  1. Great work on the rig...always evolving.

  2. nope...its actually referred to as a .5" lift because each grade of spring...LD, MD, HD, give .5" of lift respectively with xx # of lbs over stock weight respectively. It is confusing, it does lift 1.75-2" and some of the part # are mixed up too. Tye
  3. Welcome here and home C....im jealous bout your 5spd App...skids are real hard to find...but a member here...Fleury...will make you skids in either aluminum or steel!!!! Reasonable prices too. Tye
  4. Im assuming youre running a killer stereo...with some serious bump...how many subs and are you running any Caps in your setup??? (in regards to your voltage drop) With enuf thump...the alt. and extra batteries might not be enuff...or did the donkey d$#@ sized ground fix it for ya????? Tye Oh ya...if this is the case...then show pix pls!!!!
  5. A lady opened a small shop in Gravenhurst...15 mins from my town...population of 10000 maybe, spread out over a lot of area...tourist town in summer. I beleive she sold dreamcatchers and other artsy stuff...she called it Dreamworks by "enter name here) and she was closed down by Steven Speielberg!!!!! She couldnt afford to fight and was too stubborn to give in and change her name after a few yrs established!!! Tye
  6. I havent posted this yet BUT....i had my tranny repalced in my 01 and ive complained of BAD mileage and lack of power for the last year. ( my maf goes intermittently too) and CEL on too, A couple of months ago i checked all fluids and couldnt get a good read on the ATF...so after having a neighbour check as well (with method from manual) we decided to check it cold. We figured that if it was cold there is NO way it should give a reading over the HOT area...sure enough it did...in fact ive drained 700 ml out of the tranny, and the dipstick still reads at the MAX...THIS WORK WAS PERFORMED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP.....ILL POST ABOUT THE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I HAD LATER!!!!!!! They did other damage or reported other damage to be repaired after it was put all back together and brought back TWICE!!!!!!! Anyways...ive gained IMHO roughly 10-15% power and gas mileage back after draining the fluid. So there... Tye
  7. I got my OME 1.75" lift from an Ontario retailer...same prices as USA for coils, struts and shocks more expensive tho and once i factored in duty etc, it was just about the same. tye
  8. Abosolutely NOT a safety hazard...i also have 31" tires at a reasonable pressure that seem to soften the bumps a little too...I really didnt want to get MD coils in the front and then put on 1" leveling spacers on the struts to "level" out the Rake...there is alot of weight on the front and they will "settle" just a little over time. I hope to get a brushguard/winch combo or steel bumper. I wish they made HD for the back...but i wanna out in SFD in spring so ill have to get new rear springs anyway!! Tye
  9. The onroad characteristics...for my ride, are great. YES...the ride is much stiffer...but it was "squishy" like a mini-van B4. When i first started driving it around (post lift) it felt a little like a sportscar...in that it handled bumps great and corners even better...very little body roll. Ill admit that i wish they had a HD spring for the back because even with the MD OME coils and tools or psgrs the rear settles a little...but the HD coils on the front make it seem worse because they DONT!!!
  10. Well...i dont want to seem like a tard here but....could you be a little more specific...just which one the the "stray"??????? Tye
  11. I bought the cheap ones last summer...saved 20 buck a side...broke in 8 mnths or less. I just got Raybestos lifetime warranty ones on sale for 90 bucks each. no grease fittings but they DO HAVE LIFETIME WARRANTY if you keep receipt. Now...when i complained bout my old ones wearing so fast they asked if my boots were torn??? When i answered YES..they said that that voids the warranty...another member of this site gave me a hint bout that...you tell them you ripped the boots using the fork puller to get them out!!!! (You know who you are) Sounds like it would work...the fork does destroy them!!!! And how are they supposed to last a lifetime if they cant be re-greased??? Tye
  12. Very nice...im impressed with the imagination, ingenuity, and raw skill a lot of you have on the forum. The comments, criticism (constructive) and brainstorming support makes tackling ANY maintenance/modification project a less daunting task indeed!!! Tye Its cool watching some of these projects come along!!
  13. Thanx B...just been a nonstop barrage of crap happening to the poor girl! Im not that mechanically inclined but if you own a vehicle that you play with/in/on, and want to keep it going..you gotta get yer hands dirty eh?? Good advice B...sometimes its good to get that little boost in confidence to get the job going/done. Ill go look for the FSM and take car of it!! Then work on the other 10 problems!!!
  14. I have no opinions either way...hey if your entering into uncharted Pathfinder modification territory...then all the best to ya...i hope that all goes well, and if it doesnt that you learn from your mistakes. Eddison didnt invent the lightbulb the first time...he didnt fail the first 1999 times either...he didnt just succeed on the 2000th try he found out 1999 ways how not to make a light bulb!!!!! Tye
  15. Thanx for the respinses guys...i removed pads/swung caliper outta way so i know its not the brake draggin...there isnt any noticeable holes in or noise coming from the C.V.if i pull off the outer black cap and hub...what do i look for to indicate a toasted bearing...or will it be obvious??? Adam...i dont have a FSM just a Hanes...helps lots tho. From what i read about the bearings/hubsin my manual it seems like a pain in the ass....backlash, and spring retainers, that stupid beasring nut with the weird holes you need a special wrench for...CRAP! Tye
  16. But i didnt remove the rotors or wheel bearings...the rotors are fine...been replaced b4 so im stumped...i havent had the hub etc apart!!! tye
  17. I just put on calipers etc...i even removed it to check the drag issue...i also jacked up the other side to compare!!! Sucks
  18. O.K....just finished up brakes on front...take it for a test drive and it pulls a bit to the left, brakes are good now but when i had them apart i noticed alot of resistance when trying to turn the drivers front wheel. NO...the brake isnt sticking and there isnt any grinding from it when i do turn it...but slow and hard to turn... So i jack the psgr side to compare and it turns much smoother. On the way down the snow covered rd i put it in 4WD and goose it...no prob...but when i slow down b4 my drive...the truck slows quick and then CLUNKED LOUDLY when i switched out of 4WD...and it also looked like the front end lowered a bit when it "shifted" out of 4WD. Didnt feel right at all. Im dumbfounded and am absolutely positve the brake isnt draggin!! HELP PLS Tye
  19. year 2001 3.5 SE OME 1.75" lift replaced stock 16" w/ 31x10.5x15" on 15" steelies, no tire rubbing issues w/ 4.25 BS w/ 1" clearance to lower spring perch on strut. NOTE: Book at shop lists them to fit...company website lists them to fit... THEY DONT FIT! I had to grind ALOT of material out of the way to get them to stop rubbing!!!! I couldnt pass up the deal i got on the tires and rims...but now that i just replaced the pads and CALIPERS...the 15'S DONT FIT...im waiting on spacers now. Tye
  20. The difference is between coils and not shocks...they come in LD, MD, HD for the front and LD, and MD for the back for our yrs of PATHY...there are two different shocks available...which control speed of upper rebound...normal or comfort, which will offer a softer feel. I have MD coils and normal shocks on the back...with a little weight, family etc, it is a nice ride. (it was too soft orig) I have HD coils in the front because i didnt want to use spacers to get the front to the same height...NOT recommended unless you put extra weight on front...IE a steel bumper/ guard winch etc!!! The front is VERY stiff on mine right now...(dont have a bumper yet) Tye
  21. Does it not work better to enter ALL the words you want to search in "quotes"??? If you search like this you get results based on the phrase you search with and not the individual words...no...???? Tye
  22. MMMMMMMMMMM I love turkey! It always has to be an Eh/non-Eh, english/french or r50/wd21 thing...geesh, sorry i forgot...we have our turkey day at the right time of year..hahahaha... Just kidding....Happy thanksgiving everyone and good luck surviving black friday. Tye
  23. Back at ya...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year etc...it already looks like Christmas "puked" in my livingroom LOL...everything out but the tree!!! We LOVE our decorations and the like......SAFE AND HAPPY DAYS TO ALL...... Tyler and Family
  24. OHHHHHH....gets better for me now!!!!!! Couldnt find 1/2" drive ratchet...used 3/8 to remove caliper carrier mounting bolts...BROKE IT...Got another one...heated it... penetrating fluid...HAMMER...and a 6 ft long bar...BROKE IT TOO!!! CRAP!!!!! Oh and this tops it all........ARGH....noticed some movement in my psgr strut (up top) took off the rubber bung (plug) to find some play in the nut/bolt combo holding the strut together AND its movement has worn a sloppy hole in the top of the mount im sure!!!!! I dont know how this happened...my neighbour was in control of the torque wrench...thats how he lets me borrow stuff and i dont own a torque wrench. sooooo dont know if it wasnt torqued down enuff or what???? PICS TO FOLLOW SOON!!!!! Crap!!!!! Can i SOMEHOW get that nut cranked back down and torqued without taking the strut out and compressing the strut etc etc....???? I just tightened it till it made contact with the mount then the shaft spins with it... DANGEROUS CRAP EH??? The hole in the top of the mount has...or in this case HAD a flat spot just like the top of the strut shaft right???? Tye In the pics you can see how the nut isnt in the centre and there is a pile of metal dust in the corner!
