  1. How To Replace WD21 tire carrier bushings
  2. wich cable? the 2 running out to the brakes are differant between models the 1 running from the handle is is the same between models
  3. ON the VG there are 2 block drain plugs if you want to get all the crud that would otherwise not get disturbed at the bottom of the block. one behind the alternator and one behind the PS pump. then remove the thermostat and shove a hose down the thermostat housing... Water pump can stay on. I don't know if that helps or not since I never worked on a VQ. Pumping the hoses with the cap off and the engine running helps get air out and some of engines even have a bleed screw in the head or intake manifold that lets air escape thus filling the heater core and other tight spaces faster.
  4. B about covered it. If you do lift a rear wheel wit LSD sometimes pulling the e-brake puts enough resistance on the floating wheel that the grounded wheel still propels you instead of spinning the floating one madly.
  5. maybe you could give your lifter galleys a wet hone with 400 grit. also keep in mind aluminum expands more and at lower temps than iorn . you lifter galleys are aluminum.
  6. Thats exaclty what it is. have fun and good luck.
  7. AC sells an extended brake line in varying lenghts just for that axle connection. For the record I bought XJ 3" lift springs from Rough Country and cut the pigtail off. They are the almost the spring rate (175/180 lbs per inch) same diameter, wire spacing and wire dameter as the oem springs but they stand 3" taller because they have more coils. (stock spring is 16.5" free and XJ3" lift is 19.5" with the pigtail cut off.) ALL aftermarket PATHFINDER springs are a higher spring rate. No stinkbug and no sag after a few years of having them on.
  8. Its a NA VG thing not a FSM thing. 175-185 is the optimal coolant temperature on these designs to maintain an optimal combustion temperature. The combineation of a 170 t-stat and clucth fan allow it to reach that. Trubo VG's produce more heat inside the cyl so 165-175 coolant temperature helps maintain the same combustion temperature. They also recieve 170 thermostats and are fine with that unless bost is increased over stock.
  9. take the auto hubs off and clean/ re-grease them? were you in neutral or park? On My 94 the light will come on but the gear wont fully engage untill I take stress of the driveline VIA Neutral or park.
  10. It'll be pretty easy since you got an idea what your doing. First pull the axles and then pull the 3rd member. Mark your carrier ajustment (BIG threaded ring on each end housing the bearings) and remove the bolts on each end and pull the LSD out. unbolt the lsd and inside you will see the clutch packs on the side gears, add an extra spring or plate or disc and re-assemble. You may have to discard the side keepers to get this to work. The stock LSD on the wd21 is pretty tight; I added one disc to each side and it was chirping tires arround sharp turns. One of my daily sharp turns is downhill off of a bridge flexplate and gets iced over in the winter. Having my diff that tight chirp no matter how slow you are going would send you across the intersection. So, for tire life and potential safety I took the disc back out I will have it machined down some and try again at a later date. Now, no ice, offroad perfomance, bigger tires or better tires, you shouldn't have any issues like mine. If you search you may find some pics of ppl who have done this. Good luck cause the search engine doesn't like 3 letters or less (LSD)
  11. IIRC the OE one is 170 and nissan offered a 180's to make heaters blow hotter in cold climates.
  12. Mine have snappped on impact... no tools just earth. there is also nothing on the other side of the bolt that they will hit if they are longer.
  13. another reason not to have 3" exhaust. Water preassure is constant reguardless of diameter but exhaust preassure (or will to keep running when submerged) increases with smaller diameters.
  14. there are litte rubber stops on each corner of the door, you can unscrew them some to tightent it up. do you have a rear tire carier? Those are very often culprit to rattling in the back. I think there is a writeup somewhere here on how to change the bushings...
  15. Just breathing air so you don't suffocate. pretty much all vehicles have some type of passive ventallation built into them.
  16. or just get a oil pan magnet and leave it on there and the shavings will never travel.
  17. "Special Grade" Thats funny. Each bolt has a grade based on its strength. Besides If you pay attention or even take a measrument, you'll see if a bolt is too long before you Over torque it into the head or lower manifold.
  18. Well the r50's drive like that all the time not just in the winter. (they also have reverse cut gears for the front) Anyway, its been a habbit for many people including myself to do so in the winter or when going to the pass and no damage has come from it. As far as MPG; expect 1/2~1 MPG less than you normally get.
  19. You will not need the thrust block but the arb block may be smaller and work with discs. Its been coverd in the disc swap thread. I speculate the thrust block was left over from cariers that were inteded for full floater h233's Being as there were not a allot of full floater H233's allot of cariers with thrust blocks found their way into pathys...
  20. cool, another potential use for those vents; I eventually pan to plumb one to my hidden snorkel. The hood hinge is in the way but I'll find a way arround that... as for rain, I was conna make a small cowl for each vent.
  21. hey, nice work. I think relays are a little over kill for little map lights but again, you did a nice job. I plan to make mine stay on for a few seconds after the door is closed. I think runing a capacitor in paralell would do this... any electical guru's out there have any recomendations?
  22. Not all open cariers had thrust blocks; just install and if it won't seat then check for the block. BUT, he just said he as an ARB Air locker. Aka No thrust block.
  23. I hear ya there. I was charged 98 bucks for everthing one time and another time I was just charged for axles which was like ~60. $98 was very much worth it IMO but I just wish there was more consistancy in how they rang stuff up at that place. I'll be doing rear disc on my 94 eventually so I hope I get hooked up...
  24. So Is mine gay? You can't see it, does that just mean It hasn't come outa the closet yet? http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=26593&st=0&p=490795&&do=findComment&comment=490795
