  1. 32 psi for the old Gereral grabbers AT that came with my rig 20 yrs ago. But each tire is differant. my Nokian 31s are soft rubber and take 36+ may laredos were so stiff they took 25-33(you couldn't tell the differance, REALLY) rub chalk on the tire and drive a few feet. it if the center is clean it has too much psi if the edges are clean it has too little psi if the chalk rubbed off evenly you are good.
  2. Hydro steer? put a ratio box on the firewall where the rag joint would be and the ram up under the frame where the CL would be. Expensive, but it is a solution... VQ and VK swaps are cool, those aluminum blocks both weigh about the same as the cast-iorn VG block
  3. Hell the dunes is good a place as any for a turbo. slap some paddles on, them them tires fly and off you go! I wish you luck on your project and make sure you get pics of the fenderwall clearances and whatever custom manifolds you do up... Have you measured the DETT at its widest point and your engine bay at its narrowest point? Will you still have fenderwalls when your done? Or will you manifolds be peaking out from inside the wheel well?
  4. I did forget one factor, tho a cooler may recuce overall temps by 20* I guess that wouldn't really be right after the cooler. The overall temp is lower because of the cooler. Its a cumulative effect times the ammount of fluid. The instant effect is prolly less dramatic than I predicted.
  5. x2 the front shocks on the wd only travel a few inches If you've ever changed one you'd see they can extend farther than the suspension can. On a live axle or a strut yes, shocks are limiting factor but on the wd21 IFS the bumpstops for the Downtravel are the limiting factor. You can get low profile bumpstops and UCA spacers and you will still be within the shocks range of motion. Infact it would take allot of CUSTOM WORK to increase the front IFS beyond the stock shocks travel range and by that time; have you considered the travel range of the CV joint? and now you have More custom work to do...
  6. you could prolly find a bearing cup that would act as a nice "funnel" to press the 1-piece bushing.
  7. not to rain on you but there is already a thread with dozens of CB's in r50's and wd21's consoles, glove boxes, overhead, underseat... you name it. check it out.
  8. Did I mention my black magic came with brakets that made it a fully bolt-on application? The only thing not bolt-on was the wireing for the thermostat and that was easy too. It comes with everything labled so all you have to do is cut and crimp.
  9. looks good, did they clean the blue off of your letters? I looks a little low(is it?) but that may just be an illusion since 15x6's sit ~1" deeper (providing the same backspace) in the fenderwell than 15x7's and
  10. maybe kingman will take it off your hands, level it and sport it 4 a while
  11. what are you gonna do with your POS when you get your new bumper done? You may not like it but I think it looks pretty cool...
  12. maybe your CL cracked? Idono, its hard to say not bein there. look at everything closely. My theroy was if the inner is a larger taper then, if you compress the inner on the kuckle it would come tight early and thus the smaller outer dives deeper on the CL... Defective replacement?
  13. isn't the taper differant on the inner and outer tie rods? swap them arround and try again. I seriously doubt a little grease allowed you to stretch your centerlink taper.
  14. ok, lets hope your stering gear has good interface with your piston gear now...
  15. It was the bulb inside the switch, and I got one thankyou. Actually finding one out of another pathy was easier than finding one of those micro bulbs. Still haven't got arround to the cruise but the vaccum line is fresh. speaking of vaccum lines the upstream egr hose was unplugged and when I plugged it in the MPG's took a dive. Took the EGR valve off and I can blow thru it. So ecu can't properly ajust when the valve opens because its always leaking in the first place. I'm gonna block it off for now(help my engine warm up faster and keep the manifold cleaner). I just blew the smog test outa the water and no wonder when it was idleing with egr leaking so getting a new egr valve is low priority...
  16. my bad, I was backwards for some reason I was thinking you had a 95 and you wanted to use 97 coils. there are No R50's at my JY so I can't help you there.
  17. If my guess is correct then 130* from the cooler means your still in the safe zone. AND you owe me a beer if your "Hwy driving through the mountains" is ~150* from the tranny LOL BTW heres some handy info about ATFluid temp vs ATFluid life in miles; 175F - 100,000 195F - 50,000 212F - 25,000 235F - 12,000 255F - 6,250 275F - 3,000 295F - 1,500 315F - 750 335F - 325 355F - 160 375F - 80 390F - 40 415F - Less than 30 minutes
  18. yes well the can turn a little from friction and still not be engaged...
  19. Yes well old man emu springs are stiffer and make the vehicle taller.... Bull! http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOG-CC247/ ..(these are nice) you don't have any self service yards? I gotta go to one soon to get a spare tranny pan, you want me to get you some stock springs?
  20. Speaking of wich, It seems the carpdf.net password is not working. I been trying to get ahold of them but no luck so far.
  21. Your MPG will impove. The KS retards your spark timing by 5 degrees when its triggered. Bad spark timing means Bad mpg.
  22. Should be the same thing some ppl just leave it unplgged. The N/A VG is not very prone to knocking so the risk is not very high.
  23. where did you get your coil specs because the 87-95 coils are actually; 13.2 mm wire diameter 117.2mm coil diameter 180lbs per 1" 417mm free anyway I think the r50 coils have a differant coil diameter so they won't fit anyway. Just get some stock ones from a JY for like 12 bucks or some nicer Moog Progressive ones from rock-auto or summit racing...
  24. yup thats the link I lost lol. anyway yeh protect the lights and greaty dimish their brightness...
  25. x2 I could care less the temperature coming out of the cooler is because it tells me nothing about the temp inside the tranny. My guess is, depending on your cooler and the weather, your tranny could be over 20 degrees hotter than what just came from the cooler.
