  1. The spline counts are diffeant between wd21 & r50 axle shafts(31 vs 33). That being said, the splined side gears inside the LSD do interchange. So if you find a 4.3 LSD for a wd21 you can stick the side gears from any r50 LSD in there and be good to go.
  2. well I'm finding once again the 3 main types of drivers arround my area. PPL who are scared and don't trust their capabilties or are over cautious. They are the bulk fo the drivers in my area, seen going 5mph on a freshly plowed and sanded road even when they have fwd, awd and 4wd. Often just slow and a nusance. PPL who are overconfident, reckless or ignorant. This is the 2nd largest group and They are seen in diches, suffer from over and under steer from improper speed contol and thus winding up on laws instead of side streets. These are also the ppl who push the gas pedal harder when its already slipping. They will floor it up a hill and slide backwards instead of taking of slowly and maintianing traction. Laslty PPL who know how to be safe still get to where they are going in a timely manner. This is the smallest group in my area. Oh I had fun helping group 2 out last night. But when I went out for more in my 89 my water/atly belt broke. I made it home on batteries and didn't overheat. I ran my e-fan while changing the belt quick and when I started it up agian I watched that temp gauge drop like a rock from the 20 degree radiator. This morning I spend allot of time waiting behind group 1 untill I could pass them either on the road or by hopping curb onto a feild and going arround them.
  3. The W series VG's were a little bit of a diffarant animal. Heads were differant pumps were differant Hell it was even the only rear drive vg30 to have only ribbed belts. A vg34 + a 7mm longer stroke(90mm totoal) gives you about a vg38. Peaco down in flordia gives the best ban for buck srtoker kits (was 2k). They literally buid a new crank with full size journals and bearings. Other shops will may only offer an offset grind which reqires oversized bearings and the ammount of stroke is limited. Or you can go all out with the $12,000 JUN stroker kit... you could prolly stroke a vg to 4.0 but anything above 90mm stroke is gonna reqire lower redlines whereas the a 90mm stroke can still handle
  4. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=15422 really its the same rundown as the wd21 only the R50 reaps a greater benifit. I would recomend the Jim Wolf S1 cams for polite daily driver use, towing and wheeling. If you just want a little get-up on highway power look into the 3.0L erospec cams. I think nissan Is trying to get rid of those for cheap rt now. Or if your looking for balls to the wall redline performance with no bottom end(not of automatics) get the JWT S2 don't bother with schnieder with the 3.3 Unless you send in 3.0 cores you cams maybe come back too small.
  5. In Mass we had houses and small buildings dissapear over night. I was in a boarding school and one moring we had to climb out the windows, dig out the shed with skateboards and large kitchenware and then with proper tools dig out all the exits to the building...
  6. Bring it! This morning was not enough. notice how it piled higer on my sliders than anywhere else on my rig...
  7. yes its a little 8or10mm head facing skyward on the upper manifold next to the Idle Air Control Valve. Some of them still have a silver sticker that says do not open when hot.
  8. I've got an overhead console from a 97? it has compas, temp, lights, glasses & sunroof... Still haven't found a working temp unit for it, the glasses holder will not fit my M-frames and the sunroof controls are unused for now...
  9. I don't think you should feel it coming out the back vents, otherwise how would you keep the air you just heated in the vehicle.
  10. pop it open and tweak it. or get another one from the JY. or just cap off the line and live without it.
  11. First of all, a new or re-built engine cannot just be started and driven. It must be run-in and not allowed to Idle untill this process is complete. Second its good to have someone dial in the timing while your on the throttle so that it runs smoother during the run-in....
  12. as stated in my other thread, that is not a ground. It can be grouned but it is not. I belive its a low volt positive charge to keep the spark from arcing to ground and causing a misfire...
  13. make sure your tire carier bushings are fresly replaced and well greased at all times. ppl have got the machine gun rattle from just weight of a stock tire so I'm sure a basket would wear it faster.
  14. also lifters don't stand at full height when there is no oil PS. so if the PS dropped off enough before he tried to start it there is a chance no valves were hit.
  15. shouldn't it just melt and help the cooling? or are you talking about packing your grille so that there is no air circulation? I've plowed into a few banks and had the whole front covered in packed snow and never had a heat problem...
  16. if you do go to 300zx injectors and rails for your vg32(?) get the top-feed ones as they are easier to deal with, easier to find and easier to upgrade in the future...
  17. You know you can search threads by user or even go to their profile page and get a list of topics and BAM! Converting To A 90-95 Distributor FR this is not just for a MPFI swap, its to take advantage of a better designed verical cap (no paths cross inside the cap) and a larger point separation to avoid arcing and misfire when using upgraded ignition systems. You can use a quest dizy but I think your defeating half the point if its one of those flat style caps.
  18. I belive the rocker ratio is 1.51:1 (close to 3:2) wich would give you .260 at the cam if your lift is .393
  19. the shaft that the needles trun on are very sensitve to dirt, oils and debis. try to keep them clean (without "cleaing them")and straight or they may bind inside the motor.
  20. you won't get your 200 back so easy if you spend over a grand getting it winter worthy first.
  21. If it works anything like the older tach motors then the motor prolly turned over without the needle there to keep it from turing to far. remove the needle, turn the saft CCW you may feel a slight bump as it turns back over to its correct position. Replace needle and drive to check for accuracy.
  22. yes, only one of the hoses is shut off the the heat sensitive spring. the other hose connects the device to the lower mainifold. pop the cap off and see witch one is witch
  23. hey Ramon, sorry it took bad news to bring you back to us. I hope all else is well. You did well with you valve cover gaskets a while back so I am sure a timing belt is well within your ablilites. As long as none of the valves struck you should be fine.
  24. sideways if fun. Until you find a guard rail, or even worse no guard rail.
  25. get a 180* thermostat it will help you in the cold and make sure your coolant is between 50/50 & 75/25 coolant/water. I have seen engines with the complete inabilty to warm up on a hot day because the owner put only water in it.
