  1. Gotta agree with silverton, a pair of flatheads are real quick and easy to remove and walk away with... and for the cleanliness and attention to detail I generally see out of you I am disappointed you didn't remove the plate when you painted your rear bumper/hitch. What's with the overspray? and as you probably guessed, the ClearEyes comment was just a joke with the red glow. It is a nice lookin job. Not my flavor but I am generally a bit dated with some of my taste...
  2. I don't have a factory brush guard but from what I understand they mount where the tow hooks do at the bottom of the frame and possibly a bolt through the bumper (which is basicly cosmetic and there to say there is one and mount turn signals to). not even at least using all the factory bumper bracket mounting points which would distribute some impact to more than 1 single point of the frame. Aftermarket bumpers are generally designed to optimize their mounting layout FOR strength to help WITH their ability to protect the front of your truck.
  3. Can always try calling your grandfather and seeing if he has a bottle of the old (good/actually worked) Naval Jelly too... that stuff is great
  4. Shoulda got some rapist red belts to match! (not a downshot, I actually the Nissan Rapist Red interior) I switched my 31" spare back on (so I have a matched size set). Challenging...
  5. if your painting them anyway, sanding is part of proper prep
  6. Exhaust tone is like paint... everyone has their own taste. Having no brand loyalty I have a Thrush on mine with homemade piping from the y-pipe back, it's obnoxious but no doubt its me coming up the road before you see me. I know there's a couple wd21 exhaust videos floating around as well but can see a 'dedicated' exhaust video thread going off topic, becoming full of depth-less "nice " posts, and/or just having random non-Pathfinder videos jammed in it kinda quickly...
  7. I'm waiting to see ben Stein show up and spray the front of your truck with ClearEyes... Photoshoppers, attack!
  8. not necessarily, "made in Japan" don't mean 'original' in todays age...
  9. Doing some of my cold weather is coming preventive maintenance today and this was part of it. I clean ti bi-anually though so not a big deal and fairly clean but just a reminder to some people to do it!
  10. If it's your thing you can always "hide" some not-so-perfect bodywork with bedliner, chipguard, etc. But I can understand the desire to ship it off to someone else. Bodywork ain't one of my favorites either
  11. If just external why no tin some up yourself?
  12. Here's the measurements for the extra "holes' you have to put in the headliner for the drivers grab handle (still one of my favorite interior mods ive done) And if I remember correctly RedPath88 has 4 door style belt's in the back of his 2 door and that wHierd nunya guy does as well (besides some panel modification there was 1 hole per side I had to drill, and it wasn't a 'structure' point. All the actual securing points are already part of the body)
  13. 1st welcome! As for adding a factory carrier to a non-carrier truck, it's a little more than just "unbolt here and bolt back on here". There are braces within the quarter panel for the carrier (that also house the threads for the bolts) that non-carrier trucks do not have. You have to either cut the quarter panel apart to get to them in the doner (then waste way too much time figuring a way to get them INTO the receiving truck-trust me, it sucks. I personally went this route) or I belive every other person around here with a little common sence bought a kit that contains all the brackets in an easier-to-use package. Oh, and we like pics around here... Hint hint
  14. Paint color is one of those things that's going to be personal taste. We don't have to drive it, only you do. I personally dislike the whole OD thing period, (maby on a big ol deuce & 1/2 or one of those duck boat/trucks...) but take that as you want from someone who paints stuff pink. Use the colored pencle trick or bug someone with photoshop to play with a couple of your pics you got
  15. wrong color... what would I do with a silver one?
  16. the 93-95 wd21s have a different trim piece under the front bumper than the 87-92s, the front flares "tie into" this trim piece on the 87-92s as it is a plastic unpainted textured piece like the flares. The 93-95s have a metal painted-to-match piece that the flares don't tie into. either set will work as they have the same fenders, the exterior differences between the differeent wd21s are (besides the obvious 2 door/4 door differences) cosmetic and interchangeable (bumper styles, grill shells, stuff like that)
  17. That can be arranged accordingly when the time comes
  18. Random thought... There are 2 different pillar trim styles. With and without the little clearanced section for the chumpie speakers. Would there be a choice of style for those wantig 1 or the other or just a 'live with/without it" if it is not the style you have. (IIRC the cleranced ones are only on later wd21s and people like me who swapped them in whether it were for a reason or "because I could" )
  19. think they will sell decent honestly... how many wd21s ARE there out there without one that probably should anyway?
  20. not enough... start drilling/tapping/adding zerks fittings where you didn't have them before! rubberized undercoating? I hate that stuff, holds moisture and never really dries 100%
  21. pics you asked for (both of right side, left side pics didn't turn out useful at all) (yea I know the upper bolt was backed out a little, I tightened it after I took the pic) Like I said brackets were ordered as 93+ HB bolted to a 91 HB then moved to a 88 wd21 later modified to accommodate a 3" bodylift on that 88 wd21
  22. all was before the bodylift, after the bodylift I cut/re-welded my stock brackets to make the bumper line up without using the sorry excuse for relocation brackets that were supplied. But that's MY experience and all I can speak from.
  23. my bumper came directly off my HB and bolted it right on my wd21, and that's 93+ bumper/brackets -ordered as a wd21 bumper and HB brackets- that were bolted to a 91 HB then transferred to a 88 wd21
  24. Diesel it It's all about how creative you want to be, time, money, and abilities. Anything can be done if you got all that.
  25. Always nice to have shop access though, nice to see it coming together You'll be back to abusing it in no time
