Well Geico called me today to tell me that, just like they decided I wasn't liable, they have also decided the BMW guy is not liable... This guys adjuster knows he caused the wreck and was very apologetic about their decision. He also told me that they have a literal "round table" that, if I call my adjuster again and am adamant about my position, they will put all the evidence on for both stories and he, my adjuster, and the supervisor will decide one of us to be liable. The honest truth about me is that I have acted like WAAAAAY more of a crazed roadrager on at least 3 or 4 other occasions that did not end in a crash. I wasn't on his level at all and more than anything his roadrage surprised me but it could have been different as I am capable of acting ridiculous on the road.. So I don't really want to peruse him. I want this experience to stick with me as a permanent reminder that acting crazy on the road can't happen anymore.. acting crazy on the road can end in damaged vehicles, or worse.. And so I will be making these body repairs myself. Time to scout the local pull a parts! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
97 QX4 missing at idle (15"BTC not even close)
onespiritbrain replied to Mrelcocko's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I had a frontier that missed at idle. Mine was caused by an invisible pin hole in one spark wire. I finally found it by slowly dragging the end of a screw driver across every inch of every spark wire in pitch black darkness.. one little spot shot sparks out... Did you already replace the wires? Also, I got water and mud down into the spark plug holes on my JR50 the first time I got stuck and one of the cylinders started misfiring and didn't stop until I replaced the plugs/wires and cleaned the area. Geico called me yesterday to let me know they have decided that the evidence shows I am NOT liable! Yay! Justice prevails! That guy also has Geico so an automatic claim was generated against him and I will most likely win the repairs to my vehicle. Yay! This is a lesson for everyone; take pictures at the scene of the accident and take thorough notes on exactly what happened. These are the pictures that successfully defended my claim: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Did you scrape the old gasket off the engine? The gasket was stuck on the engine for me and it was a tan color. I had to have a razor blade to remove it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From what Ive gathered, Georgia is not a "no-fault" state so I am left to try to prove to his insurance company that he was at fault. I do not have full coverage so I cannot file it on my own insurance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
He was in front of me and traffic stopped suddenly and I got too close to his car which made him angry. Then he swerved out of the lane and hit his brakes until he was beside me, then he sped up and tried to swerve back into my lane and I couldn't stop quick enough so he hit me... then he told the cop that he was just trying to merge and I sped up on purpose and hit him... The cops ruled it no fault on both parties... so I'll have to fix mine myself... I am very sad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ohhhhhh I see now.. it never was at TDC. I thought the white paint was obstructing my view of the timing marks but I see now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Did the crank sprocket move? However each piece moved, just move it back to where it was. Then put the belt back on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you lined everything back up the way you took it off then you should be fine. How far did the sprockets turn when you relieved tension? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

95 pathfinder/terrano2/mistral transmission
onespiritbrain replied to Dino3310's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I'm +1 for digging into the thing. Burned oil can be replaced and unless your slipping, you've still got clutch material left. Your issue might be simple enough with replacing the lockup clutch solenoid and/or shift solenoids. My experience with a toasted trans is that they are violent and loud. Grinding snapping and loud popping/banging jerking slamming... I'd drop the pan and see what is in there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I accidentally wound the cables onto the driver window actuator backward in my wife's MDX so the window operated opposite, up was down down was up. I like auto up better than auto down so it was sort of a plus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
