  1. Im lost here...isnt it that the alternator has to be grounded off on the top 2 holes where the long bolt goes thru to fit the factory bracket? and the bottom mount holes where you mount the other bracket with adjuster has to be grounded too?
  2. purple is supposed to go on the top prong of the switch..I just pulled the center console on my wifes pathy to do a transmission swap and the only switch on that center console that I cannot trace a quick disconnect plug is that darn foglight switch so I wrote down the wiring color and where it goes..Try switching it on top prong
  3. I spoke to a transmission guru this morning and he said that shavings like that is normal as long as theyre not chunks of metal..also on the reverse no forward situation I have he also said that the tcase has nothing to do with it..I was able to finally drop the transmission this afternoon and another one is going in...well see what happens.
  4. Im just going to replace my tcase too..Its not a good sign seeing those metal shavings on the drain plug. Im goping to have to have the tcase and transmission tested first at a local transmission shop here
  5. hey guys im in the process of swapping my auto transmission now and what ive noticed when draining the oil on the transfer case the plug has a bunch of metal shavings but the tranny plug is clean. Could it be my t-case has gone bad? A few months back my wifes truck would not go on reverse and for some reason the next day it did...It ran fine up until a month ago where I can hear it grinding it would go away when it shifts. 2 weeks ago it finally went out..It would not go forward but it has reverse. With the motor running and on gear I think I can hear the tranny spinning Could it be my t-case?..Your input is greatly appreciated fellas
  6. I was able to find one at a junkyard from a pathy that has 108k on it for $55..hope it works..were installing it today and keep you guys posted whats the transmission model number on wd21 guys? We pulled a transmission off of a 95 and its going on a 94..would it be RE4R01A ?
  7. I took the rotor off...but I trhink it went in right...the backfiring I bet is caused by the temp sensor.all the symptoms the guys have mentioned are there.I havent had the time today to mess with it..will keep you guys posted
  8. Mine doesnt run like crap though..it runs great when warmed up
  9. I used this kit from 4X4 parts https://www.4x4parts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=367_333&products_id=444 I just moved my fuel filter and mounted the oil filter bracket where the fuel filter used to be..real easy
  10. so its just a poor design on that calmini bushings...good thing somebody came up with the new design for years ive been trying to figure out what brand that red grease is...lol..tried several kinds of grease from castrol to napa and theyre either greenish or brown but never did try mobil 1..I know when I did my ac uca I greased them at the base hobby shop and it is that red grease..its holding up till now..gotta check at autozone
  11. hey guys im thinking of doing my wifes transmission and could anybody tell me how difficult this job is and what should I look for in buying a used transmission from a junkyard? I read somewhere on here that if I get a transmission off of a lets say a 92 and my pathy is a 94 that I should change the module too..i havent got a clue what that is...Can you guys please tell me what else I need to be pulling off the donor truck when I pull the transmission? Thanks guys
  12. Thanks Mark. Jeff(joebob) told me he spoke with you..Another thing calmini didnt specify on their bushings is that it has to be greased with pneumatic grease gun with atleast 80psi..I dont think that a handheld greaser would pump out enough grease to really soak them bushings but with this new design with channels a handheld one would probably work.how hard is it to grease it now that you have the new bushings on it assuming you used a habdheld grease gun
  13. they do sell em for $75 plus another $25 to ship it..damn shipping is outrageous
  14. not really..lol Hey B you wouldnt happen to know where I can get a drop bracket for the rear link rod?
  15. a little tutorial please on adjusting the steering box
  16. Thanks again...good thing I downloaded the fsm the other day..im going to do some reading tonight
  17. Thank you so much guys..Im going to tackle the temp sensor / thermostat tomorrow...Im going to start off by cleaning the plug ..hope thats just the problem..if not then ill have to get a new temp sensor.Id could be that both the sensor and thermostat is bad. What would you guys suggest if after cleaning the plug for the sensor doesnt do the trick..Do i replace the sensor and hope it cures the backfiring problem and replace the thermostat too for that lazy warming?
  18. The idler arm bushing on the set I was going to buy is already toast so I might just get a new set.Calmini told me yesterday that if the bushings are worn out i have to get a new idler arm brace for $350 ... somebody oughta make those set...$700 is a lot of money for the damn kit but it looks cool
  19. Thanks for the offer B..it looks like im not going to be able to get joebobs set...I might get a new set from calmini...early xmas present....hehehe
  20. im going to have to try to use a breaker bar on the pitman arm tool..whew....hope mine comes out without having to drill..ill keep you guys posted...but right now im working on the thermostat/sensor issue I have. on the other hand I might not have to mess with the pitman arm..joebob emailed me earlier and it looks like the bushing on his calmini is toast...if it doesnt cost much for that bushing ill probably still buy his :laugh:set
  21. Thanks greg... I hope its not that little pipe behind the tbelt cover...I replaced that when I did my tbelt few years back. Ill check around that also on the sensor, how can I tell if the one for the ecu or gauge is bad? I would assume that the one for the gauge is still working coz its still reading temp
  22. I seen the post on your pitman arm nightmare B..did oyu get em out? Ive been soaking with pb blaster for the last 2 days
  23. lol....I knew i can count on you Red..looks pretty easy to install ..That idler arm brace looks good...been soaking my linkage system for a few days now just in case joebob finds the time to get to his pathy and remove the calmini ive been wanting to buy from him..looking at my pitman arm it doesnt look like its going to give me a hard time though ( i hope) Thanks bud
