Where oh where has my LSV gone?
SpecialWarr replied to SpecialWarr's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Soooo.... no ABS either... hmmmm.... that would explain the lockup of all four wheels yesterday on the highway. Oh Well, that just means less stuff to break! Thanks boys! -
I did watch the first two episodes last night. I do like the BMW moto.... that guy is c-A-rrrazy doing that stuff with the stock tires! I think I'll watch the rest of the episodes though, I did like the first two.

I was looking for the load-sensing brake valve under the pathfinder on the weekend and I cannot seem to locate it. Where exactly is that creature supposed to be? 1990 4x4 auto with disc brakes at all 4 wheels. It would seem to me that it would be under the truck near the rear axle but I have nothing but an exhaust, spring perches and a fuel tank.

I can't watch that.... it's sponsored by Toyota.

And last but not least I have made my wife happy now that I have welded the tailpipe onto the muffler ( this fine frigid morn' .... and windy t'was too) I would post pictures but does anyone really want to see a muffler with a tailpipe welded to it?

Alot of details: Camshaft/Distributor Cap Rotor Issue
SpecialWarr replied to chrisq's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I think you may be correct in your assumption of the rotor being off of its correct location. I do think that you'll have to download the Factory Service Manual for details on how to set the engine back to TDC and the correct orientation of the rotor. -
I wonder if the sensor wires themselves might need a good short of intake/ MAF cleaner

Mountain bike mount built off the sparetire carrier?
SpecialWarr replied to Dma251's topic in General Forums
Just as a thought: if you wanted you could weld some short tube sections to stand the bike off of the carrier and buttress the bike frame off of the spare tire. -
Well between DirtEveryDay, RoadKill, Cheap Truck Challenge and episodes of Top Gear UK I get my 'fix'. Barring that I can often find small patches of dirt and mud in the spring at the cottage.

RedPath88: how did you guess? I didn't do it! I swear! I was just minding my own business on tapatalk when BAM! I got hit twice by the same post!

There are at least a few of us that are currently running full synthetic oil. I have used Castrol Syntec for years in all of my cars prior to the path and never had so much as a hiccup from any of them. I think most would agree with me that the type is much less important than the correct weight and the correct weight much less important than changing it and the filter like clockwork every 3000 miles.

So after a bit of wondering about transfer case, their gears and possible choices of oils to use: What is everybody running in their T-Case?

That will only work with manual hubs. The automatics you should be travelling at less than 25mph.

I'LL GIVE YA $20 FOR THE SWEET FRONT BUMPER!! Shipping to Montreal is included right? -
Agreed with bushnut!! More pictures please!!

+1 on that.... taken mine off 4 times in two years. I decided that grease on the nipple was a good thing for all of the vac hoses.

I'm looking at the FSM exploded view right now and the only things that make any sense to me are major mechanical failures. Diff side shaft broken, ring gear missing lots of teeth, right side gear broken. In short: if there are not chucks of metal coming out the the problem is either binding in the diff or the hub clutches worn out as far as I can tell! Let us know what you find!

How much LSD additive in the h233b rear end?
SpecialWarr replied to RCWD21's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
My tube of Additive says to partially fill the diff with the intended oil, empty the tube into the diff, then fill the diff until it's full. Not that I've done that yet. -
Yea that e-brake is a pain. I'm currently on a 90 SE with the automatic and I have not had any problems with the auto. I, like many others on here, do recommend a remote oil cooler for the transmission that bypasses the original ( in the lower part of the radiator) possibly with an additional remote filter, it will make the difference between still having a drivable truck and a heap of steel. Since I'm broke I have not yet been able to install one but I hope to be able to gather enough money this summer to have one on for late August!

1993 Pathfinder XE - Some questions..
SpecialWarr replied to MrEviLDeD's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
That module is actually located between the inner fender and fender liner to the right of the battery. -
HahAhhah not everyone is!
