  1. Sounds like a JY find to me. If the hold down tabs are missing a dab of silicone will keep them in place...
  2. Rock on, my cyber friend. I hope whatever it is that is taking you from us is a worthy one, if not do what you gotta do and I look forward to your return... Just for fun, here is a pic of my daughter that does not live far from you. We live on opposite coasts but she lives in my heart every day. Just sayin' we won't be forgetting you either.... https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s843x403/1380795_655861714432154_829223918_n.jpg
  3. Ditto. If you are even thinking about missing it now, you definitely will if you sell it. Be very sure before you do !!
  4. Ouch !! I am a spelling and diction fiend but this is the Net, as long as the point gets through....
  5. Took RP88's advice and read through the tire thread. The BFG's look pretty promising, I will look them over. I found a used 31/10.50/15 at Tire Depot for 45 bucks to hold me over until I can afford the 33's. I still need those hubcaps though, give me a PM, text or something and I will swing by and take those off your hands.....
  6. Yup. Maybe they will swing me a 5 for the price of 4 deal. GOTTA have a full size spare..
  7. Thanks RedPath, I was a bit flustered during the initial post... I have a 3" S/L on the pathy right now, I don't see any issue with running 33's and thanks for the input, I think I will stick with 10.5's. I FINALLY found a tire store with a used 31 until I get a new set next month. I could force the issue but I would be living on peanut butter and tuna fish.... I am sure the tire issue here is as volatile as it is on bike forums but does anybody have suggestions? Except for a few winter months mud is semi scarce around here but lotsa shale, DG, etc. Not too aggressive for driveability but somewhere in the middle would be great. Called Les Schwab and they don't even carry 33's!!
  8. Got off work and stopping by the neighborhood watering hole and heard a loud hiss.... Saw a 1 inch split in my tire, it looked full but jumped right back in to take it home (2 blocks). By the time I made the first block it EXPLODED and felt the left rear drop. I was soo close to home I felt it prudent to limp it into the driveway. I was driving at .5 mph to whole way, even at that it was beating around like a NASCAR ride tearing the fenders off. Everybody in the neighborhood was watching and 1 guy screaming "it's coming off the rim", no @!*%. Pulled it in the driveway and looked at the damage. It seems the wheel made it home in tact but the tire disintegrated! So, I am riding the dual sport to work until I buy some tires, piss on a "temporary". I am thinking 33x10.50s or maybe 11.50s. I am one of those that believes narrower tires actually perform better all around, except for deep sand. whaddya think?
  9. Wow. I don't know all that much about these trucks but that looks borderline dangerous. Looks like the keeper washers are totally rusted out and the compression rod has shifted in the rubber bushing. I would replace the bushings immediately but others that know more might not think it is a big deal. You can order all the urethane bushings from 4x4parts.com, another reason to run to Blaine and get a P.O. Box!
  10. Not sure where you are moving to or if you have smog standards where you are now but it might be wise to contact the state you are moving to for the emissions requirements of that particular state. You may find bringing your Pathy to the needed emissions level may not make it cost effective, unless you have a real attachment to that particular rig.
  11. I haven't looked but I will not drill into my roof to install ski racks. I often am the "designated driver" with up to 4-5 patrolmen in my rig. There is not enough room inside for skis, gear, etc. I want a nice clamp on rack. Anybody got a good ones or ideas?
  12. Gave her a good once over, getting ready for a few of us to head down Cottonwood Creek tomorrow. Seems all the stories I hear of the creek bed someone always has to get winched or pulled out..... Maybe I wont forget the memory card in my GoPro this time!
  13. Welcome! There are a few Aussies on here, along with some Kiwis! This is a great site, lots of info and guys willing to help with questions. I have visited W. Australia in the Navy, Perth and Geraldton. I had a great time and would love to go back someday. Once again, welcome!
  14. What? You cant put them in with a greased up piece of twine? What is the world coming to?
  15. Might order a set of those for my spare axles!!
  16. Yep! Same color... I kinda like the neutral earth tone. A split boot replaces the whole boot without removing the axle. Always carried one or two when I was racing VWs, just didn't know if they were available for the Pathys....
  17. You can check codes without an OBD reader. Box is under the passenger seat, read the blinking lights. You can google the procedure and codes or you can download the FSM here in the Garage section (suggested)
  18. They have the pig tail on them and look kinda feeble. Just go to 4x4parts. com and get some there. I got some springs off a JGC and really didn't lift much. Worth it to just go to a reputable retailer and know what you are getting.
  19. How about getting a P.O. box in Blaine? Maybe run an add in the Blaine Gazette (whatever) and get a deliverable address? Is that one of those lifetime warranty NAPA axles? lol
  20. It's all good. By the time I posted it was back together anyway. Live and learn, right? I now know how NOT to do it! Got the idler arm brace on this morning so all the goodies I got from Addrian are installed. I noticed a rip in one of my CV boots. Do they make a split boot for a replacement?
  21. If you have a flare tool just put a coupler in it, it will be fine. You can probably borrow one from the parts store.
  22. Yep, feel pretty silly. After Ahardb0dy said there was no need to take off the forward torsion bar mount I HAD to go look at the ones I took off and bigger than **** it slips right off the end. The amount of frustration I went through last night almost (I said almost) makes this humorous. My apologies to all the Japanese engineers around the world for all the names I was calling you last night!
