Is the interior on the R50 the same from 96-04?
Karmann replied to TutorN1's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
$300?! Forget it. I shed a tear spending the $100 on my custom set. I bought Hexomats, which hold the dirt, mud, and liquid I sometimes spill in my car exceptionally well. Look good, don't slide, and fit well. I got them here on AutoAnything. http://www.autoanything.com/floor-mats/75A2570A0A0.aspx -
Wow, what an ordeal, make sure to take pics along the way. I'd love to convert to those lights, but damn if they weren't so $$$!

Advice on upgrading a stock 2004 Pathy
Karmann replied to 04Pathfinder's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
It may only cause an issue if you have the auto-4wd system. I have had no issues on my part time unit, and get about 13-14 city overall. -
*Nearly finished* my project of removing the rear factory mudflaps while retaining the fender flare profile.

Awesome, may I ask how much $$$ was required?

Manual hubs, synthetic fluids, 91 octane, exhaust and intake upgrade (marginal improvement), and a light foot. -
The final word on lifting the R50 at a low Cost
Karmann replied to fleurys's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I have the 1" HDPEs of yours up front to level my OME- great work, and thanks for working with me on the shipping. -
I would say put some decent tires on, and then wheel it to see what needs to be addressed. That's what I did, and it saved me a good bit of $$ up front.

Yes, they ought to work, there's pics of them installed on the factory 17s somewhere on here. -

I would suggest not getting the TAG bumper, only because it doesn't seem like you need it completely. That's a lot of weight and $$$ to have up there. Anyway, you can use some angle iron to mount to the high lift. Check out Stioc's build in the nissan section of Expedition Portal for more details. -

Good looking, clean truck. As far as the lift, I highly reccommend OME. Just remember spacers to level it out and you're perfect. Great street ride, and excellent capability. Grille-wise it's extremely easy to remove- just a few clips and presto! It's off! I plastidipped mine and love the look. May I ask why exactly you'd like a TAG bumper? Or brush guard? I much prefer the stock setup, and since the angles aren't too bad, I've left it alone. You can even mount a highlift (stioc's idea) or off road lights (my idea) in the slots. Welcome to NPORA and I hope your stay with us is wonderful -
I've seen a few of them on the road, and as much as I hate to say it, they look pretty good. Big boulevard cruiser style, lots of chrome etc. Very nice car, just don't like the name. Also, anyone else puzzled as to why, after 12 years of progress, the 3.5 in the new pathy makes less torque than the automagic VQ R50 models?

A beautiful area and a capable rig make a great combo

I have a dual in, single out 18" magnaflow muffler, with removed resonator and polis he'd magnaflow tip. Perfect tone, and good performance. Smaller than stock units, so more clearance

I have my floods pointed down and outwards, basically so I can see curbs and rocks directly in front of me. My Dually spots are pointed straight out and pretty in-board so as to have the straight-ahead distance I need. I aimed them by trial and error at an empty school near my house hahaha One of the quickest and easiest ways to aim long-range lights is to align them with your highbeams. Then you get a nice spread and distance at the same time.

Ok I am on my phone right now, so my comments will be brief. In terms of removing scratches, first look into Meguiars Ultimate Compound. Works great on scratches in my pathy or Ram. Very easy to learn. You can use it by hand or polisher (polisher will always give a better result). Do you have a polisher? As far as alloy wheels, unfortunately in many cases, deeper imperfections are professional level issues. However, I can say with relative confidence that all factory rims have clear coat. What are the problems you are having with the alloys? There may be a polish to at least help, I recommend Meguiars Hot Rims polishes. I can answer more questions, as I detailed for a living previously, but I highly suggest Meguiars Online forum for more help.

Keeping it in Hank Hill shape- Mobil 1 Full Synthetic oil change w/ filter, K&N filter recharge, and detailed the interior. (did scratch and overspray removal yesterday) I love my pathy

VQs use 5 and 1/2 quarts, VGs 3 and 7/8 quarts.

I run a 10w30 in mine year round, as it sees temperatures between 20 and 115

Looks excellent! Best looking non-flared R50 on here

Luddite. Just kidding I would say that functional ABS is generally a really good advancement in 'modern' driving, right up there with airbags and seatbelts. Definitely better performance with it than without it, and it's not really driving for you, as you can still plow that pathy into a tree and it's not going to get in the way hahaha All joking aside, check that all the sensors aren't plugged up. Maybe bleed the system and make sure there aren't any leaks.

Why not fix what's there? I wouldn't suggest ditching parts because they don't work, I recommend fixing the ones that are there so it performs optimally, and can accept off-the-shelf parts. I believe the LSV is what apportions front/rear braking. Clearly there's an issue with your system, and it's not performing to factory spec. However, if you're hell bent on the idea, here's a related thread for the LSV's removal: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/35864-lsv-load-sensing-valve-deleteremoval/

I think something is amiss in your system. It shouldn't be sliding, and if you engage 4-Low then I believe ABS turns off. ABS is definitely something you want, there's a video of Mercedes testing their system in the 80s (those zany Germans!) and the benefits of ABS are unreal. Keep it and be safer for you and everyone else on the road.

If you have the motorized antenna then the conversion would be a PITA. But if you have the fixed-mast unit then it should be easy. I have a "Euro-Style" fixed one from Amazon, and I like it very much. It did improve my reception, though the junk non-OEM one before wasn't helping. Looks good, gets out of the way of brush, and I paid $12.
