  1. That's a great idea! And actually not too $$$, should help off road. In my case, that would be really handy in parallel parking, as my rear hitch sticks pretty far out, and I'm always worried about harpooning whoever I'm backing up towards.

some people don't mind their finger prints taken and stores in NSA databases. matter of preference.

  3. PO took decent care of it, though left a cheap bottle jack, and assorted tools in the back, plus a Korean/US Marine Corps calendar? Plus extremely dirty door hinges, and oh yeah, had the rear repainted with what seems like an etch-a-sketch. I took off one of the factory badges, only to essentially find a burned-in layer of paint around its silhouette... And the side panels have some serious waves and dings, oh well, bought to use.
  4. Is it too much to ask for Yakety Sax to be played at my funeral?

I know what you mean Kyle, I'm afraid to say much anymore as everything has a new meaning now.

Just look up your name in Urban Dictionary and it gives you a new perspective...

  5. I'm sorry if this is too basic, but does this mean an Xterra LSD will fit in our factory housing? Any modification? What do they usually run?
  6. Wow! That's a lot of light for cheap! I'm thinking one on the factory roof rack ought to do the job... thanks!
  7. Argh. Well it was a wasted thought anyway since the brake lines are in the way where I would otherwise drill. I'm wondering, would one of those "sock" prefilters around a cone k&n help at all? They seem to claim 99% water resistance...
  8. Right, that's what I thought. So I'm thinking of just keeping the stock, baffled setup then, with my k&n filter. I wonder if there's a stealth snorkel setup possible, like the through the firewall snorkels available for jeeps.
  9. Well at this time, I'm not quite ready to commit to a snorkel both financially and in the looks department I was just curious if the mod would negatively effect the stock tolerance for water.
  10. For those of you who have removed the factory air filter housing and put a round pod filter (K&N etc) in its place, have you experienced any water intrusion when off roading? (IE fording etc) I would like to have a little more performance, but am a little concerned as to if the CAI setup would make it so I could cross only shallower water vs stock. Thanks!
  11. The belt seems to be tightened down enough, and that noise isn't what a dying belt typically makes so far as I can tell.
  12. Try and get them down to $4500, then you should be in the sweet spot. I bought mine last year (same options minus the stick) for $5900 at 70k miles. You may want to check private sellers, that's what I always prefer- maintenance records, get to know the owner, and are a lot less likely to armor-all over stains and leaks.
  13. ^This. And for god sakes, just test drive one! See what you think.
  14. Thanks! I'll check it out in the morning. Seems to be especially affected by the recent rain? Or maybe just exacerbated by my sliding around corners haha
  15. I'm relatively certain it's been discussed before, but I can't seem to find it. How exactly do I stop my dome light from turning on and off when going over bumps, sharp turns etc? I assume it's something to do with the door sensors, which part is it that usually breaks?

not as nimble in the corners with 6-7" lift and 33s :P

  17. I replaced my O2 sensor on Bank 2 with a Bosch unit a few months ago. It was underneath the car on the driver's side, basically between the body and the tranny, with several clips along the way to hold it in place. They're very fiddly- watch out. If I remember correctly, it plugs in toward the front of the engine. I bought a U-Scan OBDII reader, and thus far has been quite helpful- free Android/Iphone app which allows you to diagnose nearly anything. You can also buy a $29 expansion that has specific code decoding to your vehicle.
  18. I realize I have a different motor (VQ35) but I have the dual in/single out 2.5" Magnaflow 18" muffler, removed the resonator, and love it. Little more power, little bit better mileage, and the perfect tone- not obnoxious at all, but a nice hum.
  19. Stock length struts yes. Look at rockauto for the KYB GR-2s. That's what I have (no lift ATM) and I'm quite satisfied.

  21. What a mess! Sorry to hear about you going through that. And as far as exhaust- I have the factory route but with a magnaflow 18" dual in/single out muffler, and resonator delete with stainless tip- love the sound!
  22. You may want to open the sunroof and make sure all the screws are tight etc. I have a similar rattle, but without the sunroof.
