  1. Any idea if there is a design which would fit under a 4x4parts center skidplate? (Between the skid plate and the "frame")
  2. Sweet! The duratracs are a great tire. What're your plans for the R51? Also, my condolences for being the lone ranger on this section
  3. Looks like that could be sweet, post pics with it on!
  4. I used both the dash adapter for a double DIN, and an adapter to connect to my factory speakers. I say you upgrade the speakers while you're in there, it makes things easier from what I understand.
  5. I love the pearl, one classy ride! Anyway, welcome to NPORA! In reference to improving your pathy, you've come to the right place to blow money. For the stereo question- I have the Kenwood DBX500BT, which fit into the stock location with no trimming, does bluetooth, pandora, CD, Ipod, aux, whatever, and is adapted to the factory Bose speakers. Their sound quality has improved a bit, and overall I'm very happy with them. However, if you have the $$ you might as well upgrade your speakers, if that is in your ultimate plan. Here it is What are your ideas for the pathfinder? Trail riding?
  6. What was the final consensus- just rear spring solutions, front, anything?
  7. New platinum Die Hard solved my starting, flickering, and radio issues.

  8. Those years will fit 245/75r16s which correlate to a 30.5" tire. That's what I have in the Toyo Open Country ATIIs. Off roading isn't solely about ground clearance, I used to think so, but so many trips at my now 9.1" of ground clearance have proved to me that it isn't. Just drive carefully with a brain and the Pathy will pull you through. They are very capable, reliable, comfortable, and a whole lot cheaper than the 4runner. Plus if you get an 01 or above you do earn the VQ which is quite a nice motor, and if I'm not mistaken has about 60hp over the Toyota's 3.4.... something to consider when you're merging on the freeway. Hardware wise, yes they're at a disadvantage in terms of aftermarket support, BUT the factory components are quite solid, as previously said- 33 spline locking T-Case and rear diff with a 28 spline front axle. Factory equipped with 4.64 gears and a rear diff that's quite stout. Test drive the two and see what you like, what sold me on the Pathy was the motor and how much tighter it felt on the street vs the 4runner, FZJ80 land cruiser, Xterra, and Montero. And the price- I picked mine up for $5900 with 70k miles.
  9. My transmission does that exact thing, it seems to be pretty normal. Not only that but some delayed engagement/slipping in shifting from 1-2 and sometimes 2-3 is well documented on this forum and also very normal. It's not a ticking time bomb haha
  10. Welcome to The Land of Odd, are those manual hubs on the front end?
  11. Took the plunge on some Rigids...

Dude, you should have held on for my review of the $100 24" led bar I got off Fleabay. Still, if I had your money I'd buy Rigid's also! LOL

  12. Well I'm close enough to so much of it from Little Saigon, must be rubbing off
  13. Wow, good on you! What kind of jack is that that you're using?
  14. My idea exactly, even if the science is somewhat shaky at points, I figure the extra visibility can't hurt. Plus that could possibly stop me from having to turn on my headlights when we get the soupy fog. There is so much traffic here, every bit counts.
  15. I like the look personally, if it's cleanly done. I'm trying to refresh the front end of my pathfinder with some semi-jdm touches. It also is proven to add visibility and some studies suggest, reduce daytime accidents. They're required on all new cars in Europe so there is some science behind them. I think they could at least help in dusty conditions. Yeah I typically do, but they're very popular in my part of SoCal and have been starting to grow on me. I think I will go with Option 3 when the chance arises. It seems like the most 'factory' location.
  16. Haha I haven't bought them yet, just doing a sanity check. But my favorite so far is the Philips Daylight 4 system. They're the supplier for Mercedes, and have the best rated add-on out there. They automatically can turn off when you turn on the headlights, and have a super easy wiring and mounting kit included.
  17. Option 3 mounted, Philips has an app.... I actually really like it. Thoughts?
  18. Or option 3, in the highest slat(s) in the factory foglight cover
  19. So I'm thinking of adding some LED Daytime Running Lights to the front of the Pathy. I really like the look on some, and absolutely hate it on others. I think it could pull it off. I just don't want it to look too rice or JC Whitney gone wild. Here's where I'm thinking, I'm preferrential to Option 1, because it utilizes the factory slide-out. I'm talking about the LED strips as seen here, just a little shorter. And I know it's mostly aesthetic and has nothing to do with actual trail performance, but I'm looking for opinions I suppose they could be handy in dusty conditions, marking my front end without me actually having to turn on my parking lamps. DRLs do have some science behind them.... Thanks!
  20. Shoot, well I hope you kicked their @$$ for the rest of us...
  21. Brilliant! I'm going to see if this will work. And to 96Pathfinder4x4, this is the 3/16" steel set from 4x4 parts.
  22. Here is my setup- I have an 18" Magnaflow dual in single out, welded to the factory pipe. Removed resonator and polished tip. Cost me about $400 when all said and done. Very nice tone, and a small mpg gain. I filmed a little too close, but you get the idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jraEGmb10_4
  23. #MightyCarMods But seriously, I'm interested in an upgrade to the brakes too.
