edicer2 replied to tmorgan4's topic in Solid Axle Swaps, Hardcore Custom Fab
ha yeah im excited to see the new pics as well! -
where did u get those at?
-
hey alot of ppl with the z31 use these. I havent tried them but this is one of the main places to get performance parts for z31 besides makingur own. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PEM01 look for 84-89 z31 300zx that hass the same motor as our pathy
-
x2 to what OldSlowReliable said
-
your fine just put some of the foam on the bottom just so its sealed. i have done it both of my pathfinders and its gone years and isnt rusting out very fast now. I have never had a problem with it so i would just do that. obvously dont fill; the whole quarter panel just do where u have to and do a little at a time it expands alot. i used "great stuff"
-
i completly removed all that stuff when i put in my cold air intake.
-
yup i got some nice deep ones at walmart too!
-
you can make any caliper work if u get the right rotor and its spaced right. i put z32 brakes on my z31 300zx massive massive upgrade but i also put 350z track rotors on also
-
wish my droid had that app
-
hmm alright thanks my uncle bought me one of those stupid performance chips for christmas and i just wanted to see if it would do anything. it says hook it up to the IAT sensor or the maf if its combined but nvm ill see if i can get him to return it.
-
did u put a "cold" air intake on?
-
hm alright sounds about the same. idk what to tell you with out testing more stuff
-
hmm thats definantly stock i wonder if my 92 radio would fit in there? can u get a picture of that the plugs on the back of the radio are like? get a picture of both plugs and the back of the radio ill compare mine. I think its the radio to be honest but u might have a problem with one of the factory amps failing can u run a different wire to one of the rear speakers so u bypass the amp and see if that fixes it. if it doesnt then its the radio if it does then its the amp or a spliced wire somewhere.
-
Hi this is kind of a stupid question, but do our pathfinders(90-95) have a "intake air temperature(IAT) sensor"? or is that combined with the mass air flow(MAF) sensor?
-
i bet its the radio craping out. you could buy a replacement or something. I have my orginal. tkae a picture of yours and we will see if its orignal or not sounds like it is though if its a tape deck.
-
So is this a stock radio? has it been tampered with or is it just do it on it own and its never been messed with before? Did it used to work then just started recently? Do you have a spare radio you can try in there aftermartket(will require a wireharness if u dont have one) or stock?

i had the same problem.....try doing this first before you look at new motors and stuff. go to all your switchs and pop them apart. then make sure all the connections are good. on mine the rear passenger side window would go down but not up unless i really messed with it. well i bought a new mtor and it still did it so i went and took all my switches out and cleaned the connections (mainly the front drivers one) and BAM it worked fine ever since. I ended up just returning the new motor i ordered. I think this worked becasue all the other swlitchs must run off of the drivers one or something idk. Try that first if it doesnt work then i guess look for a new motor/roller. (this is what led me to think it was the switchs not the motor idk if i recommend it)if u want to see if your motor is bad then figure out which wire goes to the motor and has power when u tell it to roll down and which one tells it to roll up and switch them. that way u can see. what this will do is if u flip them is when u push down it should roll up and if u push up it should roll down. (if its the switches then the symtoms you orginally had should be fliped then u know) I did this and figured out it was not getting power when pushing up because my front switch was corroded once i cleaned it it worked great and i switched the wires back to the way it was and was good to go. make sure u sodder them back together and wrap them in tape so they are protected.

its your fuses i bet check them out in the panel by your feet. only other thing i could trhink of is the light switch has a bad connection but check the fuses.
-
like the dome light that lights up when u open the door? if so you can get aftermarket ones that are white light and mine is super bright or u can go to superbrightleds.com and find a large white lit led board with like 9 white leds and that would defiantly light it up.
-
btw this is called a "shiro" might help u locate one better
-
o idk i just knew they were lsd and they work in my z. i just thought i would throw that out there

your oil filter is right above the starter. I kno that if your not careful everytime you change your oil oil drips on it from when u take the filter out. I would say if its leaking on to it its either your vavle cover gasket or the oil filter isnt sealing right. Mine was full of oil when i replaced it but that was from years of oil getting spilt on it when changing the oil. next time you change your oil u will see what i mean. Put a rag under the oil filter when unscrewing it to catch the drippings doing so should prevent it from getting full of oil. Unless u have a different leak.
