hey man i have the same problem in my 92 and had the same in my 93....its most like not the cluster it has been the end of the cable that goes into the cluster. it is a little white part that snaps onto the end ofthe speedo cable and looks like a square needle the goes int the back of the cluster. well it seems the plastic cracks on it and the cable spins inside that part that clips on to the cable so then its not spining the gears in the cluster. i have tried replacing that tip on both trucks and it has worked for a few months then cracked again. I am thinking my cable is wearing out and hard to turn so i think the best best is to replace the cable. you can certianly try the tip but its hard to find one thats not cracked already. Only part that sucked about the cable changing is idk how to remove it with out taking the into plenum off its a very tight space atleast at for my big hands. Hope that helps. edit....the tip will look like its spinning but to be sure try driving slowly down the road and put a little pressure on int if it quits spining then theres ur problem.

yeah good luck man i hope u can fix it! this happened to me in my 93 but my frame was rotted out so i junked it i bet your frame is good motors are cheap so its free to take that apart and see the damage if its not bad the nfix it if its bad swap a vg33!

i have them in my 92 and i have never had a problem with them i got mine on ebay for 30 bucks though. Mine dont have the highbeam but i never need it anyways. I plan on retro fiting some projectors into my 92 aftermarket lights because it scatters the light to much. I dont think u will burn them out if they get wet if anything dont have them on when your driving in water. i took my headlight unit out and calked all the seems and made sure i was gettign good suction where the bulb is seated.

the vg has been around alot longer and has much more after market due to that so u can get forged parts and cams and its a iron block. my vg33 z31 has a gt3582r on 15psi making 470 hp right now and its a stock motor and has been like this for over a year so far. -

most people (like me) upgrade their vg30 to vg33 in their z31 and swap the turbo crap onto it and its a major improvement! so u can use ur motor just get a the couple of turbo parts u need and swap parts not whole motors -
my freinds pathfinder would do this....when u pressed on the gas the whole shifter would lurch forward like a inch then when u let off it would lurch back and it would pop out of gear...were were pretty sure he has a bad mount and also a bad syncro

yeah most parts stores sell the high temp brake lube stuff in the little packets for like 50 cents each when ur at the register.
-
sounds like ur getting ripped off on all of that parts.... go to a different repair shop....a cluch cost me 400 bucks to get done a tranny is maybe 500 and those prices are with the parts inclused in the labor brakes do not cost 500 bucks
-
personally i would put ur bearing races on and new bushings and see how it is. if it doesnt wobble or look like its going to wreck the bushings i would leave it alone. worse case is u cut a few ofthe spot welds for the bearing races and have to retack them on once u make the hole smaller.
-
i would go to a u pull or a junk yard and get new calipers or buy re built ones I wont bother with leaking ones at all. If it was just the slide pin i would fight with it somemore and all of them when it was out (i do this evertime anyways and grease the @!*% out of them whenever i change the brakes pads) but since you cant get it i would just buy new ones. Your best bet is a parts store for the same day fix or if not a big rush then online but it will cost you more from a store.
-
i think the hole is too big. Im not sure what size mine was but i think the holes need to be a little smaller looks like that will move around alot.
-
i think if i were to build a new motor i would of picked a vg33 damn near the same thing but it makes a major difference. I bought a z with a swapped vg33 in it and holy smokes is there way pepper than my vg30
-
i dont think it will fit it barely fits in a z31 which has a larger engine bay
