  1. I'm running a Flex-a-lite 20 amp controller to run my altima dual fan setup, works great and has worked great for over a year now. no issues.
  2. I personally would only want coils as well but still thats a great deal for a sas swap. at least it would be leafs all around so it would be riding crappy evenly. leafs up front and 5 link rear is just weird to me.... well, for the street anyways. see if they will do a 3 link coil d44 swap up front and just leave your rear alone?? seems like the best option..
  3. I got obx stainless headers for like 90 shipped on eBay. Been rocking em for 6 months and I love them. They don't come with a y pipe though, gotta make your own. they fit up just fine, no fitment issues
  4. I would jump on it man. That is a lot of work they are willing to do for some old Dana 60s.. seems win win to me unless u want a full width pathy ?
  5. I dunno. It's designed better to flex. It feels more solid than new oem parts by far, the differences I noticed were in comparison to new oem parts. I have done my front end a few times now with all new parts. I wheel quite a bit. Wanted to try something new and for 136$ I can't go wrong. It looks very similar to the 4runner steering now. They hold up to abuse quite well. http://jaw.iinet.net.au/cars/4runner/idlerarm_2.jpg
  6. Yeah the wheel stays nice and solid now and that's with a quick string line backyard alignment just to get it to the alignment shop. Can't wait to feel it after everything is done! Yeah the center link didn't come with a steering damper bracket . But I believe it would have been on the wrong side anyways. I know there were no captive nuts welded inside the holes in the frame on the other side for the damper pin. I just got a Lincoln MIG pak 180 so it was my first test I needed an excuse to use it. Was a great excuse! And thanks!
  7. I also used a 97 pathfinder vg33e in my wd21 but I made a custom power steering mount so it fits closer to the motor. The alternator fit with a little shaving of the case. The 93 vg30e ecu runs the 97 pathfinder motor just fine.
  8. As you can see the steering/tie rod angles are WAY better than factory. I have about 2.5" of lift in the front suspension and my tie rods ball joint angles are almost centered, it clears everything fine and those are extended sway bar end links for the lift. It is a huge difference in steering feel. REALLY easy to turn the wheels now, especially since I have very heavy wheels. I cut off the steering damper mount from my old pathy center link and welded it to the 2wd hardbody center link. Retains my factory steering damper/location. Theres tons of room to align, I still have most of the threads in the adjustment sleeve as well so it should be really strong. My stock inner tie rods were already near new so I just reused them and here's the following cost of the swap. 2wd Inner tie rods x2 ($41 shipped) autopartsway.ca (Qsten brand) 2wd center link x1 ($70 shipped) ebay.ca (OE Parts brand) -- MUST USE SMALL TAPER PITMAN ARM 4wd Inner tie rods (already had) adjustment sleeves machined ($25) bringing my grand total to 136$ for the entire swap, very economical way to go as well! It drives great on the street so far, a LOT better than before. We will see how it holds up to the trails tomorrow after the alignment!
  9. Finished my 2wd steering setup, everything went according to plan! Here's just a few pics of the setup installed. I welded on the OEM pathfinder steering damper bracket to the right place/angle on the 2WD center link to retain it's use. Everything works great! Steering is about 50% easier to turn (with 33x12.5 tires on 15x10 steel rims) and the bump steer has been reduced greatly. It is almost un-noticeable now and my truck hasn't been aligned yet. Once I get an alignment I will check back in and update. Enjoy the pics!
  10. got inner tie rods for 41$ shipped for both from autopartsway.ca. if you live in canada this place is where it's at! all orders over 75 bucks have free shipping too. they are Qsten brand and look EXTREMELY tough. I believe they make a lot of OEM steering components.
  11. I got my 2wd centerlink new on ebay for 70$ shipped to canada. Its "OE Parts" brand which i have used in the past on my 240sx and they are still holding up 100% and I drive that car pretty hard!
  12. 240v welder plug should be wired in today... Installing 2WD steering setup and playing with new welder this weekend!! So stoked!!!

  13. sorry but those are the wrong parts for the inners. the inners are long and have an offset bend half way down. those inners listed are regular pathy 4x4 inners.
  14. wow shop charged 25 for the adjusters, 135 for entire 2wd swap. going in tomorrow!
  15. Just picked up a Lincoln Weld-Pak 180HD MIG/flux core combo. Can't wait to do some real burning!

yeah i just returned it actually as canadian tire had the mig pak 180 on sale for 629, down from the 699 weld pak 180 from home depot. they are both exactly the same in every respect except the mig pak 180 also comes with an extra welding shield the other pack didn't have. so got a hand held welding shield for a friend as well as saved 70 bucks which bought me an auto shading helmet and new gloves/chipping hammer at princess auto. win!!! the 240v plug should be wired up today,...

stoked i already had the proper wire run in the house so it just required 27.35$ in electrical parts and a buddy electrician. cheapest part of the whole process so far getting the 240v plug

  16. Welded up some proper exhaust hangers for my custom 2.5 inch exhaust today. Now it's in there nice and tight. Also welded up the floor of my sisters Chevette.... one of the front seat bolts tore off bringing a 3x3 piece of sheet metal with it...sigh....

yeah its been really reliable its got over 500k on it all original and doesnt burn a drop of oil. cant really complain

  17. Wow...lots done today... Started off by modifying and reinforcing the rear of my frame to move my steel bumper up 3" to match my body lift(finally) and made custom brackets to make it all work.... welded on 2 nuts on the passenger side of the frame to accept my steering damper pin for when i switch to the 2wd steering setup which mounts the damper to the opposite side of the truck.... bent out the pigtails on a pair of yellow tag ZJ grand cherokee v8 springs, they now sit at a cool 19" with the pigtail expanded.. then a buddy came over and we replaced the steering rack in his R50...along with the tie rods and aligned it. i can't believe how much got done in my front yard today! haha
  18. wow.... I got a LOT done today.... on my wd21 and a buddies r50....

  19. Okay... rear of frame modified to move rear steel bumper up 3" to match body lift... Front r50 light guard started cutting apart to make it fit the wd21.. this is gunna look good... straightened the pigtails on some JGC springs.... this is going to be a seriously productive weekend. :D

in that case, burn away! (IM still planning on doing nothing!)

  20. Steering almost sorted.... Next is to make some custom longer travel (2-3") control arms out of stock oems.... This should be fun. :) Going for 10" front wheel travel after I lower my diff. :)

  21. Found a shop to do my tie rod adjusters for 35$ cash (canadian). Bringing my total to 145$ for this swap all said and done (using my current outers as they are still new). Really can't complain.... So cheap!
  22. Found a shop to machine my 4wd tie rod adjusters... 35$ cash! New 2wd inner tie rods(40$) new 2wd center link(70$), machined adjusters(35$), junkyard adjusters(free), my outer tie rods are still new.. Total of 145$ for a custom 2wd steering setup.... I think so!!!

  23. The outer tie rods on the 2wd hardbody have a tilt to them in the wrong direction for a lifted truck and limits tie rod end travel. Pathy outer are just straight anddo not limit tie rod balljoint travel.
  24. you guys are so lucky. it costs me 90$ canadian to fill up from dead empty on my pathy. lmao.
