  1. So as most of you probably know I replaced some carpet in my 94 PF yesterday and also removed the factory alarm. I put everything back to how it would be if the alarm had never been installed. Today I unlocked the truck with the key and am also able to unlock all the doors by turning the key back and to unlock again, But when I am in the truck and try to lock or unlock the doors from the master switch I get nothing. If I press the lock button (near the window) down all the doors will lock like they are supposed too. I did mention there was a wire coming from the alarm brain just behind the remote fuel door opening lever that was tied into a wire in the main harness, the alarm wire was grey and it was connected usin a scotch lok type connector to a red/black wire. I cut the scotch lok connector out and tied the two halves of the red/black wire together. I found the instructions for the factory alarm installation and the chart lists a grey wire from the alarm tying into a red/black wire that goes to the door switch. I'm wondering if there could be a problem with this wire? It seems like the door lock timer is working as I can unlock all the doors from the outside with the key. What do you think? I haven't pulled the trim to check this wire yet.

  3. No I haven't, the old carpet looked like, in spots it was exposed to pool chlorine or something, the fibers would come out of the backing if you just ran your hand over the carpet. I'll have to ask my buddy if he knows anything about the previous owner, I did not get any records or anything with it soI have no idea. My buddy probably just used it to carry greasy parts knowinng him, but I don't know. Anyone have access to a carfax search?
  4. never had any problems getting either bolt out, I use a 2' long 3/8" extention with a swivel and the bolts come right out

  9. Was thinking about what you said the other day, and I wouldn't even need the lock cylinder, just a copy of the key, than I could re-key you a new cylinder, Of course you could have it done where you live too, but if You ever want it done would be more than happy to do it for you. 16. So I picked up a front and back seat section of carpet from a PF (2wd) at the junkyard last Sunday, today I replaced my old crappy carpet with the pieces I bought, here it is in pictures, the stains in the old carpet were there when I got the truck from my friend, no idea what he was doing !! The pass. front carpet I had cut out long go because it was coming apart, After installing the new/used carpet I took the truck for a drive I can't believe how quiet it is now !! I also did a temp repair over a rust hole I found when I removed the old carpet, And removed the alarm brain and complete wire harness putting the wiring back to pre-alarm state. before pics below: Pass front no carpet: Pass. side of seat: Pass. second row: Dr. side second row: Drivers front: parts removed pass side: parts removed dr. side: rear seat bottoms and front seats and console removed: another view seats and console removed, sorry about the sun: front seats removed showing alarm brain:
  17. Replacing the carpet is going alittle slower than I expected, had some un forseen issues come up as well as getting side tracked a couple times, First time was with the alarm brain under the seat that I decided to remove as I don't use the alarm anyway, than following the wires up behind the fuse box which required dropping the plastic panel under the steering column, and the lower steering colum trim under the steering wheel, and finally removing the 2 bolts that hold the steering column up to make room for the alarm harness plugs to fit through, all back together now, Now on to the other un for seen issue, more on that later, taking plenty of pictures too ! I will say the harness for the factory alarm is pretty cool the way they did it, basically you un plug some connectors, than the male end of the alarm harness plugs into where you just un plugged the connector (female side) and the other end of the plug (male) goes into another plug (female)on the alarm harness, I just had to eliminate 3 wires that they used scotch lok connectors to tie into existing wires, one was in the main harness near the remote fuel lever ( no idea what the wire is they tapped into) the other two were, one wire for the horn and I think one wire for the parking lights possibly so they would flash, had to unscrew one ground wires, and done, harness removed, put back to pre-alarm state, alarm brain and bracket removed, more room under the seat, less holes through the carpet, Good to go, and the truck still starts too !! BONUS ~!!! LOL Also one harness I removed that I thought didn't go anywhere I realized had to go back in as it is the harness for the switches in the center console !! with the two plugs one for the rear window and one for the adjustable shocks , well at least I didn't cut the harness thinking it was un used !!! It's back in now. Ok going back out just wanted to update and sit in the AC for a few and get something cold to drink, I'll be back when I'm done or when I can't do anymore stay tuned....
  18. Going outside to gut the interior, will take before and after pics, should be able to see a difference, I'll be back
  19. Another part easy to get to if you want to clean it, NOT !!!!
  20. You have to be careful when running 100 watt bulbs in small lights especially if they are sealed, if the lens is glass the heat from the bulb can cause the lens to crack.
  21. you will be scared, make sure you are sitting down when you read Rob's reply
  22. Keep it, you will regret down the road getting rid of it, I feel that way towards my old hardbody and wish everytime I see one that I still had it !
  23. This part circled in red, picture from NissanNut's page:
  24. When I was at the junkyard Sunday one of the pathfinders had the intake manifold removed and it was laying on the ground upside down, what is the part that looks like a IACV solenoid on the bottom of it? Or is that what it is?
  25. Sounds good but one trip to the stealer and wipe the $5K gone !
