Fuel injector wiring/connector repair (damn rats!)

Ok, the price I posted for the harness is for the injector harness, should be part number - 24078-57G00 (engine sub harness) but if you decide to order it I would double check it with Rob first. -

I missed this last night, in the FSM it shows the harness that goes to the injectors and a few other things as a separate harness, You could probably just replace this harness, will have to get a part number, here it is in the FSM: -
anytime, good luck with the bushings !
-
Well that looks like a "suitable tool" as the FSM shows: Even if you burn the rubber out you will still need to get the outer sleeve out, do you have access to an air hammer tool?
-
It may be, but when you get a chance you should try to follow it to see where it goes. I noticed in a pic under the hood on my 94 PF their is a metal tube that looks the same size as the one you are asking about, it's running the opposite way as my PF is left hand drive, but I can't see where it goes once it runs behind a hose, I'm looking at it in a picture as the PF is not home right now.
-
If that is the one that is in the frame, you can burn the rubber out with a torch, my old job they used to do that on stubborn leaf spring bushings, if you have to do it this way have an extinguisher close by and be careful of other lines. You may be able to press it out using a large socket and a big C clamp, unless you can find a suitable press tool at the auto parts that rents them something like this:

The other things that come to mind are Oxygen sensor and MAF sensor. Were there any codes other than the "51"

you can also get the complete under hood harness online for about $120 but I would try a junkyard so you can take what you need. as for buying replacement connectors, the most important thing is to match up the location of the "notch" in the plug, some plugs have the "notch" to the left side, right side or in the center. -
The butterfly and the inside of the throttle body could be dirty, not allowing enough air through when the butterfly is closed so it doesn't idle. When the butterfly is closed it is designed to let air through so the engine can run, over time dirt builds up on the edge of the butterfly restricting the amount of air that can pass, so when you start the engine cold and it doesn't want to idle by "giving it gas" you are opening the butterfly to let mover air through. Have you downloaded the free Factory Service Manual ? Lot's of diagnostic info in there, also have you checked to see if there are any codes in the ECU? When was the last time a tune up was done? Gas filter, air filter, PCV valve? I would check for codes first, if none check the TB and butterfly, than reply back, good luck.

these are pics that TXPOWER couldn't post: -
I'm sure tomorrow someone else with more knowledge of the Terrano will probably reply

I know which one you are asking about, I'm not familiar with the Diesel engines I was just saying possibly what ever connected to the end of that pipe was something below it as that connector in the heater hose does not look factory, possibly something was removed before you owned the truck. You can not follow the pipe down to see where it goes?
-
Not sure but that heater hose right below where that pipe ends does not look like a factory connector, possibly something else was there that the metal line you are asking about connected too?

how big is the pipe? Diameter? metal or rubber? Possibly be a vent for the front differential?

I usually use Ultra Grey but the store didn't have any when I did my thermostat recently so I used Ultra copper
-
I would just use the sealant, I just went through a lot of different Nissan Models and years and the only vehicle I see that uses the second gasket I posted the pic of is the 1994 Maxima, and you can see in the FSM that the housing is different. page from the FSM below: I guess the parts store that sold you the bottom gasket just had wrong info, all the VG33's I looked up use the top gasket.
-
From rock auto I get this gasket for the VG30 thermostat housing, yes I know the FSM says to use silicone, and for a 99 3.3 V6 they show this one:

Air Injection Valve (AIV)
ahardb0dy replied to PathfinderProject1988's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
don't know about emissions but on my 87 hardbody I had it all eliminated for a while, the metal tube that runs down to the cat, and the metal tube coming off the exhaust manifold, removed the tube and than cut it, left about an inch from where it came off the manifold, crimped the tube in a vise and we brazed the end, than re-installed it, all that stuff on the inner fender including the round part with the filter in it was removed/ Later on put everything back, my 87 never passed emission testing in NY even after putting it all back and with a new cat. -

that's the same gear oil I used in my sentra's manual trans, no problems, works good even when it is cold out, still shifts very easy, not as cold as some of the Northern members but still works good. -
I was looking at cars last night on carmax and noticed an infiniti Q45 had that same switch for the level adjustment, think it was a 2002, here is the pic:

Over drive will not engage until everything warms up, it says that in the owners manual
