  1. I know all about gathering parts, except I'm not gathering them I'm storing them, LOL I just saw my triple shock hoops the other day at my storage, brand new, had them painted, (pink no less, was one of those "HOT" colors back in the day!!) and never had them installed. The hoops are right there next to a complete set of fender flares from my 87 Hardbody, 2 light bars, 2 grilles, a rear vertical electric sliding window from the Hardbody (think Limo window), and 3 totes full of misc parts!!
  2. When I was running 35's on my 87 Hardbody I trimmed the flares slightly, they are real easy to cut, I just used a utility knife and cut the front edge to look the same as it did stock, be careful if you trim anything as the knife if sharp will go right thru the plastic and you don't want to have an "OOOPS" moment.
  3. easy, just don't over tighten those 10mm bolts on the fender they snap easy, and there are 2 bolts you need to remove with the door open in case you didn't already see them, and should be one under the wiper cowl
  4. the red lines in my picture is where I had a plate welded on to fix the out of round hole, well I did that on my 87 Hardbody, I checked my 94 pathfinder the other day and couldn't believe the cups are still there.
  5. the numbers I wrote are the diameter taken from the rockauto site
  6. www.rockauto.com I just looked up the rotor for a 91 Terrano with the 2.7 turbo diesel engine and it says the rotor is 277mm, the 87 pathfinder 3.0 V6 is saying the rotor is 10.895" same for the 4 cylinder. 277 millimeter = 10.905 inch
  7. Thank you, it's coming along slowly.
  8. I bought that grille from my old job (4x4 shop in NY) about 20 years ago for my 87 Hardbody, never seen another Nissan with one, currently looking for a replacement light, they are made by Carello, hard to find at a reasonable price. I did the hardbody headlight swap just so I could use that grille.
  9. There probably is, you can check here if you want: http://tools.nissantechmate.com/
  10. I think the grille is pushed up because it appears in the picture the bumper is pushed up against it, don't think you will need new bumper mounts, even if they are bent they are real easy to straighten out. the fender flares are very flexible as long as it isn't actually torn, same with the inner fender, the lower valance you don't even need to put back on it doesn't look terrible without it. here's my 94 without it:
  11. What I was told and what I did on mine was to pull the connector on the front one (which is the sender for the temp gauge) and connect a wire from the terminal in the connector to ground, with the key on, when you ground it the gauge should go all the way to full hot, if it doesn't the gauge is bad, if it does the sender may be bad. The rear sender is the coolant temp sender that goes to the ECU. Does your gauge move at all other than when it is bumped? Does it just read really low or not move from the cold mark at all? Mine used to go up about an 1/8" than I replaced the thermostat and bled the system and now it reads where it is supposed to.
  12. one other thing, my starter sometime would just click, and I did the starter mod I learned here using a relay to run power direct to the solenoid and mine has started on the first try ever since. Was yours clicking at all or doing nothing?
  13. I can test the sender, I have an extra one also, will give it a try tomorrow, thanks again
  14. Sometimes it helps if you have someone turn the key to the crank position than while holding it there tap the starter
  15. had the truck running for about 5 minutes before to check air filter and I can really smell that it is running rich, and noticed quite a bit of water coming out of the exhaust, is the water normal?
  16. picked up one of those Spectre MAF adapters today to mount my cone air filter, couldn't get the rubber grommet out so I cut it than found out the K&N would only go on a a certain amount and the hole was not covered, didn't have a plug to put in the hole so I used one of the Spectre air filters I found in the dumpster here ( a Honda owner thru a bunch of stuff away, 13 bulbs, 2 of those air filters, one red one blue),it sounds like the whistle is gone.
  17. I missed the show guess it's on a little earlier over here but I recorded one on the dvr, soon as my grand daughter leaves I may have a chance to watch it
  18. Today (actually yesterday) I checked the O2 sensor using the ECM ( it's working!), than replaced the pass. side door hinge bushings, removed the K7N cone filter, my home made adapter and MAF sensor, made a stencil out of cardboard for a new adapter, made to rubber gaskets, than made a new adapter out of 1/2" plexi,
  19. checked the O2 sensor using the ECM, mode 1, let the engine warm up and first I was getting no flashes, than right before I asked my buddy to step on the gas the green started to blink, per FSM what exactly does "closed loop" refer to??
  20. if the bushings are bad you would probably see movement if you pried on the compression rod with a pry bar, if you take the rear nut off and unbolt the rod from the arm you would be able to visually tell if anything is wrong, if you do pull the rod you want to make sure you check the hole in the mount under the frame to see if it is elongated or larger than it is supposed to be, I have a pic below of where to look: this pic shows a bad hole, also missing the metal "cup" that the bushing is supposed to sit in this is the page from the FSM showing what the mount is supposed to look like and also shows the size of the hole, 27mm:
  21. thanks, I'll look in the FSM for checking the O2 sensor, air filter is the K&N cone filter, think I have a small air leak between the MAF sensor and the adapter I made I can hear it whistling, MAF I cleaned, EGR valve seems to be working correctly, engine runs perfectly, idles perfect doesn't go up and down at idle at all. Going to see if I can fix that air leak first and I'll report back, thanks again.
  22. My 94 PF the exhaust smells like the engine is running rich, I don't have any codes, would the O2 sensor cause this? I have no idea if it was ever replaced. Thanks
