not taking it personal, the gauge part of his question was already answered, I was just providing more details to someone who is new on the forum. If you want to disagree with someone, go disagree with someone else !! LOL

Dude, this is what he asked: "What are the options the off road models had" so for his year, if that is what he was asking about (87), we know there was no "off road" package but a power package and a Sports package, I was just going to post the options for his year but decided to post all of them, you will notice an off road package was available above page 10/11 from July 93

Procedure for flushing heater core?
ahardb0dy replied to RustyButTrusty's topic in 86.5-89 WD21 Pathfinders
you can flush the heater core all you want, as others have said if you have air in the system the heat won't get hot -
here are all the packages available according to Nissan FAST program:

pulled the hole antenna and mount right out of my new antenna base !! Pc. of crap, the part the whip screws onto is turning inside the mount and won't let me tighten it, than at lunch today I went out to check it out and the hole brass mount came out!! So I did an online chat with Crutchfield telling them what I went thru and I told them I don't expect an exchange as I "modified" it, the guy said how about we send you a new antenna no charge and don't worry about sending the first one back !! So I told him fine and I'm not upset with them anymore. The other thing was the item description said the antenna was SS and the pic showed it as SS but the one I received was all black. In a few days I'll be swapping the antenna again, everything has to be a project doesn't it!!!! LOL

I locked the doors that I left unlocked all night

Today, attempted to install the new aftermarket antenna I bought from Crutchfield, had to remove the fender which required removing the bumper end, modified the power antenna hole to fit the top mount antenna, got aggravated and annoyed as the antenna is leaning over the edge of the body. Brought the fender and antenna into my shed, made a angled spacer which didn't help at all. Installed a rivnut in .25/20 thread to use a 1/4" allen head bolt to attach the antenna, finally mounted the antenna and decided if it still leans over the edge of the fender I will just "tweak" the whip slightly so it sits straight upright. May re-install the fender tomorrow. Will probably pick up a fender with the proper mounting hole from the junkyard when I have some extra funds.

finished running speaker wire for front speakers, hooked up Alpine 4 ch. amp, made a temp luggage area cover
-
Ran my power,RCA and remote turn on wire, installed my new front door speakers and now have a question. I was going to run new speaker wire into the doors but after removing the kick panel on the drivers side I discovered it would be a real pain in the as- to try and get a new wire thru the rubber grommet, so I decided to tap into the stock speaker wires behind the kick panel. I use my multimeter to check continuity between the speaker plug and the wires in a plug behind the kick panel. I found that the light green wire on the drivers door was the positive and the black/white was the negative, So I used a pair of wire taps and connected my new speaker wire to these 2 colors, I than put the door panel back together and started to have doubts on which color I had made the positive and which was the negative. So I pulled the door panel back off removed the speaker and checked continuity between the speaker and the end of the new speaker wire. I'm getting continuity from one side of the new speaker wire on BOTH terminals of the speaker ???? Of course it's raining every 10 minutes so I have to keep stopping, I just can't figure out why I have continuity from one speaker wire to both the negative and positive on the speaker. Still raining so probably done for today but when I can go back and work on it I think I'm going to just cut the 2 speaker wires at the stock plug behind the kick panel at least that way It should be correct. I also looked up the speaker wire colors online and every site I checked they had the colors wrong. But the FSM is correct at least.

Best procedure for WD21 compression rod bushings
ahardb0dy replied to sewebster's topic in The Garage
when I owned my 87 Hardbody I was toying around with the idea of modifying the frame end to have a heim joint and eliminating where it goes thru the mount all together, I figured (at the time) that the heim joint would allow up and down movement but still hold the lower control arm in the position that it is supposed to be at. Confusing to picture, but what I meant was to say cut the strut arm, leaving the part with the bushings than welding a plate to the cut arm just front of the frame bracket with 2 thick metal tabs that a heim joint would sit in between, than attaching the heim joint to the rod going to the LCA. Never did it but it was a thought i had at the time, figured it would eliminate the frame mount holes from getting elongated. Just an idea I had years ago. -
How To Remove Master Power Window Switch
ahardb0dy replied to NeilR's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
If you can find one at the junkyard! -
I got ya, you mounted the antenna base below the fender and ran the aerial thru the hole, I think I may just pick up a fender with the normal antenna hole from the junkyard, or see if I can find a universal antenna that will mount in the hole. Thanks appreciate the pics.

How To Remove Master Power Window Switch
ahardb0dy replied to NeilR's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Sometimes when the switches are on there way out you have to press on the switch real hard and the window will go up, can't help with a schematic but I do know if you don't have the pass. side lock button in place when you have the switch apart than none of the windows will do anything. -
I started pulling a power antenna from a 97 PF Saturday at the junkyard, I took the inner fender out and the bottom of the antenna had one bolt and the antenna cable does go into the cab, the one I saw had a rubber grommet, I removed the grommet and pulled on the cable but it didn't move at all so I have to agree that the cable needs to be unplugged from inside first. In my 87 Hardbody I don't recall having to remove the fender to remove the antenna.

Piaa 1500 Back-Up Lights Installed
ahardb0dy replied to OfftourRoadie96's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Not sure if they have 2 trigger relays but the wire marked "white wire with red dots" say's to connect it to the positive of the reverse lights, see step #6 in the instructions, so when you shift the truck into reverse it sends power thru the switch turning the relay on sending power to the lights, when the switch is in the other "on" position, The only thing I can think of if you look closely at the diagram, it appears the wire coming from the fuse and going to the relay is in the same position as one of the wires going to the switch, you can verify this by unplugging the relay and seeing if 2 wires are going into the same terminal. If that is how it is wired than when the switch is in the 2nd "on" position (when not in reverse), 12 volt power would be coming from the relay to the switch so when you flip the switch to the 2nd "on" it sends power to the relay turning the lights on. Sorry if confusing but that's all I can think of without seeing the actual wiring. -
Usually when the turn signals blink faster it means you have a bulb out somewhere, and if it only does it when you step on the brake I would check the brake lights. Are the lights that came with the KMA bumper LED's? as for the second question I replied in your other thread

more progress on the topless project.
ahardb0dy replied to BigDaddyChris.com's topic in Solid Axle Swaps, Hardcore Custom Fab
At the junkyard this past Saturday I came across a pathfinder that someone made into a convertible, it looked like a truck straight out of a Jurassic Park movie, it was all shades of gray camo, the rear was all open, they had what looked like the main hoop of a truck bed roll bar behind the seats and than another one at the rear of the truck with a steel rack sitting on top of it. The edges of the body where it was cut looked like someone spent some time finishing them off. Wish I had a camera. May try to run back Saturday and if I do I'll get some pics. It really looked like something made for a sight seeing business or similar. -

94 pathfinder originally had the power antenna, I know most Nissan pickups and PF's have the antenna on the top of the fender, (more forward on older ones, closer to windshield on the newer ones), my 94 had the power antenna but previous owner must have kept it (along with all the speakers and radio!!), so wanted to know if anyone has found a universal replacement antenna that will work in place of the OEM power antenna? I don't need or really want a power antenna and it would be easy to cut the rectangle hole to mount a non powered antenna in the top of the fender or replace the whole fender, but trying to keep costs down. P.S. - I did not search because the search sucks, (sorry) Thanks

What Is This Behing The Instrument Cluster
ahardb0dy replied to flyinwall's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
as was said that looks like a buzzer, but I've looked at the pic a few different times and it keeps popping in my head that it doesn't look factory or like it belongs there, but I don't know. Never saw anything that looked like that before in that location.
