so you are saying that we are all too stupid to understand? or just trying to make people think you are smarter than you really are?
-
sounds like a vaccum leak
-
hey spolar, what did you do with the transfer case with the broken chain? if you want to get rid of it i might be interested. -bounce-
-
250k no problems
-
don't weld it all the way down. You will warp the control arm. Will the ones off of a 87 fit? I have 2 of them.. just go to my house, talk to my wife and tell her i said you can have them. (i'm back in ohio) But you have to take them off of the axle.
-
thats a mile marker winch.. nothing wrong with them. the hydraulic version is used on military rigs
-
my 87 didn't have flares either... i need to do something. i drove all weekend on the roads without problems but i think i'm pushing my luck i have about 6-8 inches outside of the body
-
ouch... how in the hell did you do that? get her fixed.. you have to go wheeling with the big dogs end of april..lol
-
I'd keep the 55 chev.. no question there. I'd swapt the pathfinder motors, to give you teh grunt in the 95. then junk the 91, and sell the 95 for a few extra bucks. Clevland winters suck. all the salt on the roads.. a 10 year old car out there is half rusted through.

That IFS rig is now solid axle. I was specifically talking about hat one. They called it Peanut for its small size. I guess it didn't side hill worth a damn.
-
this has been done.. and then they always go back to solid axle.. the reason for this is theat 4wheel Independant suspensions dont tend to side hill very well

It took me all of about 5 min to drill out the pitman arm.. this is what you do. go down to autozone and get yourself a Free to use pitman arm puller, comes right of. Second, take the idler arm down to your company machine shop put it in the chuck, and go right throug it.. If you don't have that option, find a friend who has a drill press. take your time. You could do it by hand, but don't try to start fromt the big side, you'll hose up your bit and you won't cut it staight. go from the other side. This is not the recommended way though (required disclaimer)

mmm, i think you are correct... oh well, i am a huge nissan guy but i hate the nissan auto hubs.
-
This is off topic, but i see your still running your POS auto hubs.. i got some good manual ones if you want them. I think the 87 ones will fit yours... they are mile marker. never had any issues.
-
so does t hat mean your gonna have a winch to take wheeling the end of april? good job!
-
you know, it that first couple of pics of your idler arm, it looks bent backward toward the rear of the vehicle.. that could be very bad news. Maybe it isn't but in the pic it sure does.
-
i had that problem.. it was the auto hubs.. they work and friction and they were worn out.. I would start with a set of manual locking hubs.. they are cheap and will garantee your wheels are locked in. My stock 87 pathy with no LSD would go absolutely anywere unless i lifted a tire.. then it was a problem. I dont believe that his being or not being a LSD would cause the problem he is talking about.

the GI joes up in Washington aren't as good as the ones in oregon.. I used to fequent the one of Lancaster in salem, and i have one just down the steet in puyallup.. i can't even get a decent bench seat cover up here and i used to buy them for our work trucks... i odn't know why but the salem one is better than my local anyway.
-
same for me and if you stetch ot the coils, you can actually snap them back into place on the hangers.. i have nearly everything tidy'd up.. i didn't change any hoses, didin't move raidator.. although i need to change that hose, its kinked a little. but i think i can cut it and make it work, change it to a different angle.. and i still don't have a shroud on at all. waiting to change it to an electric fan

Isn't that plumb crazy? if so, thats not a sissy color, mopar baby! a buddy of mine had a plumb crazy road runner is school.. sweet ride
-
Yep, your clutch is due.. you are about to spend 180 bucks
-
Yes it is. those valves work more or less like any other hydraulic valve. Depending on how it works inside, the piston or ball wich could be froze up or the springs behind it could be broken or worn, there is alot of variables in how the insides of these can work, ALTHOUGH, i have never had one off of a nissan taken apart, but i work with that kind of stuff every day.. hydraulics of all kinds and makes..

you know, i have heard this from alot of people, chaning, modifying shifter cause it pops out or won't shift into 4low... i have no issues with this. goes in just fine doesn't pop out.
