  1. So your tore it down and checked the timing belt and made sure it lined up right?
  2. I've seen one in Ottawa with like 650,000kms on it. The guy was a member here, too. Still ran until recently I think. I've also seen one in the Junkyard (massive front end collision) with like 750 or something, no joke! I almost bought one from a guy in toronto that had 445k on it and he told me a little while ago that he ran into the guy that bought it and said it had almost 500k I think they can last a little while
  3. Or jack up the rear end but put blocks in front of the front wheels
  4. I need new bulbs in mine (they aren't white or bright enough) but I'm afraid of removing the cluster as my truck has 287,000 kilometers on it and the whole cluster still works!
  5. Any scores or reddish haze on the bearings or pitting and they should be replaced.
  6. I'll buy you a beer when you come up here if the timing is off.
  7. I did it with one side up, and when my ball joint and tie rods were shot you could definitely tell
  8. Yeah my 93's front end is perfect and it has 215k miles on it. Though my 95 had 115k miles when i got it and the front end was nearly toast. All depends on how it was driven I guess.
  9. A junkyard here wanted 130 dollars for a side mirror for my truck. I called the dealership and I could get a brand new one for 160 something. Tell me that's not highway robbery. Might as well buy new. Got both mirrors from B for 80.
  10. Are you sure the wiper is not seized. I've seen so many pathfinders (specifically your generation) where the wiper is stuck on the window somewhere. Try lubing it and "helping" it across the window. That free'd my fathers 2000 right up.
  11. I've not even had it 2 years but from looking underneath it looks to have been rustproof many times, I'm pretty sure the PO told me that before his family had it, it was done every year. And this isn't the oil spray stuff, it's thick rubbery stuff. I am going to have it krowned this year, after I clean out the frame (again) and spray ATF in there, also spraying it in the body panels through the little ports that were made from the undercoating place. We all don't live in a place where the roads are perfect, and nothing rusts or wears out....My year old shocks are already toast. And the explorer suspension is mushy, my dad test drove one before he bought the pathfinder and he said it just didn't feel right. Also how would you know what it drove like when new? And I think they're talking about the firestone incident (I remember seeing one rolled over with a blown tire.) when they say dangerous.
  12. If the timing is way off the belt is probably off a tooth. Also is the CEL on ?
  13. Hey would you mind helping me out the next time I'm down in the GTA? Would really appreciate it.
  14. Are you absolutely sure they put the timing belt on right? The shop put my dads on off by one tooth, after you set the spark timing it ran ok but still "not right". Like you're talking about.
  15. I must be lucky because I have 3 paths and none of them have this problem!
  16. I was listening to the radio a few months ago and they had this survey of "words that should be removed from the english language" there were two top voted ones. One I don't remember but the other was carbon foot-print. I couldn't agree more! I'd rather keep the pathie in good shape (not expensive at all), rather than have a car payment for the next 5 years. I just try to get rides with friends to put less wear and tear on my truck
  17. Yeah his doesn't have that option. Even with the switch unplugged the truck will still start.
  18. Got the 93 when I was sixteen. Didn't get to drive it for long, as I found severe frame rust. The gray one you see is the one I have at school. I bought it in my second semester of the first year because I couldn't stand driving my grandmothers car all the time. The third (loaded 95) I bought this February for 100 dollars. It needs a little welding but is only got 112k on it.
  19. Mine were perfect inside. Well they both were until someone kicked in the passenger side on
  20. I got some clear ones with orange bulbs off ebay but just to warn you they don't seal very well.
  21. Yeah I do have 3 I was just kidding. I keep all 3 in different places! That way no one can say anything. One is my DD, the other is in my grandmothers garage, and the 93 is in my friends backyard shed thingy lol.
  22. I would like something for the bottom frame rails eventually when I find another job. Need to start fixing my 93.
  23. I used 2 6mm allen keys. But it probably isn't the right way. But it worked.
