  2. right above the starter beside the oil filter between the tranny and oil filter is the oil pressure sensor remove it and put in a t fitting if u wanna keep your original sender or remove it and put in the new pressure gauge if u delete the original sender then ground out the wire to keep the light off
  3. with engine cold remove lower cooling housing remove rad cap remove drain in rad or lower hose remove upper hose remove overflow tube remove upper rad mounts remove rad install cooling housing to new rad then reverse the rest of the steps takes like 30 min to do, no technician should charge more than $20-80
  4. yeah are u sure it was going through coolant or was it just low? because a broken rocker and all that fuel build up would do what u said it was doing, a smoke screen get it fixed and u are good to go as long as the plugs on the other back of cylinders were ok
  5. u cant rebuild that engine for less than $800 and a lot of work and time and thats half assed just go buy a good used one for a few hundred, this is a ridiculous thread i just bought one with 180,000kms for $500 and its whisper quiet
  6. only thing to do is a compression test if the valve is moving freely, if it is still tight then remove the head and have a machine shop ream the valve guide properly
  7. jb weld lasted me over 8 years on a tank till i junked the truck sand the area first then let the jb cure for a the advertised time i have done oil pans that lasted years also radiators that lasted years gas will not eat through it i know for sure
  8. bolts are designed to stretch in diff areas for diff applications like in engines depending where threads end or shaft thickness, a bolt is just not a bolt LOL
  9. they are special grade and all but u probably would be ok with any box store ones for the intake but the length could be a prob too long and u ruin a head, if it was me i would get the OEM's from someone used or the dealer
  10. hey are u guys leaving the transfer case on the tranny when removing it?
  11. any gasket will work and also for xtra xtra protection install it with copper silicone or rtv sealant that stuff works so good it can also be used with out the gasket if it wasnt available
  12. ok so why are u drilling it out?
  13. you sure can u may need to do some wiring as the connectors for the switches like reverse lights are diff i believe
  14. it will come out the front i have done many u just need to work it and massage it also take note to where the positive wire position is it will only go back in with that wire in the right place goodluck
  15. nope u said that it was spraying into the throttle body so the fuel pump cant b the prob... oh wait they dont use a throttle body
  16. do as is stated torque loosen and retorque
  17. i have owned many vg's actually 6 or so i luv them but maybe i was hasty but from my experience with these engines if they are getting noisy they are done because i have never heard a noisy one besides the 3.3's i have had 3 of them over 500,000kms and never a noise and any other brands i have worked on were not worth the effort
  18. goodluck those hours would have had that worn out engine out so hope all goes well... and yes my current 1990 3.0 has over 500,000 kms and it is whisper quiet but does use some oil and smokes when it starts but it is my dune buggy and DD for the last 8 years these are bullet proof engines normally
  19. and if its got vlave lash noise what else is worn out? $200+ worth of parts and a few hours labor and it may have other issues as opposed to a new engine and tuned up around $600 and a few more hours of parts and u know what u got. i aint blind its just a little blurry from the mud flyin off ma tires oh and i have been a mechanic for 20 years
  20. he has a 90 pathfinder not a small block chevy LOL
  21. they are hydraulic and not adjustable start lookin for a new engine
  22. my 98 pathfinder is smashing into gear and stalling out when u shift from park to rev or drive it did it one day then a few days later it did it multiple times before it would go into gear without stalling it is just like popping the clutch on a manual the engine smashes to a halt. once it goes into gear it runs A1 shifts perfect and all all day long untill it sits overnight and it does it again. i have a 95 pathy i could switch the valve body with
