  1. Go figure, so I go out with the kids and decide to hit the trails...... Now I'm hearing this popping noise. I crawled under the truck and guess what, there is a rod to the rear of the driver side lca, that goes into a hole in the frame with some big bushings on it....it's sheared off at the frame. I've located the prob....but what in the heck is that " piece " called? I should be able to get it @ a jy if i know the name. Hopefully I can drive it there to show the guy because we can't pull our own parts here anymore.
  2. Problem issue #1 there is a regular fuse, 15 amp I believe, or 20....right by the battery, its an in line fuse so it should have a wire connected to it and should have a plastic casing over it. mine is right behind the battery. #4 If it is a whining noise, my alternator was overcharging once, had it checked at a local alternator shop 4 free, the diodes were shot or something, and it kind of sounded like a real faint whining noise kind of like radio interferance...the faster i reved it the higher pitched it was...turned out it was just a faulty alternator.
  3. I figured I'd better hurry up n send a Happy New Year to everyone before I get too many of these -alcohol- in me.....so, HAPPY NEW YEAR
  4. It is with the tools for the jack...i.e. lugwrench....you'll never know what it is until you look closely at it.
  5. Well, checked the infamous vaccuum line on the cc, it was torn on the end and loose so i cut the end off and put it on. Nice and snug, but still doesn't work. I'm on my wat to the parts store to get a new hose, it looks pretty dry-rotted......CROSS YOUR FINGERS 4 ME!! (I could care less about the cruise, lol, just bored during my holiday time off....can't hit the trails till I get my CV boots fixed -alcohol- pssd
  6. I can't believe this needs to be threaded, lol
  7. Lay a strip of barbed wire across the top of the door panel....
  8. I'm checking mine today when I install my fog lights....tired of not being able to see deer coming at me, and cant use the dang off road lights, they are too bright for the roads thats for sure.
  9. I just learned from u guys again...wow...I have my Off Road lights wired to the factory switch...they both went out...thought that they shorted out, nope, I replaced the corroded fuse behind the battery and poof....my lights work. This is what makes this "association" so sweeeet. THANX     -alcohol- -alcohol- -alcohol- -alcohol-
  10. My locks are pissing me off....if I get out with the key in the ignition, the Pathy laughs at me and locks its self. So now I had a spare key made and got a magnetic "hide-a-key" box and put it inside of my spare tire on the carrier....now when she laughs, it's not for long because I just walk around to the back and get my "other key"
  11. Personally, I wouldnt wait until the plugs are shot, and just do your basic flushes as you mentioned....tranny, coolant, diff, transfer...etc. like he said above, your manual tells you what you need, but it all depends on how hard you are on your vehicle.
  12. i used my grinder to get part way through the bushings, then vise grips and a torch....that was the hardest part....then I think I used a bench vise to press the spindles out. be careful with the tiny bolts that you need to un-do on top of the ball joints, I broke one off but the rest are holding it just fine. (lube them up first)
  13. Once again, thanx 4 coming through with new info!!
  14. WTF can I get out of a $50 wal-mart git card for the pathy? help....dont need floor mats (I use the floor) I know I can get something there.... :help: :help: :help:
  15. Must be nice 2 pack up and go off roading for the rest of your life with no other concerns, wow. I'm so jealous
  16. Doesn't make sense 2 me, maybe the old "split rim" (2 piece rims which could break under pressure and cause injury) but the bead lock just "locks the edge of the tire to the rim". hmmm. wierd Floridians....lol
  17. no kidding, Im going to kick out my windows, get 4 donut spares to ride around on, rip out all but 1 seat, remove the bumpers, hood, spare and roof rack.....I think this will help some. -bounce- -bounce-
  18. Im trying to get my wife t o get me a welder 4 xmas.....maybe I can do mine too....
  19. 1. kick them both out and duct-tape two (3-4 D cell) maglights to the hood or bumper. 2. get night vision goggles. (expensive) 3. get one of those million watt hand held sot lights and hold it out the window like you are spotting deer. 4. listen to those other guys........
  20. as 88 said, definately torsion bar issue.
  21. All in fun, I originally thought it was about a winch sticker or something, (but then I read the whole post)
  22. No offense to anyone here, but if shes like most (not all) of the women that I know, she will forget its back there, and keep calling until someone with knowledge shows up or call a tow truck, or just drive it till the dangling muffler finally falls off.(those, like my wife, who would never turn a screwdriver to help me work on the pathy) sly
  23. If you look closely the shovel has a saw built in, and chops well if u sharpen 1 side....doesnt cut as good as a real saw though.
