i used electric/contact cleaner type stuff on my ford's IAC. i just doused is a few times and then let it completely dry out. seemed to work for me.

according to the post 2 posts up, you will be covered if it was originally purchased in Indiana.

i'm not sure what all the reliability qualms are about the VQ. i did a mess of research before i got my 01 and the only comparable vehicle i found to be more reliable (survey-wise) was the 4runner, but hey, only a toyota's gonna be as reliable as a toyota.

i've ran both, i *think* i can maybe feel a bit more ooomph with the good stuff, but i don't think it'll hurt anything to run the cheap stuff.

wouldn't the 'feel' of the horses also have a lot to do with the gearing. perhaps it's just that the gearing is low (or would it be high?).

what year truck do you have? i believe in my 01 the ashtray light is always on. don't know about the glovebox since my light is burnt out and have no clue where to find a replacement.

saw the pic of the head-unit and was thinking "wow, that's pretty cheesy"...but then I checked out the vent. now that's beyond cheesy, it's so bad it's almost good. al

just bought mine used with a little under 90k on it and she runs great.

no apology needed, just don't try and do it again i've seen two different kinds of the spray on stuff. there's spray caulk foamy stuff that sucks as caulk and would likely equally suck as sound deadener. but i've also seen a spray on insulator (though i can't recall exactly, it may have a different intended application) that dries nearly solid. i was thinking of the latter. but now that i've read the above linked article i'm thinking it probably wouldn't be that great as a sound deadener.

you could be right, but i think it's more likely that these are just old pics he had lying around from different stages of truck repair.

this stuff sounds great mws. i've always wondered is the spray on expanding insulating/foam stuff they sell at home depot would work.

that's tcrote's truck from the other pathfinder forum. i don't think he sprayed the belly just so no one would notice the rust.

i think what he's saying is that the last time they were actually 'cool' was in 1989...after that it's just like watching Miami Vice reruns and thinking 'they used to get babes looking like that...'
