  1. Cig. lighter...that's where I ran my CB, and you've also got a good ground right there as well.
  2. That thing's far too tall. Sure it's strong, but that's about it.
  3. See, we've been using E 10 for the better part of a year now and I never noticed any sort of MPG reduction. Oh late, however, it' a different story...probably close to 14 MPG or so, down from about 16. Yikes...and the price of a gallon keeps going up!
  4. Oh, sorry, they look bigger than that...how deceiving.
  5. Those look like implants...don't think they'll get rid of the noise
  6. You can remove that fairing from the front, and as far as I know still keep the rest of the rack. Mine does the same thing and there's a TSB on this. The dealer actually has a repair kit for it which I'm sure is a complete, overpriced waste of $$. My advice? Remove it or learn to deal with it (that's what I've learned to do)
  7. So much for the advertising for nissanpathfinders.com I have on the sides of my truck!
  8. I read an ebay listing for one that read something like, "makes your truck look like a serious off roading machine..." or something to that extent, LOL! By the time you realize you've exceeded your trucks danger angle you're already picking your change bin's contents off of the headliner.
  9. ebay is your friend Lot's of cheap clinometer's as well as some more expensive ones from overseas. Start your search there. Installation? Find a hot lead for the red wire on the back of the clinometer, find a nut that's attatched to metal with no plastic in between for the black wire (ground)...solder/crimp/splice/etc and you're done.
  10. I don't think they do...but IIRC some company's shocks required you to specify 96-99 or 99.5+, so you may be right. Even so, it can't be that much of a difference.
  11. Also, avoid the 5000's as well. I've found out the hard way these are stiff as hell, unless there's a load in the rear...then they're a lot more road friendly. Off road with no load they're incredibly punishing.
  12. Thanks, I'll look into them as well.
  13. What I REALLY want to avoid is that annoying early morning squeaking from the pads being cold.
  14. Do you have any personal experience with them? Raybestos...any good? Looking at about $30 a set, full ceramic.
  15. I'm in the market for new pads and rotors for my '02. I've got the rotors chosen but really have no idea about what types of pads to be looking into. I'm going to go for ceramic obviously, but as far as brands...I really don't know much about any. What has everybody used? What should I be on the lookout for? Thanks.
  16. You win nothing, seeing as this is a VQ mileage thread and not VG33
  17. About to turn 92K this week on my VQ. I still need to do the power valve screw mod. for safety's sake, and last week I had to get it safety inspected and (would have) failed for lack of a rear section of exhaust that never made it out of a trail with me. Got that taken care of. But it was also discovered that both rear wheel cylinders were leaking and my drivers side front wheel bearing was FUBAR'ed. Front brakes are also about done with. After the exhaust, and the wheel cylinder replacement it passed w/ flying colors. Next step is a front brake overhaul (minus new calipers) Not that this was related to engine or powertrain, but I am fast fast approaching the 100K mark on my Pathy. Still purrs like new.
  18. Doesn't settling of the springs usually take the better part of a week or so? Even longer? Those new bearings will ease up with time I think. What kind did you get? Did you go for OEM Nissan or the KYB's? I got the KYB's when I did my OME lift (about 4 months ago) and after 2 decent wheeling trips they're creaking horribly. They're crap and should be free!
  19. I wouldn't even think of loosening those nuts. They have a MFG tourque spec. for a reason (can't remember it off the top of my head...should be in FSM or Haynes somewhere) How long have you had the lift on?
  20. That's exactly what I get, sometimes a bit higher when I travel to Connecticut on the highway the entire time. Next time you fill, divide total miles (km's) traveled on that tank by how many gallons (liters) it takes to refill it (read: Trainman )
  21. 95-03? WTF? With that accurate of a description, I can only imagine as to the dependability of those pieces. They're probable re-painted, used Kia Sportage springs or something.
  22. "Leather cleaner" implies you actually have a real "leather" steering wheel, or you're lead to believe.
  23. My steering wheel on my '02 is beginning to do the same thing (though not as bad) where my hand makes contact with it in the same spot. They're pretty shabby it seems, and I've got 90K.
  24. First off, welcome to NPORA. You should delete this topic from here and re-post the same thing in the 96-04 R50 section of the board...I would venture to say a good 50%+ of us use the OME setup. This is mis-categorized.
  25. Chris I just PM'ed you about the TB removal...nevermind, I forgot your write-up explains it all!!
