  1. I just did a 255/70-16 on my 2002 when I did the OME lift on it, no other modifications required and it looked great matched with the added lift. Probably your best bet.
  2. I had one in my R50 that I got from Petsmart...looked exactly like Trainman's and IIRC it only cost about $75.00. Worked great, just need to make sure it's nice and tight or it rattles a bit. I mainly used it to clip things to. Google search... That's the Petsmart one, it's listed online for $69.99. Was completely expandable/collapsible to make it fit just right...
  3. Holy @#*!!! Catastrophic engine failure. Damn, that's brutal.
  4. Yeah, it was lifted with the OME lift and KYB/Rancho's. It rode great, minus the balancing issues it had. Those tires are pretty comporable to BFG's. As far as cheap(er) tires go, I think they were one of the best.
  5. I had those same tires on my truck in the same size too. I got a lot of flack from people for spending the money on General "Crappers" (which, when I bought them were $91 each from tirerack.com) But I enjoyed them thoroughly. Great tire for the money, and I got a good 40K out of them. Never punctured, torn, nothing. They did a great job with mud resistance too, better than TA/KO equipped Pathys too. The ONLY beef I had with them was that they would NEVER stay balanced. I'd take it in for rotation and balancing and they'd go for a few weeks. Then they'd start shaking again making it noticeable in the steering wheel. You have to keep them balanced and rotated at the required intervals. Enjoy, they look great!
  6. Mine had crapped themselves when I sold the truck. I dunno, about 8K miles on them and a handful of wheeling trips? The cheaper money paid for them was certainly shown in their build quality!!
  7. Holy sh!t he did it. I've waited and waited to see this done to one. I can remember the numerous threads about whether or not this was at all possible in an R50 a few years ago (not that I hang around this or other off-road related forums anymore) Well done Tyler Truly an amazing machine and best looking R50 around.
  8. Nice Subie...I really like the way they've sculpted those things now. Bummer about the truck though (I know how you feel!)
  9. Oh man I needed to read a post like that after the day I had!! IB4TL!!!!!
  10. Sounds like a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Sucks man, I've always been a fan of your truck too!
  11. Interesting...they were definately brass on my QR25. Bummer, I thought they'd have the same part #!
  12. Yeah I had that for quite awhile when the rear section fell off because it was so rusted on a wheeling trip...I had nothing from right in front of the rear axle back. To be honest, it didn't at all sound different. If it were going to sound any different, the resonator would have needed to come off as well...see pic...this is what came off.
  13. Wait...it was This guy who first brought up the fact.
  14. You're right. I think this was realized by Bowtied in the pinned topic related to VQ engine damage. According to the FSM, there are none shown on the AT's.
  15. Thanks for the update...I was wondering what the verdict was going to be and even more interested to see if, based on your trip to the dealer, what I had heard from my VQ that one day was in fact a screw falling out. My question is: how can you leave it in there if the engine's making such a terrible noise? I believe late build 2000 Pathy's were the first to get the VQ's, but it's happening on 04's even. It's a terrible design flaw!! And they don't give a rat's about it either. I'm pulling for you man...I really hope those 1-800-a$$-hole Nissan North America d!ckwads don't pull the out of warranty sh!t on you. It's reasons like this I may never buy another NEW nissan again...they're build quality and customer relations have simply gone down the sh!tter. Keep us updated! Gianni
  16. LOL thanks Yep. another classic issue. I'm not bashing Nissan service managers by themselves and saying they're peons compared to the rest of the industry...in fact I think they're actually pretty good (compared to some of the other dealers I've dealt with) and the denials they have are probably from a higher power instructing them to do it...they're not going to just admit to every common issue they're cars have. That could cost the company millions in settlements. Nissans of late (2000+) just seem to have some inherent issues with them that are worse than normal it seems (powertrain wise)
  17. No kidding...Nissan service managers love to plead the fifth with this problem. I had the SAME EXACT issue with my 2002 QR25DE powered SE-R Sentra (same engine as the 4 cylinder Altima's) My engine actually DID eat a screw that bent the sh!t out of the side electrode on the plug...I bogged down on 3 cylinders with 3/4 acceleration on the skinny pedal in third gear doing about 65 mph (on the highway) The QR's are NOTORIOUS for this problem (esp. the production date 2001-late models which mine was) The entire engine was replaced with a 2005 one under warranty...and the service manager claimed he'd never once heard the issue before. That's exact reason was why I ended up getting rid of that car and into the Pathy...mainly because of it's still Japanese-built roots (the Sentra's prooudly made in Mexico) Little did I know this issue is becoming mainstream with them. They need to get their head out of their a$$es is what needs to happen...and stop meddling in joint ventures with Renault and GM!
  18. It's better to be safe than sorry...agree it would be better to know before you take it to them so you can tell them exactly what to look for.
  19. HA! I took that pic. with him on the Outer Banks in winter...one of the deeper water crossings
  20. Hey...weren't you selling your truck a while back? Gains w/ the pop charger will probably be negligible...though your a$$ dyno may tell you different
  21. You would be lucky to get too much of anything at this point, though, a running one would be better obviously. The market for these things has gone down substantially over the last year, with the exception of MAYBE the 04 Platinum Editions or the LE's. I say give it a patch job to get it idling properly and find yourself a wholesaler to pawn it off to. That may be your best bet for getting a decent amount of $$ for it. "Resale value" for R50's in virtually non-existent.
