When I do mine, I loosen the drivers side rear-most as much as I can while allowing it to still grab the threads and remove the other 3 (2 fronts and passenger rear) and then support the whole thing with my jack. Then I pivot the whole thing around the one bolt that's still holding the skid on enough to access the filter and allow it to drain while still supporting the skid on the jack. Works great -
All Mode=issues (knob) Lever X-fer case=fine. Steer clear of LE's if you don't want this issue.

Agreed. Chris, that's a great looking truck. Wish I were on the market for a new one right now, I'd make the drive up there specifically for that one.

Take care of it and it will take care of you. Every car and truck power train on the road today has it's issues. We're not talking weak rods or anything here either...if the powervalve screws are the worst problem (known so far), then do the afternoon's-worth of work and loc-tite them. Problem solved. The VQ power train, with the proper maintenance (which I know you do Dan) is equally as dependable as the VG. I don't think there's really anything else to be said that you don't already know about it, so I'm not going to try to "sell you". You're enough of a Nissan geek as anyone else who knows the ins and outs of this brands mechanicals. Enough said. If you can score a 5-spd VQ pathy, pencil me in for a joy ride would you please? DEFINATELY a good move there. To FUELER: 01+ LE's came standard with All Mode (switch), SE's took the lever until 2003 IIRC, the All-Mode became an option on SE's. BTW, 98K on mine, another month till I hit the big 100 on mine

I have them as well and they were a B-!-T-C-H to install. No drilling required, just a lot of elbow grease. -
Not necessarily, but seeing as you'll be removing the caliper and bungee cording so it doesn't hang by the brake line, you'll already be in there...might as well go at it all at once.. Just make sure you have a real strut compressor before starting the job.

Yep, that's what I meant, the bearings only. I too have KYB struts and really like them, they're an excellent value.

I know three other people off the of my head (not including myself) who used them. They're crap and wear extremely quickly. I've had them for about 10K miles and they creak like a rocking chair already. As a matter of fact, I've yet to see anyone use them and not have issues with them. Pony up and order Nissan ones from your local parts bin. There's a good number names tossed around this board that people order from.

I say bad bearing, esp. if you didn't change them out when you did the mount. If you get new ones now, just make sure they're OEM and not the KYB's.

The springs themselves don't make your ride that much rougher...cheapie shocks in the rear do that! (says me with my RS5000's! )

They don't work. As stated, they've been tested (plastic covers "invisible" spray, etc.) on mainstream TV. Those gimmicks are about as useful as the rest of the last 4 pages of sh!t you find in Motor Trend and Car and Driver, MAXIM and FHM. Don't believe me? Pick up any one of them and take a look...you'll find disappearing license plate spray right next to the pills that grow your manhood 28 inches I'm puzzled; do you really think messing with a plate to make it invisible to Johnny-Law's lazy-day cameras is a good idea? Irregardless of whether or not you're ever caught??

I hate to say it, and I know you already know it, but you got what you paid for...always ALWAYS spend the extra $$ on rotors and pads. While I can't help but say told you get what you put into a lot of things, I admire you being totally honest! Anyhow, even if you COULD resurface those things, I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. I'd be more concerned about them flying to bits on the lathe than anything else. Spend the $$, buy some decent discs. My .02.

Devout Cummins fans will never buy a Nissan over their pride and joy and that's the bottom line, and I don't think the rest of the American market, who may be interested in a Titan, would ever buy a diesel powered one...given the choice they will always go gasoline. My .02.

5 inches? The only truck in any of those shots that looked like it had anything remotely close to 5 inches of lift was that Range Rover, unless those tires you're running on the green Pathy are 35's or something. There just doesn't look like 5 inches of lifts'-worth of body clearance in any of those photos. Nice snorkels, though
