  1. Any body here watch the Red Green show????
  2. You can always install a block heater. You'd get hot air in about 3 min with one of those.
  3. 1) WD-40 2) Duct Tape If it should move and it doesn't, use the WD-40 If it moves and it shouldn't, use the Duct tape. Should solve a few problems out there.
  4. Seriously, the trash can is the best place to mount one of those. I have a few friends who have/ had it, and they all agree it not what it's cracked up to be. While it offers commercial free music, the selection of stations actualy worth listening can be counted on two hands. This, with a monthy loop of the same music on those few channels. What that means is that the stations pretty much make a playlist, hit play, and change the playlist about once a month, if that. Finally, the service isn't that great. While it still is a growing system, there were wayyyyy to many holes where no signal was available, and this is in the Bay area mind you. Hope I didn't piss you off, just wanted to let you know what to expect. M.M.
  5. Oh yeah, the rancho kit doesn't fit. I'm gonna have to modify the drop bracket that comes down form the idler arm out away from the center link, then make a new bracket to attatch to the centerlink. Nothin too hard, just time consuming.
  6. Relocate, relocate, relocate. Check my domain page in my sig to see where I stuck it. With the Thorley's, it's actualy a bit tighter now than before, and I'm glad I put the kit in. It was only like 35 or 40 bucks from summit for the perma-cool kit, 88 has found them even cheeper on ebay. In my mind, its a solid investment, plus you can add an oil cooler while your at it, and do you engine a huge favor.
  7. Just my 2 cents, but if you are replacing your exhaust, do your O2 sensor while your in there. You'll thank me later.
  8. I'm pretty sure it a sound thing. Only allowed so many decibles of sound output. Some mufflers are not "blessed" as street leagal, so no go. Kinda the same idea as cheater slicks. Just enough to get you past the law, yet still retain some performance.
  9. Lets put it this way. I pulled the heat shielding off the suspect side, and the broken portion of the stud fell to the ground. So to answer #2, yes, you should be able to tell, cause it won't be there. #1 (never was one for order) shouldn't have to remove to see if they are broken, but if they are, they will have to be removed to get the full extent of the trouble you are in. Mine was broken off about a 1/4 inch into the head. #3 Shouldn't be problem, but it takes an inspection of the old to tell. Mine were completely shot from havin the flow of hot gasses go by, so you if do have a broken stud, expect the same. #4 Not necesarily, but it is most likely. If it quiets down after warm up, 98% sure its a stud. Otherwise, might just be a noisy lifter, which open a whole new can of worms. Good luck Mate M.M.
  10. Yes, air horns are definately fun, plus in this case, alot better than sticking your head out the window and yelling "BEEP!"
  11. As far as removing the cover, there should be screws in the back which hold it on. Not sure how many, but if I remember right, a #2 phillips should be able to get them. Dunno on the rest.
  12. Those would look good with Calmini products. All their stuff is the same shade blue, good color.
  13. Yah, I love the white, but even better, I really like the two tripometers feature. Pretty cool, I usualy do one for gas, and the other for the trip itself. Coolness. Oh 88, please send me that link for the LED's you were talkin about.
  14. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the OD is also refered to as the Lock-up function of the tranny. What it is doing is creating a solid mechanical link between your engine and the tranny, rather than the fluid link in your torque converter. Due to losses in the fluid transfer of power, the lock up eliminates this, and is the result of the "loss of power" you feel when taken off. It has definate advantages, but some disadvantages as well when climbing hills and such. As far as leaving it on, duno, I have a manual tranny heh.
  15. Pull the bulb? Seriously though, no idea, could try manually pushin the door close switch and seeing what happens when you drive around. process of elimination I guess. Good luck.
  16. w00t, got a Bosch o2 sensor in my stocking heh.
  17. That really sounds like the front crossmember. I know you said from the rear, but have you checked them? Here's the link I think you were lookin for. Mr Jim to save the day again
  18. I wouldn't recomend pulling any lights just to sell it. Thats just bad Karma man. As for as gettting it to go out, and fixing the problem, if you pulled an emission code, check the EGR valve. Sometimes, all ya need to do is pull it off and clean it. The Cat converter is mostly like not the culprit, but not impossible. I have heard of the honeycomb insides deteriorating, but that was due to repeated fill ups of really bad gas. I's say play with the ERG valve and see what that gets ya. Good Luck. M.M.
  19. K.I.S.S.= Keep it simple stupid
  20. I had all the pieces, cat, muffler pipe. Paid about 175 for the high flow cat and 40 flowmaster. A 10' section of 2.25 cost me 20 bucks, so thats cheep stuff.
  21. I ran out of time and had to get a shop to button up mine, basically from the header Y pipe back. Charged me 150 bucks, put in the piping, cat, muffler, and O2 sensor tube, as well as bending all the pipe and welding it all together. Had it back to me that afternoon. Shop around and ask.
  22. Seems to me, that since the heads are aluminum, they could easliy warp. A warped head is not an unlivable thing, but definately gets worse with time. Good luck with it, let us know how you like the new cams. I think I speak for a majority here, every dime you put into her is worth it down the road.
  23. Yes, most kind of you Pete. Aarron mentioned it earlier in a prior conversation and hooked me as well, so don't mind me tagging along.
  24. Yah, I'd rather have a cheep, 20 dollar item as my weak link, rather than the whatever it costs for the other parts. Peace of mind in the other parts is what the kit is all about. your complaint is the main reason is why I love the Calmini kit. It creates a solid system, where the weakest part is the place where one, yes it is most likely to fail, but on the other hand, it is the easiest to replace. Makes sense in my mind. M.M.
  25. Here are my before and after pics http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_image...5562_3_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_image...5562_4_full.jpg Edit by 88: first pics not working, CarDomain sucks...bleh
