  1. Ok, gettin tired of my crappy caster issues. She's all over the place when drivin down the road. Right now, the caster is out as far as it can go on the upper control arms. My question is this; If I tighten down on the tension rods on the lower arm, would this help at all? I'm running about 1" off the bump stops, so she isn't cranked up to the max. I've taken her to a few alignment shops now, all with the same results.
  2. Vice grips work great, and if that buggers it up even more, I've had great results with pounding the next size smaller 12 sided socket on, then using that. It has to be 12 sided, or it will never work, but by poundin it on, the 12 sides act like teeth and grab the bugger. I have done this a few times succesfully. Good luck. M.M.
  3. Sweet, lemme know how that goes. Might be joining the body lift club here before too long. Heck, might even want to take a pic or two and do a write up when you're all done.
  4. 31" BFG's 15X7 wheels. Lowest I've ever run em is about 26 lbs/in^2. What the lowest you can safely wheel on?
  5. Welcome. Never heard of Jim Connor, might try a search. $120 bucks for a lift ain't all bad, but you should try for the body too while you're at it. See how much he wants for it, and if you don't want it, there may be a few around here that might.
  6. Yes, as friend is a must, take it from me. I tried to man-handle one just in and out of my cargo area and darn near had a hernia. Things weigh upwards of 75+ lbs.
  7. As far as your t-bars are concerned, depends on how old and tired they are. Have they been cranked up before? How's the front end ride? How long have they been in there? If they have been in there a while, and you are going Calmini everything else, might as well go ahead and replace em, since it will be easy to do while you're in the same area. M.M.
  8. I'm sure some one will correct me if I'm wrong (88), but all the aftermarket UCA's do is keep ball joints at correct angles. Other than that, the CV's and steering are still affected by crankin till the bumpstops. I ride mine at about 1" from the bump stops, haven't busted anything yet. But then again, I replaced everything except CV's and lower balls when I did it. Gotta love the Calmini steering kit. M.M.
  9. Oh, same pair heh, wondered where those ended up. Well that good, then, but even so, you shouldn't have to do that much work to a pair of arms if they were suposedly designed for our rigs.
  10. Brank new battery, but once again, how many CCA's? Might be too low for where you're at.
  11. When I did mine, I replaced every single stud and nut with the factory upgrade studs and nuts. FIgure it this way: Do you really want to crawl back in there to replace a busted stud if it does happen, even if unlikely? Might as well have peace of mind to go with your new rumble. M.M.
  12. take off the sway bars and you'll get even more flex. Oh and 510's are the best racecar out there.
  13. Yah, thats the same kinda probmlem I had with em. It appeared to me, that if you didn't center that spline perfectly in the center of the Arm, you would never be able to get the alighnment right. Since the fit was so crappy on mine, it moved all over the place, just when tightening it down. Hence why I still think AC is crap. Hopefully you'll have better luck. M.M.
  14. If you have the capability, pull it yourself, and bring it in. I blew my motor @ 176k, bought a 30k jobber from a japanese motor import place for $750 and did all the work myself. Might want to consider that route, unless you are plaiin on upgradingin internal components.
  15. Thats pretty sweet on the spare cover, the little windy road. Yah what Toad said, do a search. I have a '91 played with her quite a bit, so ask away (just use search first to prevent the quick slap down)
  16. I have rancho 9000, love em, but spendy
  17. Haha too funny. Those who don't have the carrier want it, and those that do, want to take it off.
  18. Hey Skrill, how did those AC arms fit up on your rig? When I had Ac's they were sloppy around the spindle shaft.
  19. PB Blaster is great stuff. When I did my exhaust, I soaked every nut bolt and stud for 24+ hours, didn't break a single one. What cracks me up about the stuff, is the design of the can. Looks like one of those gimmick things trying to convince you to buy it. If I didn't know better and saw it, I'd say it was a gimmick. Swear by it now though. M.M.
  20. I run 10W-30 syth. Dunno, thats just what I run, usualy Mobil 1. Do a search for "Oil Poll" A while back there was a poll on what types of oil guys were using.
  21. Yea, make sure to get that batter checked. You made need to get one with a few more Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) to deal with that cold of temps. (-20C is darn cold) M.M.
  22. THermostat is a good idea as well, if it's not too late
  23. Hey Pete, if can come across a 2nd set, lemme know what shipping would be to 94590. Thanks. I'd trade mine, but part of the black plastic trim is broken off, and I couldn't give that away as a trade. M.M.
  24. Mr.P, when you say that, I get the idea you make connections like the radio operator from "Down Periscope"
