  1. so mws, how did you wire yours up? did you use a fan controller or did you just wire both speeds up to a switch? I ran mine with a fan controller. the low speed only comes on once a certain temp is reached, i have the controller also wired into my A/C switch as well, so that when i turn on the A/C the fan comes on, and then finally i have the high side ran inside with a switch that i can turn on whenever i feel like it, even tho i havent needed it. I have been wheeling with it, slow stuff, but the low speed has been sufficient thus far.....
  2. buy yourself an electric fan controller from your parts store, and have at it....(they come with instructions)
  3. seriously dude. read the posts. i answered your shock question. also, torsion bars are twisted to gain its spring capabilities. so cranking them up is how you actually gain the lift. it is essentially twisting them to put more torque on the bar. CRANK YOUR TBARS that is the only way to gain an acutal suspension lift. if you keep saying you dont wanna crank them do a body lift
  4. ok good, thanks 88, thats what i wanted to know.
  5. yea which is what i thought. i was just making sure because of the randmonness of the 3spd autos...... didnt know if this same 3 speed was used in the earlier trucks, which then might mean that there is another model 5 spd.....so at least i have another who agrees with me so far....
  6. I need to find out whether or not the 87s with the 3 speed autos are a different block pattern compared to the 4 speed autos. I am actually hoping someone on here has an 87 5 speed and can tell me what the model number is for their transmission. basically i am trying to help out MileHigh on here, he is trying to figure out what transmission he needs to do an auto to manual swap. What i am hoping is that his 87 will accept the most commonly used 5 speed used throughout the 87-95.....i am assuming this is correct because i have yet to hear of another style 5 speed that was ever in a pathfinder....
  7. THE RUNDOWN.... First things first. The torsion bars will not affect your truck, it will only cause more wear on ball joints, if you do not opt for the after market UCAs, which put your balljoints back into alignment so they do not wear out as fast. Yes cranking your torsion bars will put the CV axles at a steeper angle than stock, but 2.5 to 3 inches will not destroy them as soon as you drive on them, nearly everyone that has posted has a 3 inch suspension lift, so we are all doing the exact same thing you are trying to achieve. You do not need to replace your rear shocks if you do not want to at this point in time. But if you choose to, you must get longer shocks to compensate for the 3 inch lift. The there are two front control arms on a Pathfinder Independent Front Suspension. The upper, and the Lower. These literally are in the shape of a capital A. They both attach at a central point (this is also the point at which your axle runs to, and the place your tire gets bolted on). Once you rasie the front of the pathfinder with a torsion bar crank, the lower control arms will "drop" to a steeper angle as well as the axle giving you the 3 inches of ground clearance desired. The aftermarket UCA is actually a bit longer, and angled to compensate for the 3 inch lift, putting less strain on your upper balljoints. So in a sense UCAs are preferred for lift and are included in mostly every kit you will find, but they are not totally needed, there are a few people on the board just running a torsion bar crank without UCAs. The only thing i would suggest in the future is to possibly go look at your truck when we try and describe things to you that way you might not be so confused, and then if you have any knowledge of basic hand tools, you should be able to complete the install yourself.
  8. i believe Tmorgan is selling his....check over on www.pradolifts.com (the forums) its an ARB.....
  9. i dont think you need the cat for correct back pressure....what are people gaining by puttin on a "free flowing exhaust"!!!!!!!!
  10. he found when it was fully spooled it was cutting his synthetic line.....(the ARB Bumper that is) personally i really like the tube bumpers, but i would like them better if the gaps were filled in....a little more protection....
  11. i didn't prove you wrong. trust me, i wouldnt buy from them either, so we can both be right. but i knew 16k sounded way high for around me.
  12. a quick search reveals this one.... know not as low miles as he wanted...but close 03
  13. 16.5 seems like a lot for my area...well even Chris's area. I think that is a reasonable price....
  14. sounds good, sucks that you have to wait tho!!!! oh well i hope its worth it man, and good call on the parts build up!!!
  15. im glad you enjoyed it. tinkering and finding things out on your own is always fun!!!!
  16. i agree go with the ARB....(btw we have to meet up again sometime, i just got my manual swap done, along with picking up an ARB (bullbar) on ebay from a guy locally ) otherwise, sweet parts list....hows the hunt going on another pathy???
  17. shelly still awaiting 4wd??? i thought u were farther along than that!!!! so may i ask why not just SAS it???
  18. no i dont believe so. its either good, or its gone bad.
  19. im sorry it was a quick reply. I realize they do not have UCAs for that i am sorry. but i have installed this lift therefore know more about it than you do....
  20. no, all you gotta say is im a part of a prototype lift companies website and saw that your r50 seems to have a bunch of lift and we were just curious about it. here is the site, and here is my number, i would love to possibly talk to you about your pathfinder. thank you and good day. thats all you gotta say pezzy not mention the stalkers...he can find out about us later

    tranny cooler

i believe the stock cooler is integrated into the radiator itself.
  22. what? he did not put a quest alty in Nissie truck!!!!! its a 90 amp.....what a dumbass....he is lying to one of us.....
  23. yea, i am in the early stages of doing my SAS and honestly i just (not to bring up an argument on which is better) like the way leafs look. to me they seem to look more "hardcore" if you will but since i am not going for looks, i am keeping the rear coiled because of simplicity and also because coils seem to function better anyway.....
