Actually he's got some melted slots (from what I gathered) and I have my 87 block around here somewhere that if its the same and I can find it I will ship with the other parts hes getting...it will be a lot of clipping wires and splicing them in unless you get the tool to remove the connectors properly...but it can be done right if done carefully I would imagine...

yea but it sounds like the caddy didnt get messed up so much and the other cars up front possibly had already hit and maybe the caddy got stopped in time and he bumped him then he/she let off the brake and or just was pushed into the car in front of them... b/c if he didnt do more than scracth the caddy bumper and hardly ding up the saturn and then the dakota and other car are smashed...so I'd put the initial crash on the dakota...I've seen several crashes wehre there someone never hit the brakes and smashed into someone so the person behind them wasn't paying as close attention as they should and got hard on the brakes and stopped but it wasnt enough for the folks behind them so they get rear ended and pushed into the intial wreck...

sounds like a wreck had already happened adn you guys got collected up in it...I had a friend that totaled 5 cars...he hit a lady doing about 55...he was only responsible for her car and she was responsbile for hte one in front of her and so on and so forth b/c "they did not leave enough stopping distance between one another"

I think you can check the resistivity?
-
heh yea I had that happen...ran inside opened a beer poked a hole in the top and ran a small screw through it pulled up on the pedal to crush the cap to the right height and its been working for something like 6+ years now... if you have a manual the same thing can happen for the clutch interlock switch...I have mine bypassed but when I just swapped the clutch MC out I saw that that lil rubber cap had popped out sometime...

hang on lemmie get a pic of the resistor/coil and its on your driver side fender well...I'll have to search to see if I have any pix... Ok so waht I think you described is the coil wire...Find the wire marked C of the dist cap...follow it over to the driver side fedner well...and waht it connects to is the coil...and what the coil connects to is the resistor...see attached pix...

the 3.0 engines are the same (even the car 3.0s with different bolt ons)...the best engine would be one that you see run prior to removal and/or have one pass a compression check...get it from a reliable source and you should be good...but with anything used you would want to replace a lot of parts/seals/gaskets/tb/etc but still run the risk of the oil pump being bad or a ring blowing out on you X miles down the road...but for the most part these are tough lil engines...I dont know if I would shell out the $ for a brand new crate engine and if I were I would just build up my busted one if the block is still good Roost did bring up a good point...you want to make sure that the crank snout is right... I have built up a pathy engine from a maxima (which is for sale) but I never got the chance to run it to check it out other than a compression check and the internals

I'd reverse engineer it...change it a lil bit make a kit and sell...or possibly even just get a drawing set together and sell them for like $20 a shot until it gets posted all over the net...

I have an almost new coil (and an older coil that was still good but got replaced while trouble shooting) and the resistor pack these guys are speaking of if you need one for a decent price compared to the new price...shoot me a PM if so

is it an aftermarket radio? if so there may be an inline fuse or the fuse on the radio? Depending on the options on your truck will depend on where there is a fuse...you can look to see if there are wires attached to each port to know which one should have fuses...the access panel should have your fuses labeled...

does your horn work? if not then theres an issue with the connecting ring and copper spring connector do-dads...there also could be an issue with the switch for cancel on the brake pedal...

havent heard of a 4" trailmaster lift... but I think we'd need more details on it to figure out which lift it is and y it wont work...
-
when I have issues like that usually what I do is go to advanceautoparts.com or napaonline.com and cross ref the PN's if they're the same then you have your answer...

heh i've only done that 1 time (the getting stuck without a recovery) b/c my comealong was not long enough...it was snowing and I was still partially buzzed from the night B4...luckly I called my buddy with his jeep and he came and pulled me out I was making good until I hit a spot where folks were stuck b4 and all 4 wheels were off the ground...after a good half dozen or so snags he got me...some wanna be country momma's boy came up in a jacked up silverado and was like haha you got stuck...ran over my rope and I was within inches of kickin his ass but just took a low blow when I asked him to cross it and said he couldnt do it and i told him he could leave his woman with me and I'd show her out to get across the puddle with a better line of attack...he was not happy and she just smiled I miss the mud/rain...glad to be comin back east for the holidays and hanging out in the Gods land, the good ole south...looks like fun
