  1. I bought a Bulldog Security keyless system off of ebay.. it has worked great ever since.
  2. Probably a smart move The deals are out there, just got to wait for the right one
  3. If the upper hose refers to the one coming off of the top of the water pump (hidden some by the upper timing cover) then it can at times be a PITA to change... but doing it when the timing belt is done makes life easier. It's a $4-$10 part... I think I paid $6 and got a hose that when cut gave me two of them
  4. Yep reindex them yourself before commiting to a replacement. My truck has over 310,000 on it and still has the originals (afaik)
  5. People have been dropping them on IFS trucks for years and seldom is it an issue... if ever.
  6. Or if you need to save as much as possible just to get it on the road again, try wrecking yards (93-95 Pathfinders and 93-97 Hardbody 4x4's) Then at a later date get the upgraded steering
  7. If you have a friend with a truck that has trailer brakes already hooked up, borrow the truck or him and the truck and pick it up with that sly
  8. I don't think it need to be moved.... those sections are more for region specific chat All years of the WD21's had the optional roof rack... with the exception of mine and a couple other obvious ones you should have no problem matching your rack up to another using the photos on this board.. most of them with racks have stock racks
  9. Theres that method too... but cost wise the 3rd may be cheaper. Whats more valuable to you SF... time, or money?
  10. If you really want an LSD, head to the wrecking yard and try to get one from a Pathy for a decent price... get the whole 3rd, and just swap it in. Oh and if possible get one from a 5sp truck along with the ring and pinion, that way you do not have to swap the R&P from yours to keep the ratio the same
  11. Reminds me of the 90's Toyota ext cab 4x4 that was "slammed" here in town. At least "he" thought it was slammed. (you can't really slam them ) Have not seen that waste of a truck in years now
  12. Relax, I never said it was hard and I quoted your "drops right in" statement... I said "bolt in". I was just trying to find out if you had found a way to do so or to help clarify it to those who don't know... if you had not found a direct fit method
  13. Do you know something that we do not? A couple of us here have done the Quest Alt swap... we have used a couple different approches, but afaik it has not been a simple "drop in" conversion for anyone. Not hard, but not an unbolt the old, simply bolt the new in.
  14. Currently the fourth post in the How To section at the top of this section. *You will find some info in that topic along with a link to even more of what you are looking for
  15. Yes and no... it does just bolt on, but there are brackets inside the bdy panels that it bolts too. The lower ones are in every truck but the upper ones came only on the trucks that were equipped with the carrier from the factory. There is a kit offered by 4x4parts.com that allows you to add the upper bracket, then you can bolt the carrier on. Do not try to simply bolt it to the body (without installing the mounting bracket first) as the carrier weights to much for the sheet metal of the body to support it, even without the tire on it. EDIT: Another option is to throw the spare up on the roof.
  16. I made a few up and distributed them, but afaik it did not lead to new members *Unless someone is here I gave one to that I do know know about. I do mean to make some more, but only seem to remember when I do not have the time.
  17. Have you checked local wrecking yards?
  18. You probably parked on it's mate
  19. In my 88 and based on Mr. P's reply it would seem in his 94 as well, the gauge dropped to empty (all the way to the left in my case) when they key is off. When I move the key to the "Run" position (with or without starting the engine) it moves and displays the actual fuel level.
  20. Vancouver WA area Yeah TTF... fill in your info man
  21. Thats good that you figured it out... talk is 1-4in in the Seattle area (have not heard what those of use south can expect yet) And for the record.. yes it (the gauge) should come alive when you turn the key
  22. Forced repairs/upgrades suck, but in the end it usually turns out for the best. Congrats on their new stuff Steve
  23. Yeah around here Autozone also loans tools for free (you have to pay retail price but get it back when you bring the tool back). Schucks afaik charges a fee.
