  1. On the bright side Dowser.. gas is cheap in Texas right now, I know a girl down there who likes to text me current fuel prices when she fills up.. you know, just to irritate the hell out of me because I live in the "tax the living sheit out of gasoline" state Text I got today said it's down to $1.89USD per gallon
  2. Well, this was my first post on these forums... First off, hello everyone. I'm new here, but some of you probably know who I am from other boards. Now about the subject... A bit late on this, but oh well I just replaced mine and I can say that the O2 sensor in that auction is NOT the right one for a V6 Path. The one they list in that auction (by the part number they provided) matches Bosch's "universal" listing for a Pathfinder with the Z24I engine. My truck is an '88 Path with the V6 and it uses the same O2 as yours does.. or at least, "should" use the same one. I got mine from bosch4less and the Bosch part number is 15207. For whatever reason Bosch's website does not list a O2 sensor for our vehicals, but this is indeed the correct one. Comes prewired with connectors. Looked exactly like the old one I pulled out and gave me over 1mpg increase. Anyway, hope I was not to late and that this info helps you out.
  3. Because if your buying used and you need to get it back on the road you gotta go with what you can get and VG30's are normally easier to find And a used VG30 for 2g's.. you would have to be nuts to pay that! Anyway, yes if you got "lucky" there is no damage... that is if the belt broke. But even if there is it may only be valve damage which would also be lucky, just not as
  4. Looks good tick... congrats!
  5. That depends heavily on the laws of the state, county and/or city... and the cop who see's it
  6. I ripped them off my Pathy a couple years ago (well one, then took the other off) and so far I have not had any problems. But having lifted it higher and now with taller tires that grab and kick more stuff up combined with wheels that push them out further, I may very well be noticed this winter. if that happens, again to me it's just not worth wasting money or time on... I'll just mount some new mudflaps and go along my way (while keeping my money in my pocket)
  7. lol it's really not a big deal... I put them on my yota years ago after a county cop stopped and warned a friend of mine that some of the other cops ticket first, and don't ask questions later. Since then I have had zero problems with it, while some others have been ticketed and subsequently followed by local county cops. To me, it's such a minor thing, it's just not worth fighting about. You gotta pick our own battles though, and if this one is worth it, then happy check writing
  8. I don't remember the "exact" law on when they are required and when they are not, but rest assured if you lift your truck and find a cop with a grudge against 4x4's (or maybe just in a bad mood) then he may stop and ticket you. Stock SUV's even when they have a lot of tire exposed facing the rear seem to be ok. But once lifted then they look at them like a pickup. the law there, unless it has changed in the past 10yrs required flaps spanning with full width of the tire and extending down to the middle of the axle. You can stop and officer and ask him... I do it every now and then. If your asking "how do I make my truck legal" then they are very unlikely to look down on or ticket you
  9. Mine never had any... but I do plan on putting some on *\/See pic in sig \/* Unless they are an actual part of the functional fender, then they can be removed (basically, if they were "optional" hardware on a stock truck). but they law does limit how far out your tires can stick. And mud flaps are also required, but that is hazy ground on an SUV
  10. Well on the other side of that (as for WD21's) only 1 out of over 10 autos I have found in wrecking yards had 4.6 gears and all the 5spd's I scanned over had 4.3's too... Yes I know this for sure because that is exactly what I was looking for.... the gears
  11. Good thing you checked it.. I also bumped that thread to the top for others to see
  12. As Tex said, no not all SE's came with LSD's (Mine does not have one) Few of the options are model specific, my SE does not and never did have many of the options people think came on all SE's
  13. Yes, however I personally recommend Rough Country or Superlift UCA's (RC and SL arms are the same thing) because they more accurately correct the upper ball joint angles And remember that the arms themselves to not actually lift the front end. You have to crank the torsion bars up to gain lift. The Arms, in the case of RC and SL (and Calmini) correct the suspension geometry, so that proper alignment is easier to achieve.
  14. Stock replacements, any parts store should be able to ID them for you. No need to change them out for longer ones because you never actually change the amount of travel the front suspension has, you are simply changing the ride height
  15. ^ Yes they are linked together by the switch in the rear door. The front doors only operate the front light, while the rear door does both. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...ar++Dome++light
  16. If both the front and back dome lights come on then the problem is in the rear hatch switch, it's a fairly common and known problem in older trucks Need to adjust it a little, if that does not work then some people have used small washers to reposition it enough so that the switch is tripped when the door is closed. Search around the forums for it, there is a thread here somewhere that explains and/or shows what needs to be done
  17. Yes they do, AC arms are the only ones that do not... Even JCR (no longer available) corrected the angles. But calmini are known to introduce their own problems.. search around here, you will find a lot on all the available arms
  18. Right, which is why my thinking was more along the lines of a single one to cover the entire surface above the UCA. Makes things more complicated for sure, and aside from that I am not sold on having so many pieces involved to get the job done anyway. properly designed UCA's are by far the best fix.. next to the planned SAS of course
  19. Or possibly making a second shim to allow them to bold flat there... David, you do know that if this proves to work out in the long run.. you probably opened yourself up to requests *As reflected in the post above* But, Good Job, I hope this does prove to be a permanent fix
  20. After having a 4WD I just cannot bring myself to buy a 2WD truck or truck based SUV. Even if I did not think I would ever use 4WD in a given truck, I thoroughly love the piece of mind just knowing that it's there should i ever need it My brother used to see no need for 4WD in any truck, and used to buy only 2WD's. Finally after getting stuck and having to be pulled out a few times in the snow (twice by me) he bought is first 4WD (a 1995 Tacoma). He later traded that in, reluctantly on a 2WD Envoy, then a longer version Trailblazer because his wife was sure they needed more space. He hated driving them in any questionable conditions, afraid that he would have to call for help again They later traded the TB in on a 4WD Titan... he is dead set against ever owning a 2WD truck again!
  21. There is no real advantage that I can think of, to replacing it with a newer (up to '95) unit. There are minor differences (only one that I can think of right now) but none that will be an advantage either way. You can install that one as it is, but DO NOT use 4WD until you either re-gear it or the front so that they match or you will destroy your transfer case.
  22. O2 Sensor connectors on the RH fenderwell by the firewall. Follow the wires from the O2 under the truck (in main exhaust pipe just behind the crossever pipe) if you are not completely sure
  23. Incorrect, there was very little seperation between options and trim levels. Many XE's had the same or even more of the supposed "SE" options than a lot of true SE's did... my SE for example, does not have a lot of the options people claim SE's got, including Rear disks.
  24. I had to swap my trans not to long ago too. Started making noise in all but 4th gear (5sp). It's not that difficult, I managed it by myself. Perhaps you can find a good wrecking yard replacement? I lucked out and found a whole truck for $100 To bad about losing the champ, but hey.. atleast you made it there, right? I mean that is better than all but one other team did!
