  1. Cause I like exploring and testing the Pathy's limits. So far she hasn't let me down.
  2. I recently installed thorleys on my 92, yes it's an auto. I didn't have any clearance issues like you are having. Mine was all directly bolt up, no problem in trying to fit everything. Had a shop extend the egr valve tubing so it can fit nice and neat with out any bending. Here's the link: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=8933&st=0

    Beer

Ha ha ha, yup Beer in wal-mart, got that down here in Yuma too. I mostly like drinking Corona, dos xx, Tecate, bud light, and miller light. Can't drink beer outta a can or cup, can't stand it. Needs to be outta bottle, nice and frosty
  4. Haven't changed the fluid since i bought the pathy a year ago. Reverse works, Still have to check lines, as far as tranny cooler, i had to replace the radiator cause it crapped out on me in March, replaced it with new rad from autozone, don't know how close to stock that is, as far as clogging. Yeah, I found it. really great info. When I saw the TPS diagram, I remembered that on wednesday the a/c guy had to remove the intake hose and probably removed the TPS switch. I disconnected it and connected it, turned the engine on and no more flashes, just turns on then off. I think that this may have solved the problem, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't rule out the possibility of other sensors, or tranny being f'ed up. I'm going to drive it around later on today to see how it shifts. If I remember reading a post, I think i need a total of 14 quarts of t-fluid to compeltely change the fluid in the torque conveter too right? I was planning on buying B&M tranny fluid and a quart of Lucas t-fluid for slipping. Any recommendations as far as what fluid I want to use? So I should plan on spending a total of about $120.00 inlcuding a/t filter for a DIY using the two bucket method? Thanks for the info.
  5. This is the second time that the pathy is shifting hard when it gets to about 50 or 60. When I come to a stop it downshifts at around 1000-1500 hard too. It feels like it wants to shift in gear but downshifts. it does this before I come to a complete stop. When I was getting back home I was trying to find out exactly where the problem occurs. I let go of the accelerator and once it starts falling in to that 1000-1500 it starts doing it. One other thing i noticed was when I start the pathy the power button for the tranny starts flashing about 10 to 15 times then turns off. I don't have the power set to on, it's on auto. When I drive around, the tranny feels like the power button is on when it shifts, but it doesn't feel as powerful...if that makes any sense. By the way I do have an auto tranny...I know, I know. Any help will be greatly appreciated, cause I don't have any cash right now to invest in a new tranny. I could barely pay for my a/c to get fixed on wednesday. :o
  6. Well i finally got it fixed on wednesday. i took it to a a/c specialist and said it was a valve that was f'ed up. he told me that the reason this happened is because the e-fan i got in the pathy right now is not pulling enough cfm's to cool the a/c condensor, and it caused a valve to rupture and leak all the freon. He told me the fan is enough to cool the motor, but recommended me to install another one that will blow air to the condensor. So basically set up the fan between the grill and the condensor. So $50 later and about 3.5 hours later, the pathy was blowing cool fresh air again. Good thing i still have the old fan so I'm going to install it and hook it up to the compressor.
  7. sorry for sounding completly moronic, I'm still new to the whole lsd and diffs. The purpose of trying to swap a r180 to a r200, or get a lsd in the front is to get more traction What i do know is that a lsd is better than an open diff, cause both tire spin at the same time, as opposed to one tire, at least for the rear wheels. so when you engage in 4x4 does that mean that there is only 3 wheels that are pulling the truck?, of course supposing that you have a lsd in the rear diff.
  8. My a/c went to crap about a week ago. I turned the pathy on with the a/c for about 5 min, then got the familiy into the pathy to go shopping and then I saw some mist fly from the driver side of he hood and thought the radiator went to hell. Turned around quickly to inspect and as soon as the I popped the hood open, i smelt the freon. now I don't know if it's a hose or the compressor is screwed up. What could have caused this. Isit possible for the a/c condensor to clog?, if this is even possible? I'm going to have it checked by a guy I know. I really hope it's not the compressor cause it costs $300.00 brand new from checkers. Or i can go the bone yards and hope to find one that works. i really need the a/c cause it really sucks to drive around here with no a/c, it friggin gets to 115 easily here in AZ, Vengeful can vouch for me! I hate taking my family out in this heat too.
  9. Yeah i'm not really worried about that. I thought that they looked pretty cool and use them as step rails would be functional too. Hey Sammy, maybe you can fab them for me :contract:
  10. I'm not too worried about clearence, cause i don't go thru bogs or rocks.... cause all I have around here is sand! plus with the trailmaster lift, it should not be a problem.
  11. yeah, what a coincidence. I'm not in Phoenix, I'm in Yuma, 3hrs south west of Phoenix. Between California and Mexico borders.
  12. For now I have a kill switch, factory alarm doesn't work, will replace as soon as i have some money. What I want is keyless entry and remote start.
  13. You can always apply with the power companies also, they always need an it person. or you can try applying at the palo verde nuclear power plant, out side of phoenix. The power companies are APS and SRP. i work with APS, I can get you a phone# for human resources on thursday, since i'm off today and tomorrow.
  14. I was planning on modding these for the pathy. I drew them in paint, but this is how it's gonna look, more or less. i was planing on buying the type of steel tubing used on sand rails, or maybe even roll cages, or use a smaller diameter tubing. all this will go in as soon as I install the trailmaster susp lift. This isn't my pathy, I got this online since I didn't have a pic of the front for mine.
  15. Yup, and that's where I come in. I installed the thorleys on my pathy and it was all a direct bolt up, no problem what so ever. the egr tubing to the header was a little hard to bend, so i had a shop cut and put in a longer piece of tubing to fit in with out bending. The results: Well I was extremely happy with the out come. I got better throtle response, I guess you can say I got more ft/lbs and hp, since it is noticeable, and I can even hear the exhaust gases pass thru the headers. It's awesome. i would really recommend this mod for any pathfinder owner. As far as the recommendation from thorley about not installing on lifted vehicles, I saw no problem or anything to obstruct the install and may pathy is t-bar cranked and jgc on the rear.
  16. Sorry to hear about your rig man. That really sucks, and I fear things like this happen to my truck everytime it's on the road. You really never know what can happen. I hope you end up buying another pathy, if not then good luck in your search for a new rig.
  17. According to some of the info I gathered, the earlier Maxi's came with 222 stock. unless the info I found is full of crap. If earlier Maxi's came with that type of h/p, then screw it, might as well stay with a pathy engine.
  18. :o I get about 220 mpg! Man this sucks. I think i should replace the cap and rotor, maybe o2 sensor, wire set, hmm what else. Things that have been done: Clean air filter 3 month old plugs headers, more recently cleaned maf sensor cleaned t/b with clearner about a month ago With the type of mileage you guys are getting I should be at least half of tank or may be less. I drive to and from work 4 days out of the week, that's 24 miles round trip. My guage is at 1/4 every friday when I fill up. I drive about 65-70 to get to work. I'm going to have to experiment with going 55 for a week, to see what type of mileage I should be getting.
  19. I couldn't get it, and by the time I was to said nut, it was freaking 11:00 pm. I didn't finish until close to 2 am. That was the only nut that gave me problems. everything else came off pretty easily.
  20. Cool, so it is possible. I really wanted to use something 90's up, but need more info. I guess I'll talk to my mechanic friend and see what suggestions he has. The engine isn't bad, or has been giving me any problems. I have a minor vacuum leak some where behind the block, or a round that area. At first i thought it was due to the exhaust manifold, but once I swapped to headers, I still heard it. I don't think really affects the performance that much, except for some slight accelaration, and milage.
  21. yeah, i sometimes wish the pathy came with a roll down rear window like the 4runners do, tried thinking of a way to do a mod, but got lazy.
  22. Thanks, glad to be part of the club. I really like the mod, now I have to re-tighten some bolts, especially at the collecter flanges.
  23. Here's the linky: http://nissan4wheelers.com/groupee/forums/...131#36410576131
  24. Sorry to leave all you guys hanging about the install. I've been really busy at home and work. Well here are some pics that i took during the install. All old manifold and y pipes removed from engine. Let me tell you, it was a B**** to remove it! This nut gave me hell to remove. It was on a nut that it was on the collector from the y pipe to the muffler. It was siezed, tried spraying wd-40 the hell out of it and it didn't work. My brother helped me out in removing it with tools. Sent it to a local shop to extend the egr valve tube to the header. Over all I am very pleased with the out come of of the headers. After 14 hours of labor , and feeling sore all over my body. It was well worth it. The throttle response is waaay better, acceleration is quicker, and the tone is deep and aggressive. I would really recommend this upgrade to any pathy owner.
