  1. I don't have pics of mine (no digi cam ) but mine is a piece of metal rail that clamps onto the OEM rack. The PO installed it so I'm not sure where he got the metal rail It is kinda of a U-Shape when your looking at it, with the open side of the U facing the top of the rack The only issue I've had with the lights being so far back is you can't have your moon roof open with them on
  2. Welcome back Mr Jim! Glad to see your more than just a board legend AND your situation has improved
  3. I'm going to be getting rid of the pathy to start. Just have some little things to do on it and then I'll be putting it up for sale I'm going to keep the car untill its paid off. I have a KILLER interest rate on it, and with my financial history I'm not likely to see that again for a while. So synopsis, sell the pathy, pocket $, pay off the car, sell the car, then buy new(er) pathy I'd just do all of that now, but I still owe about 5K on the car, and I'm hoping to buy the next truck outright, and not deal with any loans.
  4. I would think that a higher cfm e-fan would do the trick really.
  5. He he, good reads. I've seen threads on vwvortex, where other GTI owners have modified the rear spray nozzle to spray straight back, shoots a good 8 feet or so
  6. Check to make sure that the file isn't to large, the forum won't allow avatars over a certain number of KB.
  7. So your telling me this will fit? /sarcasm
  8. Well I am going to have to wait a few months now to get the $$ to swap out trucks. But when I do, I'm not looking for luxury if its going to cost me a frame While it sounds nice, that was one visual I did NOT need
  9. In addition to the 3.3 ECU you would also need to gut most of the wiring harness from the 3.3 donor vehicle and splice it in to your 3.0 harness AFAIK.
  10. On the same thought, why couldn't we mate up a cummins I6 diesel, it should fit right? /Sarcasm
  11. Hi all, this might seem like a wussy question on a offroad forum, but how rare are heated seats in the WD21's? The reason I ask is I might be in the market for a four door WD21 after I can offload my VW. And after having heated seats in the VW I'm not sure I want to go without them lol.
  12. My dad got one for his Tahoe a few years ago, cost around $100 give or take $20.
  13. I got all excited when I saw this, thought 87mudfinder was back. Sent him $60 for a body lift over a year ago, never recieved it and he stopped replying to my e-mails
  14. How about a NISMO Kit to swap the 4.0 into our current trucks?
  15. I'm no expert but I bet the new deck puts out a lot more power, and this little box thing you have is effectively cutting your output to near stock levels. Thats why the noise is going away. So yeah, best bet is to run all new speaker wiring whenever you can, I bet the system will sound 100% better.
  16. E-Codes are pretty popular in the VW circles -- people there only seem to run into problems when trying to pass an inspection (where applicable).
  17. If you pay off the VW you have yourself a deal
  18. Its pretty common for MAF's to get fouled by excess filter oil. I don't see why your truck would be running better with less air though
  19. All good suggestions guys -- thanks. I'm going to talk to my dad about selling the VW -- since he is the co-signer. If anything I'll try and sell the VW, buy a early 90's wd21, swap the parts from my 87 over to the new one (tires/light bar etc) and then sell the 87. I want to get a manual pathy anyway. Then if I end up needing something more economical down the line I'll get a MKII Golf TDI or something similar. 40+ mpg doesn't sound to bad for getting around town. On the other hand, I wish to hell the 2.7TD was available in the states.
  20. Mines going to have a belated holiday -- and its going to be getting new tags and a full tank of gas
  21. Heres my two -- The one on the left is Pearl -- shes 4 y/o, and the one on the right is Bubba @ maybe 4 months. Hes almost a year now.
  22. Those would look great with a CB antenna on them
  23. If its going between your battery and the truck I wouldn't go with anything smaller than 4ga, if not larger.
  24. Nice Martin! I can imagine all that helping though. 15lbs per wheel is a lot less to get rolling in stop-n-go traffic!
