surges/misfires on acceleration at normal running temp
beavis0076 replied to 94mudrat's topic in The Garage
keep the updates commin.. i have a simaler issue on my 91 and am waiting for u to do all the work... -
wood pecker noise might be a lifter tap.. common on startup... not really a big deal.. mine did it forever and I switched to 10w 30 and it helped. poor power... poss fuel filter clog? bad tank of gas? cap and rotor? fuel injectors need cleaning? those are the first things I would look into......
-
Love it man... lmao! cant wait to get a flat now... maybe I shouldnt have said that......
-
it could score the cylinder wall, or damage the piston.
-
Yea, nice! and my pas door is getting bad too.. and the drivers is fine... weird... you would think the drivers door would go first due to the fact it gets the most use! ......???
-
Nice! a little beat up but pretty dam nice! I would kill for one... now... who's it gonna be???......
-
I have a 31 on my stock chrome spare... and it fits the rim well and fits the Pathfinder spare rack as well. ......
-
a lift. 6 inches... most do 3 body and 3 suspension.
-
But they weren't back then....
-
Aint it great when you can "fix" a car with a hammer!!!
-
LMFAO so true! hahahahahah

hmm... I will submit and call u the winner...... my cat was last weighed many years ago.. and was 18 1/2 lbs... all say he has grown a s%@ load since then....plus he is a long hair so he looks even bigger than he is. Everybody that sees him says he is the biggest "dam" cat they have ever seen... and asks if he is a "coon cat" .........he is a Jersey stray... grew up holdin his own i guess......but yours looks a tad bigger....
-
ooo how much does he weigh?? I have a contender to that!!!!! but.. with his attitude... might be hard to hold him for a pic.. I'd rather hold a Wolverine!
-
By the way... I don't believe this is ever off topic... Thanks for Serving!!!! Props and my respect to you man.
-
well, it sounds to me that you might as well have one then!!! lol!!@!
-
sorry to hear that. Hope you have better luck in the future!
-
how about the back of the switch where the contacts go.. are any of them close or touching? I am of the frame of mind that if a fuse blows.. you have a prob... but since this is so new... it could just be a bad fuse......?
-
look at the red wire from the batt .. through the firewall. the to the switch.. any chance it touched metal? look hard where u went through the firewall...
-
how did you run your power wire?
-
I wonder if you could have gotten bad gas... I can't see a fuel filter just clogging instantly so bad it wont even run at all.
-
...(I am have been focused on the No juice to plugs issue) Yes, sorry.. I just thought if you were wrong about the spark.... u might have something else.... but if you are sure u have no spark... after licking them.. lol.. def change the comp.
-
u sure you have No spark??? sometimes its hard to see..... sorry if you are sure.... but thought I would check... have a friend hold his toung to it while you crank it...... no wait... dont do that. LOL..... well, at times like this ... you gotta find the humor... or your screwed.... edit... not a bad idea to swap ECU's
-
when was the last time you changed your plugs/ wires? have you been using oil? how has the truck been running lately? did it have a good amount of power? lacking power? have you done a compression test? sorry for so many questions... but trying to narrow things down.... P.S. I am drunk too.. arent you lucky.. 2 drunk people telling you whats wrong with your car .....lmao! Cheers Slick!
-
No, he has no spark... but has voltage at the cap.. tried diff caps/ rotors... hmm.... I don't know how to test a dist..... any one else?
-
honestly.. others may balk at this.... but I use temp grounds all the time... (I guess that means they aren't temp...) the trick is to keep them clean.. if you get corrosion, you get more resistance and that means less light. a good ground is any solid peice of metal that lets the lights shine bright. when you switch the power on and rub the ground wire around... you will see what the best ground source is... just touch it to diffrent stuff, and screw it to the best thing. oh.... i am gonna get a bunch of crap for telling you to do it this way,,, but Ive been doing it for 15 years w out a prob.
