Help tracking down rough idle / whacky tachometer issue (video)
Jmax5000 replied to xylicon's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
I had this issue for awhile, turned out to be a faulty O2 sensor -
Well its been really cold here the last couple of days.. so i havent been able to take a look at it yet, but the fuses are ok.. (at a glance). the wierd thing is that the stop lights work (same bulb). But i will get in there with a volt meter hopefully today or tmrw and update. Thanks for the input everyone!

Hey guys it's been awile since ive been here, But i havent had too many issues with the truck in some time. But that has changed. Just the other day the taillights on my pathy decided they didnt want to come on any more. The brake lights still fire up, but no tail lights when the switch is on. Is this just a fuse issue, or do i have to start digging through the wiring to fix??
-
I have 3" wheel spacers on mine, and wheeled with them more than a few times. No problems as of yet.

Bigger problems, bigger hammer!!! i wonder what weight of sledgehammer would be required for a tranny replacement... LOL And it still seems to be running strong, so i wont be doing any starter changing until i really need to. Which will be soon probably, but if it aint broke (that bad), dont fix it (unless its just with a hammer )
-
Well the rain let up a little, and i got all ready to pull the damn thing out... when low and behold the hammer tapping got it goin. Three times in a row with no problem. I will definitely check all that you posted for me k9sar, but for now its off to the tire shop!!!!!! Thanks again for all the input guys, this site is awesome!!!

Yes... i just bought it to replace the other battery that i tried to charge, but wouldn't hold any voltage. So i guess that means yes, in a lot more words. Unfortunately it is an auto

Ok well like I said... it's raining like a muther fukker, so i will get to it tomorrow and let you guys know whats up. It seems like the starter is definitely the problem from what i read in the How to thread. This is such a pain in the ass, all i wanted to do is take my truck to the tire shop so they could swap on my new BFG MT's, and now i have to get all greasy just to drive it a couple blocks. Thanks for all the info guys, i really appreciate it, and like i said before i will update after at stops raining.
-
Ok well its pissing rain right now... so i will try giving it a "gentle" beating and see what happens. Never had to change a starter before, it can't be that difficult right?
-
really? @!*%. This happened once before, a few years back... but it just fixed itself after a few minutes. Goddammit i hate fixing things. Could it maybe be a fusible link somewhere along the line???
-
No... i thought so at first, so i threw a new battery in and it just clicks louder.
-
Hey all... its been a real long time since i had a question about my pathy that i havent been able to read about and find the correct answer. My problem is now when i turn the Key, the engine doesn't turn, it just makes a bunch of really fast clicks, sounds like they are coming from the fuse panel, but i could be mistaken. I pulled the codes and they read 55-no malfunction. Maybe the starter??? I don't know... this is all very new to a truck that has always started just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Very very low idle and stalling problem
Jmax5000 replied to dsmdan's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Definetly check your codes.... could be something as simple as a bad o2 sensor. Your describing similar symptoms that my truck was showing for a while. Turns out it was the o2 sensor. Check your codes firstly... it's easy and it will save you a ton of headaches. -
No i don't still have the stock uca's-- I have the Rancho ones.... and my tie-rods seem to be fine, how long a job is it to replace my ball joints? is there any special tools i might need? And how long should it take? thanks for the input... its appreciated

Recently i noticed that my frond end sits like this- /---\ I know I need a new center link, but there has to be more to it. Possibly ball joints? Thanks
