  1. Unless you live on the Outerbanks year round, or in the middle of the tundra, I would say they are an overpriced waste.
  2. Basically that is like a tilt light on a pinball machine, if it comes on, the tranny is already toasted.
  3. Yeah, you should probably try and swap out the little bypass hose while you are in there. As for the gasket, toss it in the trash and just use silicone (hell, the dealer doesn't even sell thermostat gaskets anymore for this reason).
  4. If you want to test one, just put it in a pot of water on the stove with a thermometer. There isn't really a high quality/ low quality issue with them, since they are all pretty much made buy one or two companies out there.
  5. Actually, if they allign it properly, they will hook up all 4 wheels. They won't adjust anything in the rear, but the computer will referance the position of the rears for getting the front into proper spec.
  6. Yeah, I would take a guess that about 98% of Pathfinders with a lift do not have a drop bracket on the panhard.
  7. It will work......for no more than a minute, then it will just burn off. I tried to JB weld my Y-pipe for a trail fix, and it was fine until I ran it, as soon as it started to heat up, gone.
  8. Fueler, the OE needles didn't glow either.... Mine is an XE with AT, so it only had the single trip odo and single gas guage.
  9. Remember with the change to a diesel, you need to completely redo all the feed lines, pump, tank, filter, etc. You could probably find a 4cyl from a 720 and make it work (carbed), but you would have to take the tranny and t-case for it to work. If you grabbed one out of a Hardbody (injected), you would only need engine and tranny since they use the same t-case, but also need the ECU since it is different than your V-6 one. If you can't even do a timing belt right, do you trust yourself on swapping to a completely different drivetrain?
  10. Those look beefy! Do I spy extra end mounts on there?
  11. You are getting me in the mood totry and redo my 88s guages now, thanks . I like the look you have going, I'd be after the same but green lit.
  12. Top of the line would be a sealed unit, but those are around $500 IIRC.
  13. It looked like it was built into the difuser lens around it on mine. (Had mine apart to put a color gel over the light.)
  14. $509.89 for exhaust and lift? If that is just exhaust then it is about half parts half labor. If you paid that for all you got a deal.
  15. It would take a good bit of body work to make the corner lights fit with our fenders. For the bumper you would have to make all new custom supports for it.
  16. Why the lifetime warranty is nice, but yeah, it's about 1 in 5 that seem to be bad from the get go.
  17. If you pull the knob ends off, you can pop the face off there and access the bulb....yes, just one.
  18. You have a seperate light for that from your normal brake light? IIRC ours in NA just have one brake light for everything (except ABS). Check your brake fluid level, you are probably low. You might have even sprung a leak out wheeling.
  19. Is XOC still as bad as a gay pride parade?
  20. I'm pretty sure, dunno, only ever knew one person that had them, and he bought it with them on it.
  21. Done right, with all the parts replaced that should be, probably $500-$800 total to have a shop do it. Parts alone you can probably get for under $150 if you know places to get deals, under $250 if you just go get all dealer parts. Whatever you do, be sure to get a new, not reconditioned water pump. Parts: Upper and lower radiator hoses Thermostat bypass hose the 3 V belts Cam seals (2) Crank seal tensioner water pump timing belt A few of the parts you need to remove the timing belt to replace or need to remove to get to the timing belt, so you might as well just replace them now, and not have to worry about pulling the front of the engine apart again to fix it in a year.
  22. Same here, on my 93, but it is body lifted. My 88 is just fine with no sways.
