You get brownie points from me, Kent, but Jake's work definitely tops the stuff I'm doing! Now, if I can convince him to move to AZ so we combine efforts...it's been a hard sell getting the wife on board for a WA move.

I might be making a limited run of adjustable or static arms if folks are interested. Just about done with this set for FerrariOwner123. 1.75" OD/0.180" wall Chromoly tube with 1.25x12 rod end adapters. Welded and turned. The post welding machine work isn't necessary but I prefer the aesthetic. Hes supplying his own rod ends but I can fabricate/supply those too, if needed.

I just looked and the cam bearings look 10 times better on this other engine.. I guess I’ll be cleaning these heads up. I think I might as well get the driver head as well while I’m at it because the one at my house looks pretty poor too. I wonder if this was caused by an over tightened timing belt... I did drop this other engine and it landed on the oil pan and passenger head. It left a dent but it’s only a small place outside of where the valve cover should seal. Grab the head from the other motor.

I would guess the texture on the gasket caused variations in how the metal pitted. Sucks about that cam bearing. If you have a parts engine, you might as well see if it's got a better head. I don't know how tolerant these motors are of that sort of thing but it would suck to get it back together and have to take it apart again.

That looks like an ATX14A. If you're trying to fit it to a truck that didn't come with it, you may be in for a hell of a fight. I recommend tracking down the service manual for the truck the case came from, both to see what the various things do and to see what you're in for. I had a look at the TF section of the '03 R50 service manual (mine doesn't cover the diesel models, though) and holy crap is that thing complicated! It's designed to offer an automatic mode (clutch AWD, like some Subarus). The front driveshaft gets power through a wet clutch assembly like an auto trans, so it's got a pressurized oil system, complete with an electric backup pump to keep pressure up when you're stopped or going backwards. Much of the section is devoted to troubleshooting the various trouble codes it can throw. Its control module ties into the engine computer, trans computer, and ABS. If a simple push-and-pray is what you're after, you might have better luck stripping the linkage off a TX10A (manual transfer) and setting it up with some kind of homemade servo system.

it makes my 01 sluggish on low rpm. vg34e has more torque and power, it does feel more like a truck compare to the vq35. my 96 is more equipped with bumper, winch, rock sliders, tow hitch and roof basket with a full sized spare and 33's around. i also have my tool box that weighs 60lbs and other @!*% in the truck. it doesnt even feel like it has all these things i mentioned. while my 01 only has tow hitch, roof basket and 16 steelies with 30 inches tires. it feels sluggish. truck feels more solid on steep climb as well. i love this new power plant. the choice i made is well worth in my book.

I understand and agree with what your saying as people on this forum are normally pretty mellow and not looking to cause problems, but I would also guess that you probably don't go around posting your address all over the web either. You are of course free to do so, we just don't require or directly recommend it here. As for the off chance someone grabs the negative attention of a nut job, why make it any easier for them? Besides, I think that it's also fair to say that there are a number of them out there without the ability or patience to track someone down to an exact location. There are other, less paranoid, reasons as well. I personally was tracked down once via the original NPORA website. It was years ago, before I was part of the staff, before the current website and before the Member Map existed, but nonetheless it happened. Almost 10 years ago when we rolled out the new NPORA website the info that allowed that to happen was changed, for good or bad. In that case I was contacted via email by family I had not heard from in years and in that instance it was welcomed. However, today I have other family which I would prefer that they not just show up on my doorstep unannounced, if I put a pin on my house that could just happen. But again, placing it at your doorstep, city center or not at all is the choice of each NPORA Member.

So... I am not dead and fortunately neither is the pathfinder. Back in January my no run issue ended up being caused by the fuel return and feed lines being ass backwards in the tank hookup, and with a mostly empty tank it would run on fumes and then cut out. But in the process of trouble shooting I managed to screw up a few other things like my timing and my idle sensor so all in all it actually took quite a while to figure out and make right. But currently the engine runs like a champ. However, I am still having rear end noise issues at speed. Part of the problem ended up being my drive shaft length. At ride height the shaft was fully pinched between the diff and the transfer case, resulting in transmission noise as well as differential noise. I caught that in time to avoid damage fortunately. And now after another drive tonight I have a feeling that the noise I am hearing is coming from my rear brake drums rubbing on the sheet metal guard that wraps around the backside. If this is the case I should have it sorted out soon. On my test drive tonight I also managed to displace a coil spring while flex testing through some V-ditches and getting the wheels flexed out in the air, but that should be a minor fix. Long term I think I want to look at coil overs, or land Rover springs but we'll see about that. No pictures due to my phone camera being broken unfortunately. Part of the reason this has all taken so long is that I've been super busy with work, and I've taken on several more important projects since January that have all just made the time fly by. Speaking of, say hello to Swamp Thing... Not gonna spam the crap out of it on a Nissan forum but it'll probably pop up here or there when I finally get out and start having fun in the Pathfinder ?
