I think the people with short lists aren't trying hard enough

Since May 2005:

2 starters

3 alternators

2 sets of tires

2 rear axle shafts and associated bearings and bits

1 cv shaft

Centerlink

Tie rod ends

fan clutch

A/C system

Front Bumper

crushed fender

barb wire 'rash'

front signal lights

drivers parking light

busted snorkel

Auto Hubs

A ton of drivers side body damage

Usual dents and 'pinstriping'

There's still wood in the paint on the passenger side in an interesting pinstripe

2 sets of shocks

1 stock LSD

Removed all 4 mudflaps (still unreplaced)

Bent spare tire rack

Busted stud on spare tire rack

I will do two short lists of the most things I have damaged in one shot.

1st event was a fairly quick stop after hitting a stump.

Hit the stump (avoiding one thing to hit another) smack bang on the pitman arm at about 30~40 kph.

Broken....

Steering box. ($400 second hand)

Bent....

Tie rod. (Both)

Idler arm

Chassis.

Other damage....

Drag link.

NOTE: The the only reason I included this event was because of the cost to replace the steering box. If the steering box was not broken it would have been a normal outing.

2nd event was a bad landing over a jump.

Broken....

Driving lights (Both)

R/H head light

Coner light. (Both)

Steering column. (collasped)

Spot welds.

Bent....

R and L front guards.

R/H tie rod.

Radiator support panel.

Other damage from this one event....

Drag link.

Broken battery clamp. (Battery moves into the power steering pully.)

Power steering pully rips apart battery spewing acid everywhere.

Acid chewed through my belt tensioner. (was resin now is steel).

Acid chewed through my drive belt.

Acid ate away my flexy conduit. (wires ran through it)

Acid ate away my paint on the inner guard, steering box, engine mount, power steering pully, rocker covers, hood, after market UCA and chassis.

I think it was easier just to have two event lists otherwise we'd be here all day.

Wuh oh....

Just got home from a hard, long weekend up at Paragon, and I've got a "few" items to add to my list.

Drivers Headlight

Windshield

Drivers side front fender (tree)

Rear bumper (rocks, so I was told)

Driving light

Fog light (MIA)

Missing a couple Thule trim pieces.

Oh, and the freakin sickest scratch ever!

Oh, and my BlackPanther skids broke a rock....

Pezzy,

How did you bend the entire subframe?

I wish I knew.

Wheeling - but when - I have no idea. I can only assume in one of those moments of GIVER... I noticed after that weekend my steering wheel was pointing right, but my truck was pulling left. Badness.

Alright lets get my list together from offroading upnorth in a nice big snowstorm... lol

-Skid plate fell off (lost it somehwere, not sure where... by the time i returned on the trail it was recovered in snow)

-Mudflaps got ripped off... (heavy wet snow + rusted fender mountings)

-Front fender bent...

-Back bumper fell off lmao... friend really sucks at spotting....

-Power steering hoses

-Passenger side rocker panel was ripped apart almost (rock under the snow and one rusty rocker panel=lots of pain to my truck)

-lost a floormat some how...haha

-Broke the trimming on both headlights

-1 tie rod

-Exhaust gaskets

This trip was hectic... first offroading trip Ive ever had and it cost me a fortune lol

Im not returning offroading untill I get my body shop man to overhaul my truck in spring... to much rust for offroading...as you can see.

Thanks

Jason

Well...just found more.

Turns out that BOTH front mount bolts for my passenger side Slider broke off, and the mount on the slider is slightly bent.

I'm gonna drop the sliders sometime this week and drill out the old bolts, then use grade 10 replacements. Apparently grade 8 arent strong enough.

First trip to Paragon and I can add to the list.

- bent driver side step rail brackets

- dented driver side rocker (in front of step rail, and in front of rear tire)

- possibly new scratches, but unable to determine which are new

time for some sliders!

And a whole lot of Arizona Pinstripes. :D

I hear ya. I bet they're alot like the NM pinstripes I got at Kilbourne Hole. White-thorn mesquite bushes are unforgiving.
