Fix it tickets

1. no mudflaps

2. no left hand mirror

3. Unsafe vehicle needs steering shock

#3 is BS, it's not an OE item, even when that axel was on the original vehicle.

For the mudflaps, just go to the local truck stop and get some of the huge trucker ones, then make removeable mounts for them for when you hit the trails.

Sounds liek you got a cop that didn't like you. One thing I like about PA, mudflaps not needed on suv's they are titled as station wagons and don't require them.

1 i can see but the rest are not in my state's laws.. hmmm. how could he tell about #3? did he crawl under your truck?

Not sure about California, but here in WA State (as an example), mudflaps are required on trucks and SUV's (unless the body provides coverage.) they have to extend down to the middle of the axle or lower and cover the entire width of the tire.... Unless the laws have changed, but this is the way it was quite a few years ago.

Two mirrors minimum are required and can be either left hand and right hand side view mirrors or a left hand side view mirror along with an internal rear view mirror.

The third one is heavily opinion based and could be argued in court.

I'm pretty sure in California you only need two mirrors. So one internal and one external is fine.

And you don't need mud flaps in California (at least on SUV's), but the tires cannot stick out more than a couple of inches from the body.

Yes, but if you have just one external it has to be on the driver's side of that vehicle.

Do we really need the LEO bashing on here?

From my experiences, I have dealt with good and bad cops before, it's like any other statistical group. Then there are the factors of what mood he's in, if he got laid this week, etc...

The other side of it is that Nissy looks like a punk and his vehicles tend to look like a junk yard abortion.

That said, my belief is that there is NO reason why LEOs should be protected from expressed opinions. There are good ones and there are bad ones, just like any statistical group. This is fact, not opinion and I've dealt with both, not to mention my cop neighbor agrees with this...

As has happened here before, if a mechanic screws you over ($ amount or quality of work) there is NO hesitation to bash, slam, tirade and even list the name and location of the incident. Why the difference with a LEO? Crap in my book, everyone is accountable (or should be).

Ok, on with the subject...

I'd have to see the vehicle to know if mud flaps are 'required'. I suspect so...

No left hand mirror?

26709. (a) Every motor vehicle registered in a foreign jurisdiction

and every motorcycle subject to registration in this state shall be

equipped with a mirror so located as to reflect to the driver a view

of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of

such vehicle.

Every motor vehicle subject to registration in this state, except

a motorcycle, shall be equipped with not less than two such mirrors,

including one affixed to the left-hand side.

(B) The following described types of motor vehicles, of a type

subject to registration, shall be equipped with mirrors on both the

left- and right-hand sides of the vehicle so located as to reflect to

the driver a view of the highway through each mirror for a distance

of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle:

(1) A motor vehicle so constructed or loaded as to obstruct the

driver's view to the rear.

(2) A motor vehicle towing a vehicle and the towed vehicle or load

thereon obstructs the driver's view to the rear.

(3) A bus or trolley coach.

© The provisions of subdivision (B) shall not apply to a

passenger vehicle when the load obstructing the driver's view

consists of passengers.

Ok, so you are screwed on that one...

I looked for the unsafe vehicle bit, but got bored. Spend time here...

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html

HAHAHAHA, this is a good one!!

23120. No person shall operate a motor vehicle while wearing

glasses having a temple width of one-half inch or more if any part of

such temple extends below the horizontal center of the lens so as to

interfere with lateral vision.

So I guess all the trendy over sized ass ugly tinted gold fish bowl sunglasses being worn today are illegal to drive with.

GOOD!!!

NC doesnt care about any 3...

And thank God! We have enough hoops/stupid laws that I have to jump through just to get my inspection sticker each year.

his vehicles tend to look like a junk yard abortion.

Holy sh!t, that might be one of the funniest things I've heard in a while B.

As far as LEO bashing goes, eh... I don't like too many of them & they don't like me but they keep to themselves, for the most part, & I keep to myself. I know if I have a probalem with a nieghbor or someone trying to break into or vanadalize my ride I tend to not ask for help from them & preffer to "deal with it" on my own...

But still, a junkyard abortion, brilliant!...

hey man, if you hit a pot hole and it started to chimmy, then i'd be checking your king pin bushings.

a stearing stabilizer is nothign but a dampner.

I don't run one on mine, don't need to.

In the situation you discribed, it will not fix your problems.

rebuild the king pins on your D60.
