My tax rebate check is going right back to the government.

 

I hired an accountant to do my 2006 taxes and just 2 weeks ago I got a letter from the IRS showing that the accountant made a mathematical mistake (his addition was off by over $5k) and I now owe the IRS $560. This is coincidentally at the same time that we are getting stimulus checks for $600.

 

Looks like the only economy i'll be stimulating is the US government >

I was thinking too if the government estimated how much of the stimulas would be spent on items that are already taxed at least 50% like, booze, cigerettes, and casinos. Then the $600 rebate would only cost the government 300$

The whole stimulus thing is such a huge crock of sheit!! The insult to injury is that they count the # of children and increase for that. The children didn't pay taxes and were already claimed as dependents. I know several breeders who are giggling over the amount they will receive, while getting assistance, earned income, etc... Of all the stupid things that Busheit has managed, this truely takes it to the next level.

 

 

Oh, mines going into savings/investment. It'll help offset what they steal (and squander) from me each year. DIAFMF's!!!

Well I am a "breeder" I guess, and yes I claimed one of my kids (other was just born in the beginning of April) on my tax return. But the amount that I got back does not nearly cover everything you have to buy for kids. Therefore this stimulus check is partly going to diapers, wipes, milk, food. Now think of it from the governments standpoint. They want you to use the stimulus check to stimulate the American Economy (which is in serious turmoil right now) So by giving people with kids more then they think that it will be put to use by buying american made products for the kids. While good in theory, most people will not use the money for this purpose anyway. Alot of people will buy things that will stimulate the economy in China, Tawain etc.

I am partially with GG on this one. I will not have any children until I am in a really good position financially. I would not like to watch my children go without. Hence I am 35 years old and have no kids. (by without I mean food, clothing, ect , not the latest nintendo system)
