94extreme
LOL, want to try some fun? Try to get in that area. DO NOT USE THE ROADS, they are dotted with motion/vibration sensing equipment and shortly you will be joined by interesting characters who will escort you away. That is just what is known. It would be interesting to head in, hells bells on a dirt bike and see what you could see before you were cornered. You could always claim you were just out in the desert and having ignorant fun... B the sensors you speak of are also out in the desert. there used to be a place in cali that you could actually see the area from (some mountain) but iirc they pushed toe cordon so now you can't. don't even try it.. an escort would be your lucky day i believe. they don't f around there. 94extreme
oh i guess it's still visible. :cool2: maybe you used to be able to be even closer then. anyway, interesting stuff. now, where are the green man at?
GrimGreg
oh i guess it's still visible. :cool2: maybe you used to be able to be even closer then. anyway, interesting stuff. now, where are the green man at? Yeah, there was a ridge line that you could get a good view of the base from (not in CA), but the government expanded the border of the base to encompass that ridge. Now the only "legal" ground view is from a mountain about 20 miles to the north (IIRC). Where the base is situated, any view from the south or west would be blocked because it is at the bottom of a high ridge.

k9sar
cool pics. it's funny the government denies area 51 exists but yet you can use google earth and see it. hhhmmm the government does NOT deny that area 51 exists. It simply denies that we are storing alien lifeforms etc there.
k9sar
Area 51 doesn't exist, cuz it's not called area 51 it's usually referred to as A51. There are lots of other "area's" around the world as well. The use of the 'area' terminology is to allow people ot refer to sites without divulging their location. For instance, I have made several trips to A49 but can not say where or what it is. k9sar
The reason for te craters in the one pic are because that is part of the Nellis AFB, they have a bombing range out there. "Area 51" is just what the actual Groom Lake area's partition was called when they originally broke up the range into areas. One interesting thing, if you use NASA "World Wind", which has data from multiple satelites and USGS low level photos, the area of Groom lake is non-exsistant on the USGS photos. why show everyone all our 'cool stuff'? Many americans think they are the only ones who read the papers or surf the net. Get real folks... secrets are meant to be kept and americans are the american media is the worst at doing so. How effective would the F117 have been if it's technology was made public back in the 60's when we developed it?
k9sar
I found some wierd ones today. Just North of Area 51, there is a town called Rachel. This is the town where employees of Area 51 or Groom Lake, fly out of. They fly in a plane known as, you guess it, Rachel. I figured I would look for a runway or something, but I came across this: At 120 miles up: At 10 miles up: At 27000 feet: It seems to me that they are trying to block something out. It is not nearly as clear as Area 51. The shots that I posted before were from around 6000-10000 feet. Also, you can kind of see that there are buildings or something behind/under the green dots. Wierd. snicker... actually, the employees fly out of McCarran AFB in Las Vegas and it's called JANET, not RACHEL. JANET simply stands for "Joint Air Network for Employee Transportation". It flys both military and civilian personnel (which is why it's 'joint'). They also fly to the Tonopah Test Range. Perhaps they nicknamed one plane Rachel but they fly many aircraft as part of Janet. As for the green dots... it's obvious that these are not just green blobs on the image. If they were, they would be a consistent color. Based on the location and the size, I would lean more towards waste treatment pools.
k9sar
From what I recall, the green dots are salt evaporation ponds or something like that. yep. nothing mystical here.

k9sar
Another interesting tidbit, all the black opps stuff that was going on at the Groom Lake base was moved in the mid 80s. They still do flight testing at Groom, but of less sensative equipment than they had used it for. much of the activity there was test flying and performance testing of captured military aircraft. It was not uncommon to see MiG's cruising around in the skys.

B it is well known that the area is protected and the use of deadly force is not only authorized, but encouraged. If you went balls-to-the-wall in on a dirt bike and could survive the terrain, you would be dropped before you could get far enough to see anything, let alone report what you found. But hey... if you're up for it...
k9sar
if the US had another secret base, well, the general public would have no idea. ummmm... that's the point.
NismoSkyZ
To the other responses, I believe that it's actually vegitation areas. They have huge sprinklers that rotate in a circle and this very well could be them. I just like to stir up a little controversy.

I am starting to think no one listened to them anymore. The other day I was with a bunch of co workers and not a single one of them had heard the Dead Milkmen. 1 person had heard of them, that was it. I mean come on with songs like Smoking Banana peels, and taking retards to the zoo, how can you not love their folk rock punk sound. 4 classic songs Stuart is the song we are talking about. http://www.myspace.com/joejackofdmm Edited March 16, 2007 by trance34
