Nice work. I have a fender hanging in our garage too. Mine didnt have the holes for the flares, or the extra holes either... I assume they're for some of the extra cladding that some of the pathy's have??

... it's not the noise that the power steering makes when you put too much stress on it, is it? Mine will squeal if I steer all the way one way... all I need to do is let up on the steering wheel a tad, and it's quiet.

I don't know about the stock bumpers, but I know they differ. The mounting points are the same, but the bumpers are different. The grille on the newer %r50s sticks out more, so if you could affix the bumper, you would likely have a gap between the grille & the bumper.

If you get the one with the loops around the lights and that (I think its the T15, as opposed to the 17 - but I could have that wrong). It comes with an antenna tab on the drivers side loop. I had to grind mine off, as it overlapped the grill, and I couldn't close the hood. You shouldn't need to change the bearing, unless it needed to be done prior... XPLORX4 used to have a write up of sorts on his site, but I believe that is long gone... Edit: I see his site is down... maybe someone else kept copies? Or XPLORX4, if you have them, I can host them.

99.5 all the way!! I think the main difference would be the VG33 vs 35VQ engine. And some of the newer ones having the t-case switch (Instead of a lever). Of course newer is always nice, because (Ideally) it will last longer, but on the other hand you can save some pennies by getting something a couple years older.

Fixed that for ya. Please be advised, I'm not recommending this procedure.

I have a 99.5... When I bought mine, I thought it was a 99 (as it was listed in all the paperwork). As Kingman mentioned, the most obvious changes are the newer body panels (fenders are slightly revised, the front grille/headlights are the most obvious change, and the tailgate is reshaped a bit too.). Other changes include larger brake calipers in the front, and the shock mounts in the back have moved. I usually ask for parts for a 2000 to be sure. The manufacture year is listed as Feb 2000 on the door jamb sticker.

My R50 (and any others that I know of) requires you pull the lever back one spot for 4 hi. For 4 low, you have to pull back to 4 hi, then (with the transmission in neutral) pull back again to put the t-case into neutral, then push down, and pull back to 4 low. If you don't have the owners manual, it should tell you how to use it on the back of your window visor.

Ouch. I don't have the flares, but one of my front fenders has teh cancer. (After my accident, I totally forgot to get them treated for rust... GRR) I've already patched one rust spot on one of the back wheel wells, and I will likely have to look at them again in the spring.

I don't know too much about the first two points, I haven't heard much about either item. I will agree, the windows on my 99.5 are quite a bit slower in the winter ( I dont suppose -50 temps are gonna help you in anyway!). Also the pathfinders with the Bose systems have had CD player issues... most people install an aftermarket head unit. Check out the R50 section, and dont forget the FAQ/stickied section for some of the common questions/issues. Good luck!
