  1. I have one laying around...someplace...I'm just to lazy to look for it...would of been easyer/faster then attacking the mud with a flathead screw drive and enginebright,brakecleaner...but I got some good fums...
  2. Well I took my wheel off and looked at it...the patchs arent going to work so I'm getting longer pieces sometime this week... Well I cleaned the rust out and I found thar I entire frame rail(wheel well back) was full of mud...I mean it was packed and with rust flakes in it it was a pain in the ass to clean out... The welder is a Dayton 85 amp, wire feed using flux cord wire. Welds very nice
  3. ^^^ some bodys lying... * runs before the V-tec gods get pissed *
  4. Well I got a big stack of what looks like1/8 inch stock but they look like my dad made them for speaker stands(sitting off or the work bench or something)but I dont know if I can use them(about 20 3/5 inch peaces...just the right size for patching the big holes(not welding to junk metal)Will probly start tommaro...I'll keep ya posted.
  5. Bad g-milage in my pathy,winter(9-15)summer19-21mpg...lets look at some other cars now... 1976 GMC K20,37 tsl,454,th400(4mpg,never changed in winter or summer...4 freaking mpg) 1991 chevy camaro,305,th700r4(worse I ever got was 20 when I first got my licence and flew around burning up my new Dougles touring tires, racing talons)Now average25-31 80mph is 25mpg 55-60 is 31. 1978 jeep J-10,301 ,three speed on the floor,(like I dont know the mpg but its NOT good,1/4-1/2 a tank in half hour of wheeling, and its not fast like the mud truck
  6. Thats what I thought but the guy that welded the p-side said he didnt have to move any thing cause the lines where one the other side...ohh well I'll look tomarro,
  7. Naw, its a fully electric wire feed welder,I was thinking about gas or a stick but this one was free...all it needed was a new tweeco tip so I got it for 6.25 for parts.I also mayget a stick welder from the same guy but I dont really want it now that I got the wire feed. I was thinking of welding some sheet metat together so it be used as a sheild
  8. Okie-dokey,so I had my p-side of my frame replace about a year and half ago...now I need to have the d-side done...well last time I didnt trust my welding skills so I sent it out to be repaired. Since then I've done a lot of welding at a friends house on body patchs, quertiers, rockers and floor pans on old cars and trucks,Plues I made a bitching winch mount outta 1/4 inch angle iron(receicer hitch mount style) so I'm now confindint in my welding abitlity so I'm doing it myself... So... Should I drop the tank to weld on this side(fuel and brake lines on this side) What thickness metal should I use(I was thinking 3/16 or 1/4) I'm going to use my free Dayton welder(got it from my dads buddie) Any other thoughts would be helpful
  9. I like Ac and there alot better then the chapions that were in it when I got it...the plugs where probly changed once in the trucks life time(other then by me)
  10. Also BP gas is 15 cent more for 87 then any other gas station around but after I cleaned the TBI I filled up with there 93 since I had a gift card Also I go back and forth between fram and K&N filters...when the ones dirty the frame gets shoved in so I can clean the K&N(takes a while to dry) We dont have Texxacos in MN so I Dont get gas there that often
  11. I change the oil every 25-3000 miles, the plugs are new AC-delcos and I put a new dizzy cap and roter on it about a month ago...the rear diff is changed every 10-15k since I usly play in water and mud or extremely silty sand. Manuel hubs susposly help mpg...so that was where I was going with that. Also I cleaned the tbi about a week ago Also the TBi is not leaking fuel so I dont see a reeason to rebuild it and when I cleaned it it look brand new in side,no build up or any thing
  12. Well I have a 1995 nissan pathfinder xe with 4.6 gears,v-6,auto tranny, auto hubs, and some frame rust that is being dealt with since I got a new Welder. So the pathys going to be around for a while yet...I had the t-belt,camseals,and water pump replaced a while ago(10k) So this is what I have... 1-I get 19-21 mpg going 55-60 2-Is kick ass offroad. 3-Is a pathy 4-31 inch Road Runner tires .What I'm looking for 1-better mpg...I see people getting 23mpg going 75 mph 2-better response...from engine 3-Less rust...working on it So I've made a short list... Manuel hubs. 2.5 after-cat exhaust Highflow cat...maybe Body lift...to fit 32inch tsl's or bfg's Header? Cold air intake(Already have K@N drop in filter) Better speakers and CD Unit Tint products Plug wires? Bigger tbi? Any thing else that would give me better performance over stock That any one can think of?
