.5-1.5 buttloads is recommended, depending on how much silicone you prefer in your hose... B

Hmm, I'm wondering if you have taken that out of context, but I'll go ahead and make a fool out of my self. SAS stands for Solid Axle Swap for the front end so a SAS bumper would be one that fits after the mod ? Sans is french I believe for 'without' so that would be a truck without a bumper ? Ok guys, have a field day with that and educate us... B

WOW Bud !!! Congrats !!! Is it too late to cam the motor, or do you have to pass smog ? Do you really need a dana rear ? How about front and rear lockers instead... What size tires and rims do you have; maybe go for some 8' rims with 33" tires ??? Regardless of how you do it, it'll be sweet !!! I dont need most of that stuff, and I'm still a bit jealous !! B

It came in a little clear, unmarked tube, but I'll call the company I got the parts from and try to find out what it is and where to get it.... B
-
Not quite the same thing GG, you know that.... B

Not necessarily, I know of several types of oil filled plastics, even porous bronze and aluminum. My reason for asking is to find the correct type of lubricant for the type of material. If you find out what they are, let me know and I'll try to find some info. I recently put polyurathane bushings in my bug and they came with some super thick lubricant (way thicker than honey) and no squeaks... B

True, but I think you done went and insulted Pezzy... Hmm, would that apply x2 for her ?? B

Shouldn't make any difference Statikuz. Remember that your cylinders generally do not have exactly the same compression, fuel/air mixture, etc so all cylinders are putting out slightly different force. While these are fine motors, they dont fall into the 'delicate swiss watch' category. I prefer to take all the plugs out and lay them out in order and inspect them. It sometimes can tell you if some cylinders are running hotter, richer, have blowby, etc but no biggie if you did 1 a day... B
-
Ahh, yes thats why... If you change them that often, then I can see how they would be fine... B

Runnerman, sounds like you are doing some FINE work !!! As a fellow metal worker, I respect your efforts ! As for the protruding bolt head issue, for a simple 1/2 measure fix has anyone considered using pan heads ? You know, the dome headed allen wrench bolts. Or are they already being used and I'm just being foolish ? Herm, What you probably want to use is polyethylene instead of teflon. UHMW PE (ultra high molecular weight) is what you really want. An easy source for most plastics is msc.com. Here is a link that discusses some of it. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...t=0entry33383 I'm working on this one for the 90-95 Pathys, but dont want to go any farther because my frame is still bent and I dont want to fit it to a fubared truck... Tools used so far: bandsaw and $15 propane torch for heating/forming, but I even cut a small section with a box cutter and a LOT of patience. It is easily 50% larger than the stock front skid plate, 3/8 thick and will have 'winglets' bent back... B

I'd like to see how many Xterras want to go up against Mookie's Pathy.... That thing is just plain amazing. Obviously a commuter/grocery getter !! I'd love to check it out in the flesh, it's a gear head's pipe dream... B
-
Darn, ya beat me to it... B
-
Yup, had the same problem. Solution is to quit working... I honestly cant even remember the last time I payed as little as $2.35 a gallon. I'd say couple of years atleast... B
-
What material are the bushings, polyurathane ? B
-
Wow Pezzy, you sure have some crappy roads and big pot holes up there in 'Eh' country, Eh ? B
-
Sorry to hear that Z, but it doesn't surrise me that it went so fast... Sounds like you are looking everywhere I would and more. Just be patient, you'll find what you want... GL. B

You are welcome, all I did was walk down the driveway and look... B

Ok, here is the link for those of you who are interested... It is now pinned in the Tech section in the Garage. The gist is put in 5.1 quarts instead of 3.6 quarts... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=2621 B

Hey Duffman, I thats just a breather hose for the Diff. Crawl under the truck and look straight up. Above and just to the rear of the pan hard rod is a cross member of the frame. Basically in the center and towards the top there should be a bolt hole that is for the clip thats still on your line. Obviously, your has fallen out... just a couple of inches to the drivers side of the bolt hole is a hole that you tuck the end of the hose in. It's basically just to keep water and crap from getting in the line. You should be able to match up the lengths and positions by the markings on the hose. The hose should have a bit of slack in it as your rear end moves about. Well, you know what I mean... If you have been in water lately, change the diff oil. Heck, just change it anyway. Be good to your LSD and it'll be good to you. Make sure to use oil with LSD additive. I cant tell you what type of oil because I cant find my F-ing manual !!! :furious: B

Hey Wheelman, I'd like to get it cause the front frame is still out of wack on mine, but by the time I bought it, and swapped everything over, it'd probably cost more than having a shop fix mine. I guess I was just wishful thinking... GL, hope you can get it for $499 B
-
Yup, yes, and LOL, I know what you mean... B

^ The man has spoken well Thankfully, I knew I needed GL-4 when I replaced the clutch and changed the fluid. Went to 5 autoparts stors before I found it. Every shop I went into, the guys would say "I'd just use gl-5, same thing". DONT LISTEN TO THEM ! I was so fed up when the last guy told me that I said "Oh, is that what you use in your 95 Pathfinder ?". He drooled and twitched for a bit, then said "No, I have a Bronco 2 auto". "Then why the he!! are you telling me that ?" was my calm query. Also, last year there was a TSB posted about the stock oil capacity not being sufficient to provide proper lube at all times. I cant find it right now, but when I do, I'll pin it in the garage section. *flexes his moderator muscles* The gist of it is to add 1.2 quarts extra oil. This can be done by tilting the truck (considerably) or pouring it in the shifter hole (the shifter boot can be a PITA). I put in the 'normal' amount of GL4 and then added a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer and called it good. B

If you really want to go nutz on it, use POR15. You can get a 'starter' kit on their web site for about $30. As for rattle can stuff, I don't have any good tips... B

Thanks all ! Don't worry, it's the same old me... I'm sure I can control the giddy intoxication of power; as long as you do exactly as I say, I won't have to beat you with my moderator stick. Seriously though, I have plenty of time right now to watch you little weasels, um, fine forum members and since we all get along so well, I doubt there will be much for me to do. 88 needs the help now that he has taken up exotic dancing and doesn't make it home most evenings, so, here I am. I'm sure it'll work out fine. (Cant wait for someone to get out of line !! AAAHHHAHAHAHAHA !!!) B
