  1. Bud, like I been saying, pay him nothing ! Good that you are going through a lawyer now. Roast his A$$ !! Don't let up at all, hurt him as much as you can. Let him see what it is like as the screwie rather than the screwer. You actually owe this to society in general so he doesn't think he can get away with kind of crap. How long has he had your truck ? How many miles had he put on it ? That alone is sufficient reason to work him over. Good luck, but I'd say you are in a better spot than he is ! B
  2. Yeah, he knows about it... "back in the day" I believe he said. I'd rather see the landing, disintegrating front end and subsequent crash though !! Hehehe... B
  3. LMAO !! Agreed, that is a good way to do it... I'll wait to see your finished product though. Looking forward to having a garage ! B
  4. I am SO glad I don't know nor have met any "Mr Dressup" !! Hehehe, Good choice !! It'll take it better... Hey !! I'm in this corner also so best be keeping that freakiness a step away, eh? B
  5. LMAO at "stares at the O2 wire for a long time"... Personally, I'd find another mechanic in the future. Is the fan clutch loose or the waterpump ? The pully is on the waterpump... I've had bad luck in the past removing and replacing fan clutches and waterpumps. My theory is that the ballance is different than what it origionally 'seated' to and prematurely wears the part. I would not necessarily blame the mechanic for that. How many miles on that fan clutch ? Yes it's an easy job but $100 is outrageous ! Er, you have the R50... I bought a water pump/fan clutch for my old 720 for about $65... B
  6. Depending on what is missing and what condition everything else is in (unsure), you can get various hangars and straps from the local auto parts store to piece something together if you are so inclined... B
  7. Can't we all just get along !!?? Sheesh, we do, its off humor that makes the read sound off. : :o What this topic is about, I have no idea... I just tried to shuffle the freaks into the same corner... B
  8. Damn !! Thats almost rediculous !!! Hey Mookie, you have a challenger... B
  9. Er, do you mean the speedometer stopped working and reads 0 regardless of speed and the odometer doesn't register additional miles ? B
  10. Um, yeah.... Thanks for the unnecessary apology, I think.... Now, back to our regularly scheduled antics. B
  11. I have never heard of that, and I'm sorry, I have no idea what happened. Give it another day or two and MAYBE someone has dealt with this... B
  12. Thanks Trainman... Sheesh, I took time out of my life to split it off, and when I poke fun, I get crapped on. Lotta fun, it is !! Thats not name calling, and note the smilie ?? It's describing, classifying, and/or my personal opinion. Have a nice day. B
  13. Many vehicles have a 'take to stealership soon' light. I'm not sure what turns them on, but I wouldn't be suprised if it was just milage, and when you pull in they say "oh, you are due for your 30,000 mile servicing" or some crap like that. I knew a guy who worked at a stealership and said they just turn the light off (ie reset the comp somehow). I hate newer cars for this reason. Just like the black box they are putting in some that records your 'behavior'. WTF ?? I'd never go near anything with On Star... They can track the vehicle (somewhat), open and lock it, listen in, etc... BS, not in my vehicle you dont !! That sounds like a BIG law suit waiting to happen there, not to mention a few stealerships being burned to the ground. FEAR NOT !! If they actually passed something like that, underground reprogramming modules that disabled it would become common as dirt... F'ing governments !! *gasp, wheeze, pant, pant pant...* B
  14. Um, silicone is gas soluable... :o B
  15. Precise1

    Dead cylinder

I assume a compression test ? Hmm, could be a faulty plug... Have you tested the spark with it removed ? Tried another one ? Could there be crap/grit around the sparkplug hole that is not allowing you to get a good seal ? B
  16. Damn, I was going to say the roof, when you roll it !! Seriously though most people say there is not that much difference without the front sway bar, the rear has more anti sway effect. Just remember you are in a 2 ton short wheeled base high CG vehicle and drive appropriately. You should v=be fine. B
  17. Yes, exactly. You should run the lowest octane gas that doesn't make the motor ping. Assuming all the vehicle systems are in order, the most important items are clean oil, good 'hot' spark, and a hot motor. B
  18. Good to meet you Kettle, I'm Precise1... Sorry sweet pea, it's called moderating... B
  19. Pretty much just mindless ramblings by deranged people... I had to split it off of some poor guy's thread who had an honest question. Ranters will be ravers I guess... B
  20. Cool, any problems ?? Got any do's/don'ts to share ? B
  21. OOps, I think I got mine from 4wheelparts.com also... 4x4parts... 4wheelparts... Different, eh ? Easy to mix up, I'll check the receipt tomorrow. Red, I have a spare and if I hold off and go SAS I'll have 2... I can make whatever brackets. Get her rolling and we'll figure it out. B
  22. I got my Pro Comp ES3000 shocks from them +steering stabilizer (es2000) for $125 delivered. The SS had stem ends and I needed at least 1 eye end, so I called them up. They sent the right unit out and said keep the other one as it wasn't worth the effort. I'm happy with the shocks, the deal, and the customer service. B
  23. I totally agree GG, except my XE had power windows/locks/mirrors !!! One on the reasons I jumped on this one as that was the lowest trim I could find !! And the lowest miles... B
  24. While wheel mass can influence, generally only on acceleration, not while maintaining speed. Then the inertia can actually help. Do you run cheap 'off brand' gas ? Have you tried different brands or even different grades. Have you used injector cleaner lately ? Check to see that all vacuum lines are attached under the hood and not cracked. B
  25. Trace the fuel line both directions from the fuel filter (behind the battery) as far as you can using eyes and nose with the engine off, cold, no key in the ignition. Then do the same thing with the ignition on, but enging not running. Then start the engine and repeat if you still haven't found anything. Does it always do it or only when hot or cold ? B
