  1. I have changed my 1998 Pathfinder R50 2 rear O2 sensors. Since you have 1999, it should be the same as my pathfinder. There are 4 oxygen sensor. There are 2 location before the catalytic converter ( You should be able to see them when you have your hood open. There are 2 after the catalytic converter ( You will need to climb under your car to see them). The O2 sensors might be hiding under your heat shields (Just look for wire coming out of your exhaust pipe). They are fairly simple to change. First you have to find out which O2 sensor is bad with a ODB2 reader. Buy the O2 sensor, I got my around $90 CAN each (Bosch is the OEM brand). Some say you should change your O2 sensor in a pair so that it will have balance reading. Remove the 02 sensor is pretty easy just put put some lub, unscrew them and put a new one in with some anti-sized compound. Re-wire it and you are reading to go. It took me a few hours with some help from for the wiring. I have a thread in the forum you should be able to find it.
  2. I get 12Litres/100km for highway 17Litres/100km for local
  3. Sorry I am kind of new. But how do you grease Propeller shaft? What kind of tools do I need and where do i put the grease to? It is a regular maintenance described in the nissan ower manual. I can't any information on how to do it? If you know how to do that please let me know. Thanks
  4. Man I found another problem. I jack up my truck yesterday and i found broken Strut Boot on both suspension. The one on driver side is toally broken and the passanger side was cracked. I just had my 2 strut replaced 3000km ago. The looser mechanical didn't changed that for me when he should have seen sign of wear. He should have notice the problem when he changed it. Man he will never touch my car again. Is there anything that I can do? If I go back to him I think he will just say they are just broken now and make me pay for the fix. Is broken strut boot not necessary to get fix?
  5. I just had a friend looked at my car. He said not to worry about it. If my radiator don't get overheated then just leave it as is. He said that the vibration could be anything. It could be a belt too tight. Which he thinks my belt is a little too tight. He said it could be something the mechanic had done inside. So I think I will take my friend advice and just leave it as it. As for my truck, I have 14400km or 87010 miles on it. I don't think that is that much. I was looking up the price for fan clutch. It will cost me over $100 us just to get the parts. That is an expensive part. So i will leave it as is until i get overheat. And as for why i blame all the problems to my mechanics? I have heard too many bad storys about mechanics. My situation seems to find into theses storoes. My car have never had so many problems before. It was running just fine before I get my timming belt change. After the timming belt, I had all these problems. All these problems are related to the things my mechanics had touched. I told him to take out my heat shield. Done! and then my o2 sensors die. I told him to change timming belt and water pump, Done! and now he say the fan clutch is dying. Every where he touched seems to create problems for me. I will definally not bring my car to him to get anything fix again. My mechanics is suppose to be a friend of a friend. But that doesn't seem to matter.
  6. I went back to the mechanic and told him that I am getting vibration at 1k rpm. He looked at it, rev the engine a few times. Pop open the hood, rav the engine a few times again. He told me there is a problem with my Fan Clutch. He said it is not serious and it doesn't need to be replace fast. Then he saw my O2 sensor wire, I saw him stares at it for a long time. Then he said he has to go talk to another customer. He ran inside and come back in 2 mins. (He probally ran into his office to find his paper work to see if he actually did the o2 sensors.) He came back out while I was try to feel what he feels on the fan. He asked me if i could feel it loose? I saw not really then he asked me if I got all my O2 done? I said yea I did it myself. He was impreased and said oh this is not too hard you could do this youself too. I think he was pissed. But what the heck, I don't think he has done his job propally (I went home and play did what he did and I think he is right the fan clutch is loose). After my timming belt changed I have 2 problems, 1st the o2 now this fraken fan clutch. This fan clutch will cost me over 100US just for parts. I think he must have messed it up when he took out all the belt in my car. After my timming belt change he told me he had also replaced another belt for me for free. I think that free belt must be the belt that drives this fan. I think he must have a hard time putting it on and he screw up something and thats why he had to replace this belt too. What do u guys things? Am i guessing it correctly? Now I have to spend another 100 dollars. This is rediculous. I had no proved that he actually broke the parts too. May be I will try to fix that next week since I am on holiday.
  7. I don't notice gain in my gasmilage after getting a K&N filter on.
  8. Thanks the the O2 sensors explaination. I read somewhere before than the O2 at the back does not effect on fuel management. Now that you have explained it, I understand why. After driving for a while getting the o2 sensor changed I still notice that at 1k rpm I still get that vibration. It is pretty anoying when I am driving in the traffic. What should I do? Should I take it back to the same mechanic and have him look at it and make him fix it? I am just worry that he didn't do my timming belt propally. Could someone actually do the timming belt incorrectly and the truck can still run? One time I had a friend over and he looked at my truck. He took the spark plug out and he said from looking at the colour of the spark plug it looks like the fuel is burning ok. If the fuel is burning ok can i still have engine problem? Thanks for your advice.
  9. ignition wire pressed fully into the distributor? Do you just have to look at the distributor and check the cable? Do you have a picture to show. Man next time I think i will bring my car to the nissan dealer for oil change theen they might be able to see little things that I don't see. At least I don't think my dealer would do such a dishonest thing.
  10. Yes, I think he literally rip all the heat shields off.
  11. I finally changed my two rear O2 sensor. It was easer than i though. I wasn't able to buy PB blaster in canada. But I bough liquid rench. I spray on the and the O2 sensor came out pretty easy with a 22mm rench. The hardest part I find in change the O2 sensor is re-wireing. That took me a few hours because it had to go though a few tight places. After the O2 was in stall I notice I am not getting the 1k vibration from the engine anymore. So everything is good. But now I wonder if it was my mechanic that broke my O2 sensor. I had him remove all my heat shields around my exhaust system and he seems to just rip out everything. Some screws weren't even undone. I think he might have koncked on my sensors and damage it. O2 sensor seems to be quite sensitive it is even written that it can't be drop or it will be damaged. Anyway thanks for eveyone who helped me! Thanks
  12. Thanks for the explaination. That really clear things up for me. Now I can change my O2 sensor on the weekend with confidenance.
  13. Sorry if this is a stuipd question. I am new at this. In the R50 where is Bank 1, Sensor 1 Bank 1, Sensor 2 Bank 2, Sensor 1 Bank 2, Sensor 2 When you say left side does it mean the driver side in US. When you say right side does it mean the passanger side in US.
  14. I heard some store will read the code to you for free. If you want to read the code yourself for R50 pathfinder, I think you will have to get a OBDII code reader.
  15. When they say left and right oxygen sensor. Which side is left? The driver side?
