You were having too much fun?? You didn't ask?? We assumed you knew?? We figured you would see it when you were under the truck or had the shroud out?? We forgot?? It is generally done when you install a 2 or 3" body lift... That looks like the same radiator the PO of my truck installed. Works fine so far, but I never liked them. B

I can only remember one member recently that was in LV and I don't think he was a mechanic... B

Could the bushing be directional? Was the new one the same length as the old? Without pictures/not having done this myself, it's hard to second guess... B
-
Joe, I'm about to do this for the first time so only have second hand info. What I will say is that there are several very detailed threads about this already so searching is a good bet. That doesn't mean no one will chime in but it can't hurt to go look either, right?? Let me know if you have trouble finding the threads and I'll dig them up... B
-
LOL Actually, you are the only one to ever do something like that!! Shame on you !! If you have the plastic and metal unit, you may have a slight leak at the seam. If so, inspect closely and under pressure if possible... B

I'm in roughly the same place beastpath, about to rebuild the front end and wondering about the LCA bushings also. I decided to make the call when I have it torn 1/2 way apart, it should be easier to check then... Good luck with your work, let me know any tips or warnings you discover... B

Mine sits at 35-40% regardless. B

im getiing around 208 and 215 miles

In my first Pathy on a road trip, I averaged over 21 MPG fully loaded. No complaints there!! B -

I have never put more than 17 gallons in a pathy tank at one time in 4 years. Some people say they put in 20 gallons. That's a big difference in MPG calculation. Miles per tank is vague, MPG is precise. Look in those other threads and I think you will find I have said the same thing in them too... If someone asked you what your hourly wage was, would you say that you make $40,000 a year?? B -

Please state mileage in terms of MPG, otherwise it is unclear... I filled up yesterday and put in 14 gallons @ 230 miles equaling 16.5 mpg. This is almost all city driving... B -
Personally, I have no experience with the superwinch product. No, you shouldn't see any increase in gas milage as the CVs do not turn when you are not in 4x4. What you get is improved reliability and better function under specific offroad conditions. Some people will argue otherwise, but that is the general consensus. B

If you did it again, what would you do?
Precise1 replied to BonnerBB's topic in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Pretty much. For a DD I'd go with a 2" suspension lift and a 2" body lift with 31-32" tires, depending on the tranny and gearing. LSD at minimum with a locker optional if you spend real time off road. Pretty much like my second Pathy will be in a month or two... B -
Hows the project coming along? B

It's what the clutch plate gets traction on. Bad flywheel=chattery/weak/fast wearing clutch. Yes, if you can get all the parts. As jadm said, best way is to get a wrecked pathy (or someone close by parting out). Yes, I'm sure it can be done for under a grand. As for the seal, sorry, I have no idea... B

Phoenix, at the bottom of the main page are sections divided by world region. Go to the AU/NZ section and ask the same there. We have many members down under who will chime in. Good luck!! B

Hey Bud, there is a metric sheit load of information on the rear springs. One thread is pinned in the garage section I believe, but try searching first. If you have trouble, let me know and I'll either set you straight or provide the links. I don't normally just people to search, but this is one of the topics that has been beaten to death... B

About the stumbling, when was the last tune up? Specifically plugs, wires, cap and rotor. My old Pathy had a stumble on take off for a bit, it turns out that the distributor cap center electrode (from the coil) was missing!! I replaced the cap and no stumble, so check that first. Other than that, what is the timing and does the ECU display any codes. (see How To for instructions) The electronic units (94-95) tend to fail. Remove the cluster and check the brass screws on the back (grounds) and/or the voltage regulator. There is a thread about that right now... Yes, the cup holders suck. B Both my XE's have cup holders in the console...

I believe this is pertinent... http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...68&hl=noise B

Yeah, swaqpping a tranny isn't that bad, more time consuming than anything else. You will need a garage though. When I changed the clutch on my last Pathy, I borrowed a buddy's garage for a few days... Also, consider swapping in a manual tranny, it could be cheaper or at least more reliable. B
-
Of course. Unfortunately hot weather is when you will use the A/C and reduce the tranny cooling efficiency that you need at the time. Still, it is better than nothing. B

The FSM shows the "oil cooler out tube" to be in the far rear drivers side, centerline. The "oil cooler in tube" is on the passenger side, 1/4 way down from the engine on the bottom. I tried to find a program to convert a PDF or screen shot into jpg or whatnot, but didn't have mush success in the time I had. Perhaps in a few days... B
-
No, there is no conversion that I know of but I don't see how hard it would be to figure out... On the other hand, maybe the cam bearings aren't designed for it and you'd wind up mangling your head. But if you did it correctly, you don't have to bother for another 100k miles... B

The Calmini version is 3/16" steel, cut and folded so it is 3 sided (like the corner of a box) and welded along one edge. IMO if that doesn't do the job you had better question your driving... B
-
Perhaps, but often it is an exhaust leak at the Y IIRC. Many people have burned holes in the floorboard right there (the exhaust is VERY close). My old truck had this issue, k9sar, GrimGreg and many others. Search for floorboard fixes but the exhaust probably needs attention first. Pull up your drivers side carpet and padding to see if/what the damage is so far. \ B

Simple, no... Sorry, but do NOT use this as gospel. If there has been work done, even the starter replaced, the lines could have been disturbed. Mine criss cross a few times out of sight... The only way to be certain is to trace the line back to the tranny. I believe the one that goes to the tranny 1/2 way down on the drivers side is the outflow from the tranny, but I'll have to double check that when I get home. Of course, you can just hold both hoses in the air and have someone start the truck. The one that looks like a severed artery is the one you want on the bottom, but I don't care for that method... B Doesn't that describe all of them??
