Sweet!! You have a few things to make sure of, #1 being the timing belt and when it was last replaced. What is the mileage anyway?? Sorry about the interior though, I don't like red so that would probably make me vomit every time I got in it. Red said it well, look around/request parts here. I have a part out truck, but I think they are different units for the 95s. Sounds like you have a few things to deal with yet... No worries, we'll help you out. B

I had forgotten that... B

89-95 trans converter lockout question

More of a FYI, but it might give you some helpful information. Sorry, best I can do, I'm new to automagic trannys... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=999 B -
Cool, I love the cheap, easy fixes... B

Cool!! WTH is 'obverly windy'?? That's simply a road designed for motorcycles!! Welcome to California, now lean!! B

I remember that being talked about a few times, but can't remember. Honestly, try searching. I think you can find the answer... B

^He said that well. I always tell people to start with checking the battery, starter and ground connections first, and then check the voltage drop at the starter when you try to turn over the motor. It'll usually tell you if the issue is in the electrical path or on the starter end. This is always after checking the battery though. I have been suprised by drains before and once by one cell failing when driven 2 miles. The battery only put out 7 volts!! B

I doubt you'll see any mileage change and driving it won't change the fluid level so don't worry about it. Every time I buy a vehicle, I change all the fluids unless there are records to prove when it was previously changed. It's not hard or expensive and sets a start point for PM... B

Thanks for letting us know, and you are welcome for the guesses... I'm glad it was a relatively cheap and easy repair. B

Everything makes you furious... I have rainex on every vehicle. Works fine. Try applying it correctly... B

Use alcohol on a Q tip to clean the MAF fillament, just be very gentle!! I just cleaned the MAF on an R50 yesterday... Both of my pathys were from out of state and seem to pass Cali smog without trouble. We will see how it goes with the Thorley headers, high flow cat, flowmaster, etc... B

Damn, stay away from Wally World!! I have no idea if that will work for you, but as My1P said, the bottle will be clearly labled that it is LSD compatible or not. I found Lucas gear oil for mine at an auto parts store. Autozone, I think... B

Bypass hose and thermostat can't hurt and are cheap. There are a couple of write ups recently, 1 by Dr. Bill and the other by 5235pathfinder (or something like that) that is pinned in the garage section. I recommend looking them up and reading them. B

Go here and download the FSM http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=5410&view=findpost&p=457867 I'm pretty sure it is the same through 1995. I am positive you will be able to tell right away... B

Feeling your pain, but I have the GF's and the 3rd car to deal with, not to mention the project car and the motorcycle, if I ever get to it. Seems impossible sometimes... B

Thicker oil could help if it is internal, but it sounds to me like you have an exhaust leak. Check to see if it is at the manifold or at collector or Y before the midpipe. You may be able to fix it with a new gasket, depending. B

The 4 door map lights, you mean?? Yes, I believe so. I sold mine to beastpath... B

It is a pretty cool set up. The GF's 99 has that. I never considered retroinstalling one, but I can see why. B

Electrical / Alternator / Fusible Link / Something Else Problem
Precise1 replied to statikuz's topic in The Garage
Glad you got it sorted out relatively quick. I hate electrical issues!! B -
That's what you get for eating Micky D's... The trannys are big and heavy so a tranny jack is helpful. You have to pull the T-bars(or at least the cross brace for them) to get the tranny out. You'll have to jack the truck up about 2 feet to get it out. The TC bolts are accessed through the starter hole IIRC. You will need a LONG extension and a couple of swiveleys to get the top bell housing bolts. Bring a friend. Start soaking all the bolts with PB Blaster or some other penetrant. Make sure the stock tranny cooler isn't clogged. Go to the garage section and download the factory service manual for reference. Search and read up on what others did or didn't do. Oh, and sorry to hear, that sucks. I told you not to worry and just drive it, right?? Oops... B

LOL Ok, that sounds better... That tire is 29.1" in diameter and you are right, not many MTs offered for it. FYI 245/70/16 is 29.5" in diameter, you may find a better selection in that size?? B

I have a 95 with 101k miles on it, the tranny was rebuilt at 80k, and I have owned/driven it for 5k miles. It has a tranny whine that got louder when I installed a body lift (just due to sound escaping I believe). It only whines at slower speeds (<20mph) that I can tell; I'm not sure if sometimes it diminishes or if I just don't hear it any more. I don't worry about it and just drive. B

I have to point out that I bought a Harbor Freight electric 1/2" drive impact gun that works great for anything I need it for. I don't know how long it will last, but at $40 I'm not worried. The only reason that I bought an air impact is because the electric was too long to get on the crank shaft bolt on the pathy... B
